This is a truly great book for the novice home brewer. There's a wealth of information that can take you from square one to complex and creative stylings of your own. It covers all the important topics, including brewing equipment and processes, theory and calculations, ingredients, and recipes with a mind toward sustainability. The instructions are clear and practical, which speaks to the author's extensive experience. There's a great deal of organic sourcing and substitution information that will help you be successful in brewing tasty organic beers within your chosen style. I couldn't be more pleased with my choice to buy this book, and I know I will reference it often.

This book was not what I was expecting. This book is an excellent broad view of the brewing process, it does get specific as to sustainability, but it also enough general information on the brewing process to allow someone who had never brewed before understand how it all works. This book will make a good brewer better as it concentrates on the importance of organic and non-chemical brewing. There is a lot of information on, how to use spent grains after brewing, and how to make/grow a lot of your own ingredients.

This book was really helpful with guiding me through the process of sustainable home brewing. I liked that it was a blend of how-to make delicious beer at home (without spending a fortune), where to find the various ingredients from sustainable sources and a lot of information and recipes to help the novice and experienced beer maker. Looking forward to trying out the recipes!

Great book for advanced home brewers or people just thinking about taking up the hobby. Some excellent ideas for keeping ones ecological footprint minimal while brewing. Being that I'm as enthusiastic about baking as brewing I appreciated the author's ideas in regards to incorporating spent grains and brewers yeast in with breads and pizza doughs. I also maintain a small garden so the section on the homebrewer's garden was of particular interest since most of what I grow (hops, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, pumpkins) is for my homebrew, bread, and pizza.
Read it and brew with confidence!
