Great Book for beginning journalingby Alexia C Albert (5 out of 5 stars)

My father is going through a divorce. (2nd wife, not my mom) At 67 years old he has found himself at a place he never thought he would be (BESIDES living with his adult daughter!) He's not a "tough guy" or one who avoids feelings. His therapist suggested that he might benefit from journaling but he has found it difficult to get started especially when staring down a blank piece of paper.
I saw this book and wondered if this might be a good way to get him started. Well he LOVES IT! Yes, it's a bit "floral" but it's a fantastic book for anyone of any age or gender. The topics are fantastic and at 67, my father is journaling away happily and making great progress with his emotions and the process of his divorce.
(This isn't specifically for people going through divorce, it's just his specific situation)
I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted to begin the process of writing, journaling or even just trying to get to know themselves. I have to buy one for myself too!

I'm liking it so far! I had a rough year and I've started doing one list a week and I usually find myself not wanting to wait a week for the next list. The lists are a nice reminder to help realize and appreciate the happiness in our lives that's already there and helps me to brainstorm ways to add more happiness to each week.
Mindfulness for Beginners

Full disclosure: my therapist recommended this listing journal to me as she found it remarkably constructive when she got it for herself. So if a therapist thinks it's a legitimate mindfulness exercise, then you know it must be good.
It's a beautiful little book, and bound, which I hadn't expected. I'm sure there must be a ringed version out there somewhere for those who prefer it, but I was pleasantly surprised when this one came in hardback (I'm a stickler for hardbound journals, what can I say?)
It's laid out beautifully, with action steps for each list you do. It's a great exercise for anyone trying to practice gratitude and mindfulness, or for someone just looking to have fun with lists around self-discovery. Well worth the purchase. I suggest getting it at the start of the calendar year if possible, but the journal isn't based around time of year anyway. It's just a preference on my part. I'm weird.
Long and short of it: a good, reasonable investment towards your own happiness.

Exactly what I needed

I bought this book on a whim and am really happy with my purchase. The book has a beautiful hardcover design. My book arrived in good condition and I did not have any issues with the cover being put on backwards as some other reviews did. There is a Table of Contents at the beginning of the book which includes all of the 52 list titles, which are separated into 4 sections: Reflect, Acknowledge, Invest, and Transform. Each list has two-pages dedicated to it and there are a few pages with just photographed pictures (landscape, flowers, etc) for aesthetic purposes. The book also includes a built in bookmark ribbon to hold your place.
It has been a great journal so far and I would recommend it to others.
Fabulous Lists to Savor and Increase Your Happiness

List of what to love about this book:
* appealing and sturdy cover
* positive focus on happiness - any time we are thinking about happiness and what makes us happy, we are not worrying or entertaining negative thoughts. It's better for our mental and physical health. Some believe what we think about, we attract into our lives. So, this book encourages and supports habits to think happy!
* a year of weekly journaling inspiration divided into 52 lists - do a list a week and add to it daily, spend time pondering it
* action prompt at the end of each list - you can take action and change your life based upon the list
* lists prompt self-discovery and fun activities
* option to join others via hashtag #52HappyLists regarding their list project
* these lists could be a resource for a classroom, creative writing class, or support group
* lots of room to write on lined paper with two pages for each list
* makes for a thoughtful gift
* soft deep red velvet ribbon to mark where you are
The list book is divided into four sections: reflect, acknowledge, invest and transform. This would be great for seasons of the year. Then under each of these themes are list topics.
Some of my favorites list topics under Reflect: list the things you are really good at; list the best choices you have made in your life so far; list the greatest compliments and encouragement you have been given; list the things you like to do that don't involve technology
List topics I like under Acknowledge: list the simple ways you enjoy being kind to others; list the times when you felt like you made a difference in someone else's life; list the best opportunities that others have given you throughout your life; list the things about yourself you don't need to change.
List topics I like under Invest: list the compliments you want to give to others; list the things you're curious about; list the happiest and funniest stories you've heard lately
List topics I like under Transform: list some images that make you happy; list the things, people and experiences you want to say yes to; list one achievement big or small, every day this week.
So, that gives you an idea of the kinds of list topics included. Of course, you'll find your own which especially appeal to you. One can see how these topics are going to reveal patterns of activities, people, things which make you happy and by doing the lists you will find more ways to include these in your life.

I received her last book for Christmas last year, and when I saw that she was releasing a new book, I couldn't wait. A simple but helpful book, I am excited to do my weekly lists.
The book is beautiful and hardcover with a ribbon bookmark. It looks gorgeous.
The 52 Lists for Happiness is even better than the first book

I have a copy of Ms.Seal's first journal book, The 52 Lists Project, and gave multiple copies to friends and family. I'm a social worker who appreciates the value of journaling, both for myself and for my patients. However, I personally struggle with lined, blank pages in narrative journals-What do I write? Do I write entries every day of what I had for breakfast? The "Meaning of Life"? How green the grass looked today?
The 52 Lists for Happiness is even better than the first book. I have to wonder if Ms. Seal consulted peer-reviewed research on the subject of gratitude journals (evidence based for enhanced well-being in many populations). These lists also include suggestions for acting on what makes us happy, and putting positive action to positive thought is almost always a good thing. I highly recommend it for yourself, and for gift-giving.

I love to journal or write, but never know what to say. This book is absolutely perfect to have as a guide, and it has so many creative writing prompts that inspire happiness. I haven't completed the entire book yet but I know I'll be sad when it ends. I hope she comes out with a second edition! This book really inspires you to find happiness in your life and to create more of it, and it's fun too.
Who Would've Ever Thought Lists Could Increase Happiness?

I ordered 52 Lists for Happiness: Weekly Journaling Inspiration for Positivity Balance and Joy by Moorea Seal because I enjoyed her The 52 Lists Project: A Year of Weekly Journaling Inspiration. I wanted to keep exploring this idea of a weekly guided journal. 52 Lists for Happiness took on a different tenor for me though. I opted to do the lists every Sunday because I felt it would be a good way to start off the week. I had some struggles this year that sometimes made the lists hard to write and other times the lists cheered me up. Focusing on simple moments of happiness gave me an opportunity to remember the good in my life no matter what happened in the world around me.
