Product Description
Just because the undead’s taste buds are atrophying doesn’t mean yours have to!
You duck into the safest-looking abandoned house you can find and hold your breath as you listen for the approaching zombie horde you’ve been running from all day. You hear a gurgling sound. Is it the undead? Noit’s your stomach.
When the zombie apocalypse tears down life and society as we know it, it will mean no more take out, no more brightly lit, immaculately organized aisles of food just waiting to be plucked effortlessly off the shelves. No more trips down to the local farmers’ market. No more microwaved meals in front of the TV or intimate dinner parties. No, when the undead rise, eating will be hard, and doing it successfully will become an art.
The Art of Eating through the Zombie Apocalypse is a cookbook and culinary field guide for the busy zpoc survivor. With more than 80 recipes (from Overnight of the Living Dead French Toast and It’s Not Easy Growing Greens Salad to Down & Out Sauerkraut, Honey & Blackberry Mead, and Twinkie Trifle), scads of gastronomic survival tips, and dozens of diagrams and illustrations that help you scavenge, forage, and improvise your way to an artful post-apocalypse meal. The Art of Eating is the ideal handbook for efficient food sourcing and inventive meal preparation in the event of an undead uprising.
Whether you decide to hole up in your own home or bug out into the wilderness, whether you prefer to scavenge the dregs of society or try your hand at apocalyptic agriculture, and regardless of your level of skill or preparation, The Art of Eating will help you navigate the wasteland and make the most of what you eat.

In my search of cookbooks I came across this. Oh I thought it would be a cute novelty piece to flip through, YET it has tid bits of information on ALL I wanted to know!!! If I want to step deeper into a subject (as Mead making, bee keeping, foraging) I will get a more detailed book on the subject. This BOOK is FUNNY at the same time informative. The recipes dont look bad and I am going to use them!! Many many questions I had (elementary I am sure) are covered here.
There are recipes to use if you can eat out of your cupboard. What, no stock left?!? well then here is an intro to fishing traps, bleeding out, skinning, cleaning, making stove hacks with found materials..Don't have a temperature gauge? np use the "hand method"- there is a chart. Got a kitchen still? it will tell you how to keep it clean and even make soap. Hey, raise some meal worms then cook up some "mealworm fried rice"! I wont this week, but I learned never to say never. Author Laura Wilson needs to seriously break down each chapter and write a separate detailed book on every area- what an awesome set of books that would be. Great book Laura. Kristian Bauthus did awesome illustrating here.I highly recommend this book..ooo and what is that cover made of? It feels sooo good...maybe made so zombie sludge will slide right off?
My favorite quote in the book "Failure to prepare to survive is a decision NOT to survive". (cl hendricks)
Very funny, but also useful.

Purchased this a few months back on amazon for my guy friend, he absolutely loves it, calls it his survival bible. It goes into detail on subjects such as fire starting, traps, foraging for food and places to wait it out. Overall a very nice and well illustrated book that I'd definitely recommend for anyone that's into zombies, or survival guides.

I bought this as a surprise for my fiancee expecting it to just be a recipe book. This book is AWESOME. It has all kinds of recipes as well as DIY sections that tell you how to make an oven in the wild or traps for different animals. It has guides to tell you what plants are what and how to deal with them. I was incredibly impressed by how in depth this book actually is! I would highly recommend for anybody who loves nature things or even a doomsday prepper!

I loved this book so much when I got it from the library, I had to have a copy. The information is great and it is well presented and funny. It made me think about what I would do in various scenarios and get a bit more prepared.
My son (9) is into survival, and I got it for him in the hope he will be interested in making some of the food. He does find it a bit scary, so won't read it at night.
I am keeping this book with our camping equipment, so we can try things when in the wilderness. Highly recommended.

Just got this book and only flicking through I know it's going to be useful! It has methods of starting fire and keeping a fire, how to purify water, different traps to catch animals- honestly even if the apocalypse doesn't break out this would be great for camping. Granted, I haven't tried the techniques so I'm not sure how well they work, I know my boyfriend is going to love this book.
Incredible! Disaster advise.

I first bought this as a novelty cookbook for a friend. I am a zombie enthusiast as far as books. I looked through it before I gave it to them. I have since bought one for myself. Those I have shown it to (told them to disregard the zombie parts if necessary) have also bought one. All together we have bought 6 copies. More to come I am sure.
Cool book but some pages came creased pretty bad

Bought this as a gift because I knew the person would love it. It's a really cool book, even my husband wants one. The only complaint is that some pages came folded over and are creased really bad. The seller needs to package better. I skimmed through the book just to check it out though and I enjoyed the stuff I did read. I recommend it for sure.

This is fantastic!! I got it for a friends zombie bug out bag Christmas gift and now I want to keep it for myself. The writing is witty and funny all while providing great practical information. Then illustrations are done very well and are easy to follow. I love how the lay out starts are the beginning when food and supply are plentiful and ends with survival for the "long haul".
Will be purchasing another one.
Great gift

Bought this as a gift for a coworker who is obsessed with weird disasters (she's eagerly awaiting a real "Sharknado") and she loves it. The tips are easy to read... her six-year old can understand them. Recipes she has tried are also good.
