Our little pup loves her house....and so does everyone who sees it! It was very easy to assemble and sits in our living room. We fashioned a "gate" on the front and did a couple of other modifications to use in place of a crate.

I bought this for my oldest cat, Madeline, who is a sweet, scrappy little thing who likes to spend warm months outdoors. She lives with her bully of a sister, who claims every cat bed and warm snuggly place for herself, leaving Madeline to hide in closets or in places her fat nemesis can't reach her. As her chubby sister can't squeeze under the fence, I decided to create a space in our yard that would be 100% Madeline's. I tore out some overgrown weeds/bushes from my side yard and put in a perennial garden and this little house.

It turned out super cute. Assembly wasn't that difficult, though for the price they are charging for this thing (which seems to fluctuate between $60-$100) I feel like it could be a bit more solidly built. Those little stairs can break easily, and they are mainly for show, because they are so shallow I can't see most dogs using them. My cat just jumps to the top and ignores the stairs.

My kitty was using it the second it was assembled, before we even put it in the garden, so I guess that's a stamp of approval. (Including a couple photos!) I wish they sold the little cushions that fit in this, I have been trying to find something similar to use. I also wish the top was a bit more air/water tight so she wouldn't get wet if it rains. Someone handy could probably do some improvements to make it sturdier and drier, but it's beyond my ability. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. I plan to keep it outside in the winter, so time will tell how well it holds up.

Reading some of the negative reviews makes me wonder about the remarks on outdoor use. Really? You keep your dog outside. That is just wrong.

This is a indoor playhouse, fortress. I bought the Pet Gear Ramp 28 x 16 x 16 size and left the stair off. It is perfect height for my front window and my dogs live up there and love it.

Perfect for my Yorkie!

This is an adorable little dog house! Its perfect for little pets under 10-12 pounds, the smaller the better. I bought this for my Yorkie and she plays on it all day and hides her toys inside, sits on top to watch her humans, looks out the window, brings her dog treats up to snack. I painted the trim white to give it a beach house look and put her initial on it. The stairs are a little narrow, so I put some anti-slip padding on them (the padding used inside kitchen cabinets). It took a few tries and some dog treats to train my little one how to use the stairs and the anti-slip padding helped her get up and down more easily. Now she zooms up and down without a problem. Its small enough to put indoors, but would probably work just as well outdoors. Its made from cedar and has a pleasant smell. If its to be used outdoors I would recommend some weather protectant for the wood.

My only complaint is that the shipping was a day late and I ordered it amazon prime two day.

I've had this doghouse for awhile and my 3 little ones love it! I painted it to match my entertainment center and was easy to paint! They use it everyday and fight over who gets to be "inside" the house lol. I only have my lil boy prince inside when I took the pic. They don't use the stairs so I put them up there now and then,.. Great product!!

Alright so I bought this doghouse for my two miniature dachshunds (a breed that likes being in a cavernous environment) and they love it! However, great product n all, I hate the stairs. Awful stairs! Big steps, too few for that matter, and far too narrow. Almost steep, per se. But after some quick wood work alteration, I had this baby in better shape than the pictures! Check out the customer pictures and know that if you choose to buy this product and you dont like the stairs either, it's a very easy and cheap fix. The wood I used is nearly identical and I just got lazy with color matching/shaving down my new steps. Take a look.

Note to the manufacturer, my design is better than yours and it's still compact, out of the way. You're welcome, wish I could bill you; know you don't care.

Cute Doghouse, Stairs are not practical

I got this house for my Italian Greyhound (16 lbs) and we use it indoors. It was pretty easy to assemble, my boyfriend and I put it together in about 20 minutes. We decided to paint it and it looks great! The inside of the house is pretty roomy, unfortunately the opening is so small in the front Pongo is scared to go in. I put his bed on top, and he likes to jump up there and sleep. The stairs are cute but not functional. I might take them off and replace them with another set of dog steps. I would only recommend this dog house for small, short dogs.
