Great Gift

Our child hasn't had one piano lesson (yet!) and we bought this due to her interest. The other day a friend commented on how talented she was on their piano when she was playing with their child who takes lessons. When I told her we hadn't gotten around to lessons yet she was astounded. "How is she so good on the piano?!", she asked and I realized it's 100% from playing on this lighted key casio. Really fun for kids who get bored, want to play on their own and don't know a lot yet. Makes playing fun. Great price point, glad we got it. Over a year now and no issues with it.

Fun ingenious way to get involved with the piano

Lighted keys are an ingenious feature. Why would you ever buy an electronic keyboard without light up keys. I have learned several songs on this. 100 songs included too. Lots of fun and portable (when you use batteries).

OK so far...

We bought this online on Amazon for my 5-year-old nephew for Christmas -- haven't tested it on him yet, but we have met with a two concerns right off the bat:
- no AC adapter included in this package (it does state this on the website if you look under the specs). You can buy one separately for $17.95 on Amazon, or buy the keyboard with the accessories package for another $30 more, but with a stand and headphones too.
- it arrived at our door in the original Casio box, illustrated and all, packing label stuck to the box. Am actually surprised that no one stole it before we got home.

After stocking up on the 6 AA batteries it requires, it seems to be working well. Now we have to go order the plug!

nice keyboard....to start on....not to stay on for more than 3 yrs if you want to become a good piano player. 1st off...therea only 61 keys! 2nd they are not weighted...3rd off....its big and bulky....and lastly but not least-ly they do not come with headphones! good thing about it is that it has good volume, sound(s), and mic vol. The Casio SP-3R is a good sustain pedal to use with it. 4-5* completely!

Good product

We bought this keyboard last week and are having a blast with it!

I've always wanted to learn to play the piano, and while this isn't a piano, it's as close as I can get while I'm living in an apartment.

It came with a stand and power supply, but not headphones like the premium version, all for less than $100 at Target.

There is a song bank with over 100 songs to choose from, and it teaches you to play 3 different ways. It has a voice to tell you which fingers to use to play which can be turned off with the push of a button. The keys light up really well, and the sound is acceptable for the price.

The only thing that I don't like is the display. It's a little hard to see when you're sitting down and playing. It would be nice if it was angled a little so there wasn't a glare on the screen.

Overall, I'd say it's worth the money.

A Bulls Eye for the $

A wonderful starting place for any age and the price cannot be beat. This product has more bells and whistles then I ever wanted or will use. The sound is a little parochial, tiny, and less professional than what I wanted. Here is a product that for the money exceeds all expectations. However, that being said for the money I wish I had paid $200 more and jumped up a class. Missing feature that I didn't look for before purchase was the ability to record our (or play in from) an external source like USB. Something I quickly learned that I needed, which is not a the fault of Casio. My kids will cherish it though until they get to my discriminating tastes and age.

What's in the box does not match the product description here.

Be very careful when ordering this product. The keyboard itself is great, but in the Amazon product description under "What's in the Box," it states that the keyboard comes with a stand. It does not in fact come with a stand. All you'll get here is the keyboard. I ordered this as a Christmas gift, so this was very embarrassing and disappointing. In the end, I returned the keyboard to Amazon, and purchased the exact same model from Target for a lower price, but with the stand and AC adaptor included!
