If you can afford it, try it. You may like them.

I had previously rated these 2/5 stars, which I've since deleted and am now posting better results. I've owned these since September 30, 2015. At first I thought these things were worthless garbage but I had learned that charging them with my laptop was not efficient. I've since then bought a usb 2.0 4-port hub and charge them through there. For being usb and rechargeable they're worth the money. I don't like having to spend so much money on packages of batteries just to have to swap them out a week later. I personally feel these do not hold the same charge as lithium batteries but when they die, I just pop em in the usb port and throw another set in. It has saved me my beer money and with that I am happy with what I've bought.

Not so sure how safe these are for an older computer
by Johnny (3 out of 5 stars)

I dont know if the rumors are true, but the facts in my case... I have an ASUS M3N72-D with Phenom II 940 that has been happily overclocked to 3300MHz on air cooling for the past two years. Before that I ran it at factory 3.0gig speed with no issues. I know this computer is getting up there in age, but with an SSD, fast graphics card and an overclock has been and continues to be an excellent machine for what I do. Unless I plug one of these batteries in and try to do anything intensive.... Twice the computer has crashed hard enough to dump all bios settings back to factory thus destroying my overclock settings and both times, one of these was plugged in to it. I was able to duplicate this with prime95 running. Plug in one of these and less than 10 minutes later its locked up hardcore. Prime95 will run for days without this plugged in. So there is something to this. They get quite hot and I am sure these are drawing max current and my old motherboard is probably getting tired of supplying it.

ALSO, I have an older version of this same type of battery from a different supplier that oddly doesn't cause this. I for one wont use any more USB batteries in my computer, but will only plug them into external/phone USB chargers just to be safe.

Good idea but not useful due to several fatal flaws.

Sounds like an amazing idea but they have several fatal flaws. The capacity is very low, they only work for about half as long as a normal AA battery. They also lose charge when sitting unused, so you need to charge them immediately before use. They also take a very long time to charge, they need to be left plugged in overnight or all day to recharge. Given all these problems they're not worth the high cost.

Get 4.

Been about 2 years since I bought these, I think, and they are still working fine. Have not noticed any drop in charge length and, because of the few things I need AA batteries for, I havn't needed to buy anymore. I got 4, just so I'd always have back up for when my Xbox controller dies, and the convenience of not having to go out and buy batteries is satisfactory on it's own.

Bought in 2011 - paid for themselves many times over. But have not updated in capacity or price in 4

I bought 3 pairs of these in 2011 and have used them extensively. I never had any of them quit functioning but I think after so many charges they have lost some "battery life", however they still work fine. They do work best for low amp stuff (TV changers, controllers, small electric hair trimmers, etc.) They run out of juice far quicker than a AA chemical battery but after 4 years they paid for themselves many times over.

NOTE: In 2011 I paid $16.36/pair and they were 1300mAh. Since then the price has stayed the same and the battery has not increased in size/capacity... No product development!! Lithium batteries get better and cheaper every year but these have not been updated in terms of capacity nor price.

The batteries do what they are supposed to. I ...

The batteries do what they are supposed to. I read other reviews saying they have a shorter battery life than a battery, and i didn't believe it, but, it is true. Since the battery storage compartment is smaller than a real batter in length (because they have to make room for the USB piece) the battery doesn't last as long as store bough Duracell. But used in an Xbox 1 controller, they last a decent amount of time, then you charge them wen you aren't playing.

this product deserves 5 stars, but I'm giving it 4 because of my wishing it had a longer life span.

Environmentally friendly energy

Great purchase. I use these for an Xbox one controller and they last through several hours of game play. You can use them 100s of times before they no longer work. I had them in the past before and ordered them again. For devices such as TV remotes I think they will last quite some time. They take a few hours to fully charge. The indicator lights will let you know when they are done. When they are flashing, they are close to being finished. If you can get this product for less than 20$ i believe it is a no brainer!

these don't work. They're a great idea that i was really excited to try, but i had them charging for a long time, and when i used them in my remote, they stopped working in less than a week. regular batteries last for months in it.

then i tried them in a portable speaker and it stopped working in an hour.

Perfect for the Wii
by Kent Devillafranca (5 out of 5 stars)

These batteries are a perfect accessory for the Wii. I already have a computer by my TV, which makes charging easier. Even if you don't have a PC near the TV, though, you can still just get a USB hub (one that has an AC adapter), plug it in, and have the batteries charge by the TV. Get two sets, and you can have one pair in the Wiimote and the other pair in the USB hub, and swap them out whenever the Wiimote's charge gets low.

I've been using the same two pairs of USBCell batteries for about two years now. They're not holding anywhere near the charge they used to, but they've saved me some money (not having to spend money on AA batteries for the Wiimote for two years will add up) and a lot of hassle (never realizing that I'm on my last pair of batteries and will have to go out and buy more). And, hey, they're probably also better for the environment (fewer batteries used and thrown away).

So, I don't know how they fare for other uses, but in a Wiimote they're just what's needed.

Great for ON THE GO!
by Chris N. (4 out of 5 stars)

First of all, bravo on the delivery time,I received this package ahead of schedule. As for the batteries, they seem to be excellent! When they arrived I immediately stuck them on my intelicharger, which informed me that they were about 75% charged. Once they were at 100% (a little over an hour) later I tried them in a few high output led flashlights, bluetooth mice, and a few other portable AA powered products. The batteries worked in everything I put them in except my Mad Catz MOUS 9 wireless mouse. The mouse will not power on with the USBcell batteries but that is because of the way the chip in the mouse is programmed, not because of the batteries. I love the fact that I can put them on a battery charger while I'm at home instead of charging via USB. Once I drain these I will do a full charge via USB an update this post with the result. So far these are excellent batteries at a fair price considering what your getting.
