Cool light, needs improvementsby Bob,Top Contributor: Woodworking (4 out of 5 stars)

This was neat to see. It's not really ideal though. I can tell just by how it is assembled that it will leak. The entire light floats and the threaded section which holds the lights and the batteries is not sealed. In other words, if you swim and make the pool turbulent, there is a high probability that you will get this light flopping enough to take water on in the threaded section. Now if you wanted lights for a pool you intended on just soaking in, this would be a great light show. Keep in mind that this casts light in a 10 to 12 foot diameter, which means that if you have a big pool, people that are outside the light circle will be missing out. I have a 24x35 pool and this only lights up about a quarter of the pool at best so I would need 3 or 4 lights and they would need to be tethered for maximum light viewing. In a 12ft round pool, this will be amazing. Needs a rubber gasket to seal the electronics

Oh my gosh love these! I don't understand the bad reviews on these for the price you can't beat it. As for longevity I just got them so I can't say, they each came in a different color on the actual devise but they all do the same light show. I got three here's my pictures. My pool is 6 feet deep btw.
Makes the pool a party

This thing is a great addition to your family pool or to take to the pool. Kids love it and it makes the pool a party! My kids love going to the pool already but adding additional novelty to that family pool time is always good. I live in an apartment complex with a nice pool as one of the perks. I love taking the kids to the pool more in the evenings more than the day time due to not having to worry about sun burns. This light makes it more of an outing and a show that the kids enjoy.
Like it so much, buying another

We bought this for our in ground pool, and unlike others, it is great. So much so, that I am here buying a second one. One isn't big enough for our pool, so that is why I want a second. For the price, you can't go wrong. Our pool is about 25' long, and about 14' wide, a second will make a big difference. It makes our pool look like a party at night. if you hold the on switch down, it turns it off, so you don't have to wait for the auto off when you aren't outside any longer. We don't leave the batteries in it, floating in the pool if we won't be using it for a week or two, so it can't gather moisture in the battery compartment and rot. Had this happen to previous pool toys, and we aren't going to make that mistake again.
Glad I bought it, will be better with 2
They don't last, they leak easily and they provide very little light.

I wanted to like them, I really did. I knew from the reviews that they weren't that big and that we would need quite a few of them to make a dent in lighting the pool. I bought 10 and after the first night, half of them leaked. After the the second use only 2 were still working.
If the lights are going to be floating in the pool and no one touches them, they may work for longer, but if they are dunked or splashed they leak and the internal components corrode very quickly. If you must get them, open them up and thoroughly dry out the inside before storing, I would actually leave them open for storage.
They do have an auto-off feature, however, if you just wanted them floating in the pool during a party, you will need to send someone into the water to hit them back on again. There is no way to leave them on for a whole party. I wish I hadn't wasted the money on them.
NOT TO BAD

My husband and I have a 22'x52" pool. I purchased three of these AquaGlow lights for a party we were having. When I first opened them I thought they were awesome, because each top was a different color. One was green, yellow, and orange. The lights are very cool when you have them in a dark room, but not as neat once in water. They only cover about a 5ft circle and do not look like the picture what so ever. They have like 8 different settings for the lights which I thought was cool because it changes the mood. I dont think they are worth $20, but I sure do enjoy having them. You would need 20 colorful floating circles and then it might look like the picture. These can be used for more than just floating in water, but to make a SWEET dance floor in your house for parties.
Great for hot tub

We purchased an inflatable hot tub and needed lighting. This floating disco light is the perfect size. There are multiple color and speed options for the different lighting effects. It is bright enough without being overpowering. It is pretty solid and no water has leaked inside it. And its tough too, I accidentally dropped on the tile floor and it did not break or chip.
I absolutely love these!

I was a little on the fence about these after reading the reviews, I have an 18 ft pool, so I bought two of the floating lights. The picture is clearly photoshopped, you can clearly see they eliminated 3 of the pool lights in the water to make it seem like one will light up your pool like that. Well I bought two, and tried them out and honestly I think they are great, it is not like the picture, but 2 of them light up our pool enough to swim at night. They are really bright, a ton of different colors and patterns, my little brother likes to spin them really fast in the pool to make cool designs. My family absolutely loved these. Like I said it's not like the picture, the picture has 4 of these lights in the water, they just photoshopped them out. But they do a pretty good job at lighting your pool regardless. I have an 18 ft pool and two of these works fine. You definitely don't need 6 of these for a spa or 10 ft round pool, I think those other people are crazy for saying that. Two is all you need. Plus you don't want a bunch of these things floating around in your pool. Maybe if you have one of those huge built in pools 4 or 6 might be better. But other than that we are totally happy with these.
good room night light :(

i read the reviews saying 1 wasnt enough for people's pools, so i bought 2 thinking it would be enough for my above ground pool, sadly it wasn't. my pool is a decent size, i think 24 round 4ft deep, and 2 is definitely not enough, maybe if i bought another 5-6 lights and my whole pool would be lit. the light when it's in the pool reaches down to the floor, but it doesnt spread out far, maybe a foot around the item. also it has to be like pitch black outside for you to see the lights, but its so pretty. theres also like 3-4 different light speeds. the aquaglow itself was bigger than i expected, and they sent me different colored tops (an orange and a yellow one) from the pictures they showed which is no big deal. unfortunately i don't think i'll be purchasing this product again, and i probably won't use it in my pool besides from when i tested it, but it's in my room as a colorful night light :)
*also i paid like an extra 10$ for 1 day delivery cause i wanted to try it before my pool party, but i didn't expect to have to sign for it at delivery. i wasn't home when UPS came on friday, so i didnt get it til monday annnnd the UPS guy didnt even wait this time, they just left it on my porch --- i pretty much lost my one day shipping money and time but i guess that was my fault, but i just thought i'd throw that in there.
NOT LIKE THE PICTURE BUT....

i bought it for the pond and it really does not work like the picture at all. But as the fish swim by they look technicolor. it was disappointing; and then i decided to turn it upside down and then it worked great to illuminate the patio, kind of like a disco ball. so i set it in the center of the table bottom pointing up and it looks great. the whole ceiling gets illuminated and then it looks like the picture. i was so happy i bought a second one and set it in the gazebo. with a little imagination and a metal ring to support it i can place it in the middle of one of my trees and it will look very festive. i do not know how it will work in a pool with clear water but i had found so many other uses for it that i am happy with it. later in winter when the pond water gets clear i might try it in the water again. it is not that expensive and it is fun anyway.
