Don't squeeze to hard!!by Amazon Customer (4 out of 5 stars)

Cute design, good idea, but I still believe the old fashion way works better when you just use the egg shell itself. My boyfriend and both like this product but just be careful because its has a soft plastic piece and a hard plastic piece and when you squeeze to hard the product easily comes apart. I could do without it but it is a cute and simple gadget for the price. If used properly it works but be gentle!
Serves it's purpose, but it's collecting dust in my drawer.

Serves it's purpose, but it's collecting dust in my drawer.
If you use eggs a lot, and find yourself having to separate a dozen eggs at a time this might be the product for you.
If you're clumsy, and end up with that "oops" moment where you've just cracked a whole egg into a bowl full of whites, this might be the product for you.
If you just use 3-6 eggs at a time to make scrambled egg whites (like me, most of the time) you'll probably never reach for this tool since it's easier just to crack and separate as you go, the old fashioned way.

I bought this product because conventional egg separators have not worked very well for me - too much of the egg white is lost. This gadget is going into this year's stockings!

Yolks often break. Way more difficult than just seperating by hand. I mean... it's cost is so cheap you could probably say it is worth the money.

This actually works very well. Granted it's easy to separate a yolk from the white in other ways. However this has an added advantage in that you can capture the yolk in seconds, stand the catcher on its flat base, and cover opening with a small bit of plastic wrap for yolk use the following day. Plus no yolk breakage while doing it.
Update: Have discovered it does not work well on brown eggs. For some reason it breaks the yolk every time.

A fun and practical way to separate the whites from the eggs. I usually do one egg at a time, just in case there is an "oops". They are rare, but can happen

I read somewhere that you can use a plastic water bottle to separate eggs. We tried it but it resulted in broken yolks and the water bottle was impossible to clean properly. When I found this little gadget I was hopeful, and it has worked beautifully. The yolks don't break, and the extractor opens up and fits right into the dishwasher. Your children will love playing with the science behind this item!
Serves its purpose

Does what it advertises. Word of warning, be gentle when you suck the yolk up or the casing will breaking and it will ooze all over the place preventing you from separating it from the white.
