This was the COOLEST vomit I've ever seen!!! Bought 5 to dissect with the wife and kids. The first rat skull freaked my wife out so much she couldn't keep going!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Overall: 5 Pellets, at least 7 full skeletons including one rat (not included on the bone diagram...but fun to find), one hysterical wife that had to remove herself from the "lab", three completely amazed and interested kids from 12-17 years old, and one dad laughing his butt off at all of it; I give this purchase 5 stars!!!

The pellets were said to be 1 1/2 inches......NOPE.....mine were LUCKY to be 3/4 of an inch. SO sad!!!!

I feel bad that my students would have gotten cheated if I hadn't looked at them carefully.

I bought these pellets for a science lesson. They were extremely small making handling and dissecting a tad difficult for my 3rd graders. For the price, I felt swindled. The only positive was that they were authentic and did actually contain rodent skeletons.

Got these for my younger brother. He had a great time digging around for bones. He found a whole skull among other bones. He then bleached the bones and kept them in a little jar. It was a blast

I'm a speech language pathologist and used these with my students. One pellet was able to be used for several different children (we broke off a little at a time throughout the day). Lots of bones in each pellet (about 10-15), the variety included a skull, jawbone with teeth, ribs, etc. Absolutely worth every penny!

On Smaller Side but Pleased With Quality

The kids and adults loved these! Pellets came with a bone sorting guide (very helpful). Only complaint is that pellets are rather small for younger kids. Having done these many times over my teaching career, I would recommend barn owl pellets for younger kids. Aside from this, all pellets came with bones and skulls. Great activity!

Educational and fun

This package comes with 5 owl pellets, approximately 1 1/2" long. As the other reviewer mentioned, they are just wrapped in foil and sent in an ordinary manila padded envelope without any directions. I was able to find instructional videos and directions by doing a search online and even a bone identification chart, which helped my kids (ages 9 and 6) identify their findings. Basically, you carefully pull apart the pellets on a piece of white paper and very gently pull out the bones, teeth, etc. with your fingers or tweezers. Our pellets contained many bones and several skulls, much to the kids' delight. Our bone chart led us to believe that our owls consumed shrews. This project is a good lesson in patience; it kept us entertained for about 30 minutes. They got to keep their "findings" in a plastic baggie. Be sure to wash hands thoroughly after handling the pellets.

Even though the pellets were much smaller than ones I dissected in elementary school, these turned out great. I bought them as a learning activity for my nieces (ages 3,6, and 10)

Every pellet had a skull in it but one! Very pleased with buying this, my nieces had so much fun, and every time they found something new they got super excited.

Fun for the kids - but would have been more fun if it had come with the bone sorting guide in the picture. We only got the pellets (wrapped in foil) in a clear baggie. Still, we googled some of the bones, and that seemed to go well.

These pellets were great! All 5 pellets had a skull in them & lots of interesting bones. All 3 of my kids (ages ranging from 4-11) loved going through the pellets and none of them were disappointed. Tweezers are definitely helpful, so have some ready. We'll definitely order them again!
