Dangerous

I'd like to start out by saying that I am a union steamfitter and avid woodworker that has a lot of experience with power tools. This product is very dangerous! The guard (splash shield) came loose twice on my first day using the tool both times catching on the disk and spinning at 4000 rpm hitting me in the hand ( later sending me to the walk in clinic for infection). Both time the guard was installed per the manufacturer directions. The second issue was that the switch is an on/off switch not a positive pressure switch which is in violation of OSHA 1910.243(a)(2)(ii). Because of this the only way for me to turn off the machine when the guard started spinning was to pull the cord out of the wall

I was woking on my outdoor concrete countertop and realize a tingly feeling that got worse and worse

What a shocking product! I was woking on my outdoor concrete countertop and realize a tingly feeling that got worse and worse over the use of this product and then realize it was shocking me! I quickly discontinued the use of the product and returned it.

Great polisher for the price

I used this to polish a hand poured concrete counter-top for my outside bar/grill. Before the concrete set, I placed colored crushed glass in the surface and troweled everything smooth. After waiting a week for the concrete to cure I started the polishing process by using diamond impregnated grinding turbo cup to knock down any high spots and any flash from the forms. I then switched to the standard gray diamond polishing pads also available through Amazon.

This polisher is a beast. The water feature really keeps the dust down but the shield only marginally deflects the spinning water. I recommend wearing a poncho. My only nit would be that the provided hose attachment is about 3ft too short but it could easily be replaced.

Water connections leak horribly. O-ring and rubber gasket worthless.
by Keith Cathey (1 out of 5 stars)

My Secco polisher did not come with the pictured water connections. The ones that were sent leaks like crazy and would not stop with the o-ring and rubber seal that was sent. I could not get either of the seals to work without blocking the water flow completely, or leaking. I'm not sure why they wouldn't send the better connections as pictured on the Amazon page, but these don't work. I had to make it work with Teflon tape just so I could get my job done that was already behind. Very disappointed with this product. The actual polisher seems to be decent quality, but it's not worth much with the water fittings leaking so badly. I wish it had the option to contact seller instead of sending it back so I could get the issue corrected more easily with replacement parts as pictured on the seller page.

Warning, Not water proof !

Used it on granite tops & got electrocuted about 20 times without tripping the safety fuse or the house fuse!

It is not sealed very well and splashes of water will deliver some shock to your body.

Also the water hose leaks " No matter how tight you make it"so I was disappointed & had to return it.

I must add; Variable speed was a nice future. Also the machine was pretty to look at from 10 feet or so without using it :D

Decent value for one job, won't make it through two.

This worked relatively well for our first granite counter job, though not without some design problems.

During our second job a year later the power switch became very flukey and then stopped working - fortunately on so we could use the GFI buttons to turn it off and on. This is a safety issue so I will be throwing it away after this job and getting the Makita if I have another job.

We also had problems with the shroud staying on.

Not bad if you are only going to use it once or twice.

As otherwise noted, there are nearly zero instuctions included with this. however it did not take me long at all to get this put together and working.

On mine, the water attachment is different from what is shown (no quick-disconnect)

The on-off switch is very difficult to turn off, to the point where I ended up unplugging it while using it. The swich was in the fully open position, and it was still running.

I though I was getting mild shocks on one hand, but later realized that I had gotten a sliver, and was pressing against the sliver when running this.

anybody who is still planning on buying one, should also look at getting a longer hose replacement. there is a tube which goes from a garden hose to the unit, and the tube is only about 15"-18" long, so I was constantly snagging the hose connector on something.

Good for the money

I bought this to pretty much play around and make my own polished concrete countertops. It's a nice polisher and works for what I need it to do. I've done two "mini slabs" to get used to the tool before I went ahead and made my counter (I'd advise any novice, like myself, to do the same). I understand what people were saying about feeling little shocks (i would compare it those similar to a tens unit) when using this tool. But I threw on some heavy duty gloves and I didn't feel it after that. It has a build in GFCI so I'm not all that worked about getting a good jolt. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for that.

Short time life
by Rodolfo Carrillo (2 out of 5 stars)
August 16, 2019

It has severe failures in the bearings (9 and 16 according to the operation manual) it does not support more than 6 months of work, quickly damaging the bearings.

for a price of $ 96 / $ 110 is ok. but the same machine is offered in the market from $ 96 to $ 400.

the speed regulator also fails more frequently than the bearings.

Unfortunately, the case and engine are top notch.

It's a good buy for a quick job. not for a permanent tool
