I have seen similar products before and thought this set was a nice idea for camping and summer bonfires. We gave these a try at our last fire night and all started well. Marshmallows worked well on the fireforks. Hotdog's were working well, until we attempted a second dog which fell into the fire along with the firefork itself.

This happened to three out of the four fireforks. The heat from the fire no matter how close or far away from the flame was too much for the metal and it no longer would hold the shape and hug the stick it was on.

After they cooled they seemed to be fine but will need a good cleaning. Will have to keep in mind they should be used as a one time/fire use so as not to let the metal get to hot and have repeat issue, or keep a proper rotation going.

Clever, compact, useful, relieve back pain!

These simple, clever, doohickeys clamp onto the end of a stick turning it into a fork. Way better than just using a stick. Even better than using one of those short, plain skewers and melting your face over a smoky campfire.

They're small enough to fit a set of 4 in your pocket. You only need to find a stick, or have fun out there in nature selecting a stick of the perfect length as you imagine relaxing and cooking a nice sausage, sitting back in your comfortable chair, as you watch others crouching next to the fire, cringing and blinking and shuffling their feet trying to find a position that doesn't make their back ache, eyes burn, or knees crack. Yes, these ingenious little devices have greatly helped to relieve my back pain.

Excellent Design, Easy to Use, Survival Essential

Package contains four fireforks. Great for group car camping, or,

break them up into separate gear bags for solo survival/emergency use. Very small and

compact. Prong covers secure each firefork for safe, clean storage.

Simply find a branch with one small (1/2"+/-) end, squeeze the firefork to expand

the wire "holes", insert the end of the stick, and release the firefork to "grab"

the end of the stick.

Now you're ready to skewer/cook anything over the fire from hotdogs and marshmallows,

to fish, to squirrels.

Five of five stars as I could not improve on this design.

Have not used it yet but i live the idea of using sticks you find outdoors without having to put dirt and splinters in my food.
1/2014 UPDATE

Well after extensive use i have notice rusting. i like the protective shield and ability to use materials found at the camp site. but actual firefork itself should be made with more durable materials

I wish we had these when I was a kid. We would burn ourselves on coat hangers left in the fire too long, or get stick splinters in our food trying to go old school style. This lil invention combines the best of both worlds with no downsides. They are just coiled wires that spread as shown in the pictures and you find a stick, put them on the end and you're ready to go. I really like the plastic protectors that hold the tips too to keep them from poking people.

Very nice, kids love them. I do get worried that they will either fall off in the fire, or get lost, but it's the nature of the beast! I do love how small they are, makes packing them much easier than our old 2 prong campfire cooking sticks. I would buy them again.

These things are great. I had one on my last camping trip and all my friends were jealous so I bought these. Space is at a premium on the motorcycle, mine fit inside my cup along with my stove, folding spork and lighter.

I think I may sharpen the tips, they are just cut ends. Not a complaint, not worth deducting points.

Perfect, I've had these before & everyone around the campfire wants them. Most times if you just use a stick it is too large at the fire end to keep you away from the fire and not mutilate your wieners, or to get the right size for your meat you're too close for the fire. With the firefork you can have the best distance & cook anything.

I gave the firefork to each of my sons as stocking stuffers for Christmas and kept one for myself. They seem to be well built and will be handy for when we go camping. Having 4 to the pack will make it easy for the members of the families to do weiners and marshmellows without having to wait turns.

I would recommend this product if you don't mind paying quite a bit for convenience. They work exactly as advertised, once you find the right-sized stick, so if you are using them in your backyard, I would recommend saving the stick from year to year.
