Do not buy. Waist of money.by Sangram (1 out of 5 stars)

Do not buy. Very cheaply made products. Feels more like plastic than glass. Glass cap with the cork broke after 3 uses. Wish I wouldve never bought it.
Tacky

This decanter is downright tacky. My fault for not reading the product description more carefully. It says STOPPER is glass - not the whole thing. The stand and globe are plastic! I had planned to give this as a gift but after seeing it, I would be embarrassed to do so. Buyer Beware!
Super delicate

I bought this and could not have been more excited. However, it is the most delicate thing I have ever touched and I broke the cork the day I got it while pulling it out of the box. I also put light blue food coloring and water in it because I actually wanted it to simply look like the Earth as decoration, but it molded, and then the inside was really hard to clean (my fault, not theirs!). Overall I still love it, but it sits empty because it's so delicate we don't really want to put anything in there that we might actually want to drink, or wine that might mold over time.

I thought it would have been bigger and its super fragile. Feel unsafe every time I grab it. Wish it would have been a little more sturdy as I bought it as a gift and I felt like the product seemed cheap.
I am thoroughly disappointed in this product

The etching of the countries were not to scale and were not all oriented in the same direction. The Med Sea was non existent, the Panama Canal was grossly over-sized, and North and South America were tilted in different directions. These are just a few examples of the MANY etching mistakes. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product. I was embarrassed to display this and quickly returned it. If I were the manufacture, I would HIGHLY consider packing up because this product is abysmal.

While it does look amazing I was afraid to even touch it because the glass was so thin I felt the smallest touch would shatter it.
The globe is I credibly thin glass with a very cheap cork glued to the stopper. This cork was my failing point tearing off in the stem and the build shattered trying to remove it.
The base is also made of glass but is a hollow tube of thin glass that has a small hole in it.
Long story short is its an amazing shelf piece not ment to be used or even touched or you will absolutely break it.
Flimsy Flask

Neither the picture nor the description convey any idea of dimension or quality. It looks attractive. That's the reason I chose it. However, upon receipt and inspection of the merchandise, I was disappointed to find how flimsy it was -- very thin glass for the vessel and stand. The cork stopper was more appropriate for a disposable bottle than for a wine decanter. I wish the "decanter" was made of more substantial glass resting at an angled bottom or a more robust stand with a ground solid glass stopper. I still like the etched world contour map, the high point; lack of utility as a wine decanter is low point.
Fragile, little things.

After reading everyone else's reviews I knew what to expect from this product, and they were all very accurate. The glass is extremely fragile, like beaker glass. It is most definitely a display item and not something I would recommend to have around kids. Also, the packaging is large for such a little thing. However, it is a beautiful piece. The etching is gorgeous and accurate. I only wish it came in a larger, more durable size.
