Absolutely love it!

I cant imagine camping without a camp fire and when we wanted to camp in Northern AZ during fire restrictions I decided to give it a try. I was very hesitant because of the price but I am glad I went with this brand. I have experienced propane fires with the cheaper brands and while they work, they are not as impressive as the Campfire in a can.

The Campfire in a can puts out a lot of heat and gives a very nice campfire feel. We have used it for 12 days on two different trips and have come to love it.

With conservative use we were able to get a full 5 days out of a standard bbq grill tank (20lbs) the first trip. Since it was the first trip with it we kept it on medium to low most of the time and high just to try it out in short bursts. We cooked on it at least 3 times the first trip. The grill is not huge but we were able to barely get 4 Rome brand pie irons on it. We toasted marshmallows and made smores with no issues and grilled hot dogs.

Our most recent trip we used it for 7 days. I would put it on medium during the evenings for and hour or two and then on again in the morning for about an hour also on medium. We cooked on it as well at least 3 nights and I made it 4 days on the first tank and switched tanks for the remaining 3 and I would say we have about half a tank left on the second tank.

I had one issue on the first trip and one of the lid clips broke off. I called the company and talked to the owner on his cell as he was on his way to work. He was extremely helpful and took care of the problem immediately.

I have always been a campfire person and would have never considered a propane fire for my predominate campfire choice but I may rethink my stance on that.

Propane is cheaper than the cost of wood at most of the places we would be buying it, unless I can cut or haul my own. It is nice to light the campfire do what you need and shut it off when your done.

My family loves the fact there isn't any smoke and their clothes did not smell like a campfire. Also we have a couple family members with bad allergies and the Campfire in a can does not bother their allergies like a campfire does.

The only negatives I can think of are the Campfire in a can puts out a little bit of soot which is a little messy when packing up and the grill is a little on the small side. Neither are deal breakers and you probably would have the same issues with any propane campfire. The grill is adequate to cook on for and average family but if you had a large group you might want to bring an additional cooking option.

My experience with buying wood locally at the campground has been hit or miss and always expensive a

We generally camp on public lands and are finding the rules against transporting firewood getting tighter and the prohibition of ground fires becoming more common with each trip. My experience with buying wood locally at the campground has been hit or miss and always expensive and two of our favorite campgrounds, Big Bend NP and Cape Hatteras NS, do not allow wood fires at all. These were the primary reasons for buying a propane powered campfire.

After much research, I ended up with the Camp Fire in a Can product because of the customer reviews of the product and the frequent comments about the outstanding customer service of the company,

After a half dozen camping trips with the CFIAC, I'd agree with the reviews and the customer service aspect. Our first trip was to Pisgah NF in the Smoky Mountains of NC. It rained virtually the entire time and we had the only fire in the campground - under the awning of our camper. The next trip was to Frisco in Cape Hatteras NS where, for the first time in years of camping there, we were able to enjoy a fire while watching the surf from our site.

To be perfectly honest, you won't fool anyone into thinking the CFIAC is a 'real' campfire during the day - the footprint is just too small. But, in the evening, if you set it up inside the fire ring and crank it wide open it'll easily pass inspection from almost anywhere. I'm don't have an accurate figure for the propane usage (I use the same tank for cooking) but would guess a twenty pound tank with the fire at half to three quarter setting lasts 12-15 hours. It actually puts out a good bit of heat and at anything near full open, we had to move our chairs back a little. I'd say half open would be an adequate setting for us with temps in the sixties. Not really a negative, but you will need to carry a little whisk broom along to brush the soot off the log set after use.

The product is well made with high quality materials and workmanship. Having said that, I broke two of the clips that hold the lid to the base on our first outing - entirely my fault. I called CFIAC and was immediately connected to the owner. I explained what I'd done and he still shipped me replacement clips at no charge. They came in two days later and included both screws and rivets so that I could go either way with the repair. CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Highly recommend the product.

BEST propane fire pit ever!!!!
by chomper (5 out of 5 stars)

I thought that the fire was going to be a cheesy propane fire and not look anything like a real fire, but I was wrong. I thought that this would only put out as much heat as a propane patio heater (which I have and it's useless) but again, I was wrong. All I can say is this thing is AWESOME!!!! No more smelling like a campfire. No more buying wood, chopping it, splitting, trying to get a fire going, and all that crap. Burn Ban? Schmurn ban! We were the only people in the whole campground who had a campfire. Everybody else (though they were welcome to come grab a chair) just kept peeking at us through their blinds. Ha ha. The thing about a propane fire is there are no coals or embers which can start fires in dry areas so you can use this fire pit when wood fires are banned. It also has a grate you can put on it so you can boil water for coffee or even cook your breakfast on it. The only drawback is that it let off a little bit of smoke for the first 30 minutes and it kinda stinks. I think it was the fake logs. After they've burned off though, the smell goes away. We used it well below 1/2 way and it was plenty big and easily enough heat. After 2 nights of 4 hours each, I can't really tell if it used any propane at all. Tank still feels full. It sits on top of the lid which is nice, too.

Buy it! You will never regret it!

Very impressed. I was skeptical considering the price of competitors like little red campfire. This thing is the real deal. You can adjust the flame to an exact height, heat and light all with the lever. It's awesome. Like I said, I was a hater now I'm a believer. We had a landscape company put a fire Boulder in with a natural gas line and it totally sucks. Should have bought 2 of these: one for the road and one for my house. Very, very high quality flame! The photo is a very low setting fire, my favorite!

Best campfire ever. I have emphysema, so I needed something like this. At first I bought the Lil Red Campfire but called the designer if campfire in a can and he told me he would always stand behind his product and was only a phone call away. I said that says it all for me and returned the lil Red campfire, unopened back to camping world and trusted in Leo's word.

Sure enough I did have a problem as I don't use it but twice a year. He personally answered the phone and fixed my problem within Minutes!!! :)

I am one happy camper and tell everyone this is the Only Product to buy!!

I originally purchased this portable firepit for rainy days under our newly built patio cover. This was to supplement our original wood burning backyard firepit. Funny thing is, since purchasing the "Campfire In A Can" I find myself rarely ever messing with splitting wood and making a traditional wood fire any more! I think I've become spoiled.

When family visited from out of state and it was a cloudy chilly evening, we fired up the portable firepit and had a great chat. We greatly enjoyed the warmth and ambiance of the glowing fire. This was exactly what I envisioned when purchasing this item...perfect.

Imagine my surprise when I awoke the next morning to find our out of town visitors outside once again huddled around the firepit. They loved it so much they had gotten it out and re-lit it that morning to enjoy it some more. I would venture to guess they will either be buying their own soon (or we will be buying them one this upcoming holiday season)!

We recently took it camping with us and arriving late on a Friday evening, didnt have time to mess with building a fire in the dark. You guessed it...I pulled out the "Campfire In A Can" and woolah, we had an instant campfire...perfect!

Buy one, its well worth the cost in convenience alone and it works great.

Good fire with plenty of heat

I just got this last night, so this review is based on using it one time, but so far I love the Campfire In a Can. My initial impression is that it seems to be very high quality and well-designed. Unpacking and hooking it up for the first time was very quick and easy. The temperature was in the low 50's when I tested it, and within a few minutes it was putting out a pretty decent amount of heat. It's very easy to control the size of the flame using the yellow lever, and once it cooled, it was easy to pack it away. I will be using mine mostly with my RV, so I was glad to see that it is fairly small and easy to store when not in use.

Love this thing!!!!

Wow, this is an amazing campfire!

Warm, bright, big campfire feel. Easy to pack and to unload from the GREAT Carrying case. Easy to hook up. Just click your lighter and you have a fire. No flying burning embers. You decide how big and hot you want it with the turn of the lever.

We have had problems around campfires when camping for the last few years, getting and packing wood, burn bans, allergies...but camping is just not the same without a campfire. This is truly a great product. We are replacing our wood fire pit in our back yard with one of these gems.

Well worth the price! And on a side note, you will be the talk of the campground, other campers envy this thing! Happy camping!

We found that if we wrapped the regulator with a towel to insulate it from the cold it worked fine.

We ordered this for camping since my daughter and I both have allergies and the smoke from a traditional campfires bothers us sometimes.

We did have a problem with the regulator icing up the first time that we used it since it was raining and 33 degrees outside. We found that

if we wrapped the regulator with a towel to insulate it from the cold it worked fine. We use it quite often in our back yard and have had many

compliments on it. After seeing it work, a couple of friends have purchased them.
