I am a little disappointed that the product I received is not the exact product shown. I paid $5 more to order this product because I liked the way it looked better than the other one, however that is the one I received. Works great, just not what I expected to receive..

I was excited about getting this product but the string was really weak and after we put it in the dishwasher the first time, it broke, exposing how poorly it was put together. cute if your just going to use it for aesthetic purposes, but thats about it

Loved this cheese cutter as well as the other Fred's products I bought this christmas. I payed little attention to the size of the cheese board and was surprised by it's larger size. My dad loved it and i'm sure it will be used with a smile.

Cute, Has Potential, Is a Piece of Junk

Upon opening this item, as a gift this past Christmas, we were pleasantly surprised at such a great idea! The metal frame and cutting board are sturdy and well made. That is where this review stops; Upon slicing a semi-soft "Jarlsburg" cheese (similar to swiss) the wire gave out, immediately going slack. I gently tightened the wire with the attachment screws and the wire snapped off. I contacted the company immediately 12/26 via their web site and have not heard from them.

I DO NOT recommend purchasing this product. Poor quality and no customer service.

I love Fred products and this cheese cutter is no exception. If you like the way it looks in the picture, you will like it in your home or as the perfect gift for the right person (maybe not your dour great aunt, but then again???). The cutter itself has the standard inexpensive wire blade and the wood is a little rough, but anything "finer" would take away from the effect. A quick glance shows you a giant, old-fashioned mousetrap. As they say on the box "finally, someone's built a chedder mousetrap". Brilliant.

I bought this because it's fun to have something different. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that it also works great. The cheese slicer easily slices and makes very neat, precise cuts. The wood base is hard and durable. I can't wait to use it at my party tomorrow.

I got this for my FIL because he has a vendetta against the rats in his attic and has made his trap adventures pretty legendary. It looks great and functions as hoped. What do you get a guy who has everything? A good laugh!
