Fantastic Quality for the Price!
by Richy Fukushima (5 out of 5 stars)

I was very hesitant to order this wine cabinet due to a few 1-star reviews posted here on Amazon. After several days of consideration, I finally gave in and clicked the buy-now button. Within 48 hours, a refrigerator-sized box was waiting outside my door. After assembling the wine cabinet, I was very impressed with its quality and appearance.

Assembly/Construction: The cabinet arrives in an extremely-well packaged box containing approximately 25 individual pieces(including screws, washers, etc). Each piece is individually wrapped, and aside from a few very minor nicks and dings, everything was in good-shape. It was evident that the cabinet came directly from a manufacturing facility - meaning the pieces had some flakes of saw dust, specks of styrofoam, and assorted debris covering them. I highly recommend you use a soft towel to individually wipe each piece as you assemble the cabinet. From start to finish, it took me about 20 minutes to assemble the entire cabinet. Aside from the materials included in the box, the only tools I needed were a simple flat-head screwdriver, and a towel. It came with an assembly-diagram and was very easy to put-together.

Appearance/Quality: This cabinet is absolutely beautiful. After reading a few negative comments, I was afraid it would look flimsy and cheap. It does not. The columns are each made from solid pieces of wood. The saucer-shaped bases are made from extremely well constructed particle board. The finish is smooth and beautiful. It feels solid, and the coloration is exactly as it appears in the picture. It's evident that a lot of time and effort went into the manufacturing of each and every component of this wine cabinet. The artwork on the globe, and around the boarders of the cylindrical surfaces is contained on a sort of printed paper -almost like a sticker. When I read about the sticker-decals in other reviews I became nervous, but when I saw them in person I was re-leaved. They look great! The sticker-artwork on the wooden bases appears to be one single, large sticker. It appears to have a clear-coat of varnish over it, causing it to be flush with the wood. As I slide my finger over the boarder, I can't feel a bump at the edge. It's one smooth surface. As other reviewers have mentioned, the artwork on top of the globe is also comprised of series of stickers. In total, there are approximately 12. Again, the stickers aren't obvious. Reading the word "stickers" in other reviews immediately made me feel skeptical. I was thinking, "oh that's going to look ridiculous." In fact, the word sticker isn't really the appropriate term. It looks more like printed paneling. Each panel is flush and smooth, and all of them match together seamlessly. It's extremely well constructed. There is one place where the artwork doesn't match-up perfectly. Think of each panel as a separate piece. The right-edge of the first panel matches the left-edge of the second panel. Two matches to three, three matches with four, and so-on. The very last panel's art doesn't match perfectly with the first panel's art, so there is a slight mis-match in one seam of the globe. This isn't really a problem, as one reviewer mentioned - if you're OCD you can turn the globe and hide the seam. Despite a few minor imperfections like this, the wine cabinet truly is a piece of functional art. It's beautiful from across the room, and just as beautiful up-close.

Functionality: Before receiving the wine cabinet, I wasn't sure if it would be fully functional. I thought maybe it would be too flimsy to actually use, or perhaps the hinge on the top wouldn't work properly. My fears turned out to be without merit. It's completely functional. I use the cabinet every day. It's very spacious. Stored within the cabinet(under the globe) I have: 8x whiskey glasses (rocks glasses), 6x wine glasses, 1x 34-ounce decanter, 1x bottle of scotch, 1x bottle of rum, 1x bottle of wine. The shelf below the globe is large enough to hold a 6x half-gallon jugs. Looking at the pictures, I didn't realize the storage space was as large as it truly is. Again, I'm very pleased with the aesthetics and functionality of the wine cabinet.

Overall Impressions: I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The wine cabinet looks elegant, beautiful, classy, and it really elevates the aesthetics of my entire living room. Had this cost one thousand dollars, I would have been disappointed, but the fact is: it cost one hundred dollars including shipping. You can't expect much for a hundred bucks these days - so after having seen the construction quality of this cabinet I am very surprised by the negative reviews. Did those people expect the globe to be hand-painted for a hundred bucks? Are they crazy or just out-of-touch with reality? The fact is: this wine cabinet is lovely and well-built for the price. 5-stars!

great bar globe very satisfied!

Very hesitant to buy especially since there are others for cheaper and it sat in my cart for about 3 weeks being compared and analyzed. I was very picky in finding the right globe bar and I wish I had some stronger feedback to go off of and better pictures to help me make a decision so I'm going to do my best to be as descriptive as possible! So, I finally just made myself click order and arrived within 5 days very fast! Assembly was quick and easy, no tools are even needed. Very happy with the end result it looks great, spacious inside, plenty of storage on the bottom. I have a decanter and rocks glass set coming to put inside so I'm excited to see the final look all stocked up. TO CLEAR UP ANY MISCONCEPTIONS due to varying reviews and comments... This bar feels sturdy to the touch except for the dome which will slightly wobble but what is to be expected with a wooden arm. No big deal. When the dome is open it sits firmly. As for the sticker issue, it does appear to be stickers or pasted down paper for the decorative map. To me it seems it will hold and stay glued down as long as you don't run it into any corners or bang it up in any way. The inside of the dome does have a few places where the paper or stickers is stretched tight down the curve of the dome so it looks to be peeled up just slightly. Again, unless you were examining this no one would notice. I would say the inside of the bar can hold 2-3 bottles in the middle and a set of rocks glasses on one side and a set of wine glasses on the other side. The bottom rack will hold at least 8-10 regular sized bottles of wine. The color is beautiful, the size is perfect, I really can't find any complaints about this product. My boyfriend is going to love it when he gets it for Christmas!!! If you are struggling to make a decision or are weary to buy I would recommend just buying and you won't be disappointed :)

Arrived as advertised - FYI on glassware holder size

Globe bar arrived on time, and the packing was well done, there was only a small scuff on the outer rim, no other damage found. I've only had it a week so I cannot speak to its longterm durability, but it has been fine so far. Was simple to put together for one person, just need a screw driver, and looks just like in the example photo.

One thing I will note for people looking to buy this - the inner cut-outs to hold glasses are less wide than you'd expect, so if you are using larger bar glasses they may not fit. The width of the C-shaped cut outs (on mine at least) is 3 1/8", so hopefully that helps anyone unsure if their glassware will fit.

Exceeded Expectations

Wife and I were looking for a mini bar to provide some accent to our new place and were stuck between a few choices. Given the price we were very skeptical, but decided to go for this one. Let me say that the reviews had me a bit scared. It arrived today and we went right into setting it up.
1st- The setup was extremely easy and the parts and instructions were 100% accurate.
2nd- It took me 5 miniutes to set everything up because I am OCD when it comes to setting things up. (Less time if you go right to it)
3rd- The tint on the lamination (map) matches 100%
4th- Everything is sturdy and it does not 'wobble' (I will give it some more time before I commit to this answer)
5th- It looks amazing!!!!

There is only one thing I am not liking so far about it and that is the space where you will normally would put the cups. The only type of cups that fit here are things like 'flutes' or normal wine cups. Aside from this the space for the bottles is perfect as it is not meant to have too many things in it. (MINI bar)

I will recommend this to anyone having a small space (apartment, room) that wants to have a drink handy and a place to put it that will make up for a good conversation or just something to brag about.

Looking good

I always wanted a globe bar but didn't really want to spend a fortune for a solid wood-hand painted one so I kept looking for cheaper alternatives online. I had this one in my cart for months now not sure if it was worth the money or not. The reviews were (maybe still are) mix, some had pretty terrible experience and some were decent. I finally caved and purchased it as an early Christmas gift.

The product arrived very fast in a huge (not too heavy) box. Inside, all the elements were carefully packaged and nothing broke during transport.

Even though I keep saying I am a strong independent woman, I cannot put anything together or fix anything so I was a bit scared when at first glance I saw how much work this was. Looking over the (very) short instructions, it wasn't as bad as I first imagined, I put everything together (without tools) in about 15/20 minutes.

The globe looks really good overall, I put a few bottles in it already (only 4 could fit inside), a few glasses and a few bottles in the bottom. It looks very expensive even though it isn't. My only 'complain' or comment would be that if you would like to move it somewhere (with to without bottles in it) be vary careful as it feels very flimsy.

So far so good, I haven't had any problems with it, will update the review is anything happens in the next weeks; but in the mean time, I would recommend this product.

Met my expectations for the price.

I've been wanting an authentic antique version of the globe bar for a long time, and I finally decided to grab this as a cheap alternative until I find one that is permanent. I can see why there are some conflicting reviews on this. On the one hand, the build quality is similar to what you'd expect from IKEA (flimsy, but it stands up without leaning on the wall), but on the other hand, it's pretty functional and available at a very low price.

Don't expect a true-to-life map surface on the globe; it looks more or less accurate (i.e. right number of continents) from across the room, but won't stand up to scrutiny. The decals are pre-applied to the globe surface, and based on the reviews I've seen it seems like some of them line up pretty well and others don't. The alignment is pretty terrible on mine; I honestly wish they had just included the decals and let me put them on myself.

Despite the issues, I'm still happy with the purchase overall; it's a nice little conversation piece if you have realistic expectations about what you're getting at this price point. This will hold me over fine until I find a real antique.

Large and holds everything for your own Happy hour ...
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

Do not hesitate to buy this! The quality is outstanding for an extremely reasonable price. I bought a similar globe bar many years ago when they were 3x the price of this item. It was purchased as a gift for my son and I always wanted one for myself. Ignore any negative reviews you might see, this is a top-notch product. It is large and sturdy and holds everything you need for your own Happy Hour. I have 3 decanters and a liqueur bottle in the center bottle well, 2 brandy snifters, 4 rocks glass tumblers, 4 stemless wine goblets, and 2 crystal shot glasses all under the dome plus some swizzle sticks! I also have 3 more liquor decanters on the bottom shelf.

The golden amber glow and the antique look of the piece will add to your decor and it's a great purchase. I am very pleased.

Great quality for the price and nicely packaged.

I have always wanted one of these, but thought they would be too expensive. This is great for the price and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality considering the low price tag. It came nicely packaged and was easy to assemble. It makes a great accent piece in my loft and looks especially nice when I added a few glasses on the bottom rack. There is plenty of room for an ice bucket inside the globe as well and several more glasses. You can turn the globe to the desired position based on your preference, but it does not spin. I don't think you would want it to if you store glassware inside. I am very happy with my purchase.

Dont take a chance, unless you don't mind the possibility of having to return it.

I took a chance on this item after reading the mixed reviews. Right out of the box, the stickers of the map were peeling up in places, on the inside and outside of the globe. There were nicks and few little tears on the stickers. I thought I could just glue them down or something to make it look okay. I continued to put it together and noticed that the bottom tray had about a one inch section that was crushed, not cracked, but the wood was crushed. Still, I thought I could just put that part in the back and it wouldnt be noticeable. I attached the top part of the globe and closed the lid. The lid did not line up correctly, it was off by about half an inch, it didn't fall into the "groove channel" that it should have, I tried adjusting the hinge to try to make it align, but that didn't work. The stain on the legs was also not evenly applied, in a few spots, there was no stain at all, like they didn't spray them all the way or something. Also, the globe itself isn't sealed, the stickers are just paper, I could foresee that any type of liquid would damage the paper. The only good thing I can say about it was that it was easy to take apart and the return/refund process was fast. My expectations weren't high, due to the low price, I wasn't expecting a fine piece of furniture, but I was at least hoping for something that wasn't damaged and functioned properly.

Beautiful and great quality for the price

This little bar is BEAUTIFUL! I bought it as a birthday present for my husband and he was extremely impressed with this piece. The detailing is exquisite, even on the inside of the globe. It was easy to put together, the frame is solid wood, and the globe itself, while initially feeling flimsy, doesn't look it or feel it once it's all put together. There is a surprising amount of storage and overall, it just looks really, really nice.

The review that convinced me to purchase this was the one by Richy Fukushima. It gives a lot of great details and I found what they had to say to be completely accurate. If you're worried about purchasing this, don't. It's classy, sturdy, and a great addition to any home bar, study, den, or office.
