The boat itself is not fitted with handles to lift it for draining or moving, not good since the short version manual sates this needs to be done. The motor lifting spring mechanism does not raise the motor high enough into the hull to prevent damage, thus the prop is in danger of getting broken off anytime the boat is moved. The drain plug once removed is impossible to put back in place, all rubber and no way to push it back in. The instructions to put it together are laughable and unclear. The hatch cover over the battery compartment will fly open when you are moving, no latch for it. The hull is so flimsy that you are told (in the manual) not to move the boat with the approx. 25 lb battery in, if this is true how can it hold 5 people? It is really inconvenient to keep lifting the battery in and out just to move or drain the boat. The manufacturer needs to go back to the drawing board. I await Amazon's reply.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! If i can spare any other family the same event that happened to mine I will do what I can. It is advertized as a 5 person paddle boat with capacity of 545lbs. so everyone would have to be 100 lbs or less. I took mine out the first time with my parents. (3 people within weight limit) Thankfully I did follow the advice if buying safety vests and floatation seats. After a beautiful 20 minute ride we were heading back to my dock. only 1/4 mile away the water just started seeping into the back and then gushed capsizing the whole boat. My retired aged parents and me with Cystic Fibrosis (lung disease). I have pictures to show the water was perfectly still that day and the sky was clear. No storms on the way etc. The manufacturer has the battery located in the back. The battery must be at least 90lbs of dead / solid weight. That is the only thing i can think of that made this event happen. After being under the assumption that a simple paddle boat is basically safe..... We found ourselves fighting to life. I was hit on the head with the boat and knocked under and upon surfacing was still under the boat. I have 20% lung capacity so don't ask me how i managed to get out alive. After being fire and rescue saved us and rushed us to the ER, we found that My father suffered a minor heart attack and was in the hospital for 4 days. My mother faired ok but had water in her lungs. My point is. There is something seriously wrong with the way this boat is designed if it could sink as easy and fast as it did with only 3 people in it. My fear is another family, maybe a mother, father and two children....I can't even imagine.... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOAT. I took every precaution the manual told me to and my whole family was almost killed. AGAIN I STRESS.... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOAT. Please review pictures I took just prior to the boat sinking... you will see.... everything was so beautiful and going so perfect... and BAM!!!

Falsely advertised. Does not function properly. No way does it seat 5 people unless they are extremely small in stature. trolling motor is of very poor quality. Finally, you have to try to get a title for this so you can be permitted to use it in public waters since KL Industries in Michigan who sell this boat among others, does not give you a title, as is customary business practice. Do not buy this nor any other Sun Dolphin/KL Industries product, unless you want to be greatly disappointed and waste your hard earned money.

GREAT SOLID BOAT!

We bought a home on a small 8 acre lake and purchased this boat to "putz" around with. I found the boat to be extremely stable and loads of fun. We take take 2 adults and 2 nieces aboard and find that the boat is remarkably fast and steerable. The pedals move while the boat is under electric power so the adults just "lounge" with our feet on the side of the boat staying free of the pedals. I own a 42' triple engine cigarette boat in Grand Haven, MI and had discovered this pedal boat is mfg'd in Muskegon, MI. Obtaining spare parts for this boat was extremely easy and economical. The boat uses very little amperage at the lower settings which allow quite a bit of cruising time. The amperage use at "full tilt" was appx 27amps. This will draw the battery down quickly, but we find cruising in the middle speed range is more relaxing and greatly extends the battery life. A DC clamp on meter was used to measure current draw. Its beautiful, runs like a dream, quiet, and easy to operate.

there were some delays but I was compensated for my inconvenience.

We can pedal, or use the electric motor. Even has reverse and 5 speeds.

love it !
