Returning. Coating came off onto food on FIRST use!
by Sandi (1 out of 5 stars)

I just got this quesadilla maker today, and tonight I used it for the first time. The coating on the inside surface came off, onto my quesadilla. I didn't even notice until I was almost done eating the whole thing, because it was on the bottom of the quesadilla and I just happened to flip the last piece over. So thanks guys, I probably just ingested some toxic chemicals, and fed some more to my husband and my 5 year old son. I will be returning this, obviously.

Probably not the best but gets the job done

It makes pretty darn good crispy quesadilla's.

Pro-Tip: Make sure it's completely level before closing the lid to melt the cheese, the cheese seeks it's way to the lowest edge and oozes out, causing a burnt cheesy mess where the cheese contacts the plate.

Also, use cooking spray or a light coating of oil to help crisp the tortilla and also helps as a release agent for anything on the hot plate.

Spanish teacher gives them away as graduation gifts
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

My wife is a high school Spanish teacher. During the school year, she rewards the students with "Quesadilla Days" after long periods of hard work. She might drill a section for a few weeks and then offer a reward. She brings in her quesadilla makers and the kids make them and eat them. When her students eventually graduate, if they finished thru Spanish 5, she gets them a quesadilla maker (like this one) as a graduation present. So, this year, we ordered over a dozen of these for graduation gifts. The kids love them and take them to college for quick, easy, and inexpensive snacking.

NOT TOO GOOD AT MAKING ANYTHING

Alton Brown warns us against uni-taskers -- he is correct . This thing must be temperamental -- I can't get it to make golden brown and delicious quesadillas with ANY fillings -- they just ooze out, and yes I've spread everything our evenly, and yes it was small amounts. It's annoying. I want to stop using my pans because it's messy, but this thing just is not doing it for me.

For the price, it's decent.

It works... but you get what you get for the price of it.... It seals around the outside of the quesadilla but I have to use a pizza cutter to get the actual triangle slits. Heats up quick... is easy to clean... works for what I got it for. I recommend it just because of how easy it is to use and clean for the price paid.

Faster than my microwave!

Wow does this heat up fast! I found the best way to use it was to wipe oil on it with a paper towel and then lay my tortillas with cheese in the middle while it's cold. I close the lid and then turn it on. By the time the green 'ready' light turns on , the quesadilla is ready!

Crunchy on the outside, HOT and gooey on the inside! Great for a dorm room and easy to keep clean with the non stick coating,

My Favorite Kitchen Appliance

I have two of these, one for home and one for our vacation home. I love how easy it is to clean. Most times it's just wipe with a dry paper towel and then a slightly damp paper towel. It makes very good quesadillas and I like experimenting with different ingredients. My friends tried mine and ordered one of their own. We are planning a month long trip in an RV and I can't imagine going that long without this quesadilla maker so I am ordering a 3rd. You can't beat the price!

Hard to clean
by regina (2 out of 5 stars)
February 25, 2016

I thought this would be great but I'm disappointed. It heats up well and after the metal burns off and stinks up the kitchen you can try to make one but don't use to much filling or it runs all out the sides and over everything. It didn't seal up the tortilla shells very well on the outside. And it's extremely hard to clean since the plate doesn't come out for cleaning. Only thing about it is it's cute.

nice, but on "off" button
by Taliswoman (3 out of 5 stars)
March 13, 2019

My biggest issue with this is that there is no OFF button. Also, it is very hard to see the "ready" light unless you are standing right over it. I don't like the fact that I have to put all the ingredients on while the thing is super hot, but I understand why. It does make very good quesadillas once you get over all the issues it has with it, but if you're looking for something easy to use, I'd go somewhere else.

Junk
by Mr.Azik (1 out of 5 stars)
April 8, 2014

Bought one the previous year and the latch broke. Thinking I was too rough, I bought another one. Same result, just like Einstein predicted. Closed it with food in it and it broke the exact same way in less than 2 months. Terrible quality. I understand you get what you pay for, but this was unreasonably flimsy. The kicker is when I called their customer service line, they told me to take it to a small appliance repair shop. Perhaps they didn't realize it's a $20 quesadilla maker, or maybe they thought it's 1964. Either way, I'll be steering clear of this brand in the future.
