This globe is astounding and beautiful. It's the only one that I know of that will rotate the earth on its axis IN REAL TIME, angle the axis according to the ACTUAL DATE, AND show which areas of the earth are getting sun right now.

I was a little nervous that the writing on the globe would be in French, (like it is on the picture and in other pictures I've seen) but I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw it was in english.

It does make a bit of noise while it is running, but I think it sounds rather pleasant, a good white noise. You can also turn off the light while keeping the earth rotating so there's no need to reset the time (unless you have a power outage).

One of the neatest items I've ever purchased and I plan on making it a staple display in our home for many years to come.

This is a lot bigger than I expected - my fault for not reading the description. I expected a 4" glass globe or something. This is a full-sized globe made of plastic. It's absolutely gorgeous and seems to keep time pretty well. It's not a clock, so don't plan to use it as one. But it definitely keeps time and accurately tracks the sun's position. It's absolutely gorgeous. Especially with the lights off in the room and this glowing. It makes a little bit of noise, but nothing that can't be tuned out. It reminds me of when the upstairs neighbor is running his dish washer. Just a quiet, persistent whoosh.

My 5 years old son and i enjoy looking at it. He will always turn the lights on to see what the other side of the world doing if they're awake or sleeping (my son's word). The time and date is very accurate. It makes a little noise but it doesn't bother me. I wish it was a little cheaper but overall good purchased!

Very very happy with this globe. The instructions were in Spanish. I figured it out. Only stays lit for half an hour. I thought I blew the bulb. Just gave it some time and it lit up again. It's not "noisey" but you can hear it. Very pleased

Defective wiring for light bulb and on/off switch.

Light bulb went out. My husband took the entire thing apart too conclude that it is an electrical problem. To much juice going to the bulb causing it to short out. Even if I could find a replacement bulb ( which I can't. I spent hours looking for one) the same thing would be sure to happen within just a few minutes.

Also, it is very noisy. Louder than my wall clock.
