Love this gadget, even though I hate kitchen clutter.

I hate kitchen gadgets that clutter up drawers and rarely get used, but I love this thing. We always use sliced strawberries mixed with sugar instead of syrup on pancakes/waffles, so this thing is a serious time saver, since I go heavy on the strawberries. The big ones I just cut in half before putting them in. I've also put chunks of banana in there, to slice on top of my cereal.

The blades are sharper than I expected, so I think a brush is essential for cleaning, to avoid cutting yourself. My nieces also enjoy helping me in the kitchen with this contraption.

I wouldn't mind having a second one, so that I'd have a back-up when the current one breaks (although I've had my current one for 3 years and minimally use it a few times a month). Would buy one again in a heart beat, even gave one as a gift.

I love this for slicing strawberries - The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that is my second slicer because the first one broke. It helps to grab the front with one hand as you squeeze the trigger with the other to keep the plastic from cracking.

Works like a charm!

I purchased this item from Amazon 4 years ago and it still works like a charm! I use it at least twice a week. It works fabulous on strawberries but I use it most on mushrooms. Tip: It looks like you would hold the tool so that the food to be sliced goes into the top of the chamber but I found it works best if you turn it over and put the food in from the bottom (I hope this makes sense). Anyway, I love this tool and highly recommend it! And, of course, I highly recommend purchasing from Amazon!

Amazing!

This thing is amazing. Slices strawberries and blueberries and I bet it would slice grapes like a champ too. This makes the pieces pretty much incapable of choking my 2 year old. I wish I would have found it long ago.

I always keep it out of reach of the kids bc I could see it hurting their little fingers if they got ahold of it. Even in the sink I leave a utensil if some kind in it so it can't close.

BETTER THAN SLICED BREAD!

I never knew I needed this until I got this. I can slice a while basket of berries for breakfast now in just a couple minutes. I cut off the stem and then pop it in and it spits it right out. Dare I say it's also helped me eat healthier? I've found myself snacking more on berries than chips because I can make a little bowl so fast. No problems cleaning it by hand. It's a slick little device.

I bought a different slicer first that I returned. This one is worth the price! Works really well!!

Update: after months of using it this still works great!! My husband makes fun of me for my cool kitchen gadgets but when he used this the other day to slice olives (works really well for that) even he commented on how easy and fun it was to use!

I love this for slicing strawberries

I love this for slicing strawberries!!! I hulled 4 quarts of strawberries for Easter and then it took me less than 5 minutes to slice them. The slices were uniform making for a prettier cheesecake. All of the mess I associate with slicing strawberries, the juices running down my arm, the stained cutting board and clean-up do not happen with this. This is my new favorite small fruit gadget and I am a gadget junkie. I would recommend to everyone:)

Stawberry Slicer Works
by JMSDOC (4 out of 5 stars)
August 20, 2019

this product works but if you try to put a large strawberry in it forget it. You will either make a mess or get frustrated. You may need to cut the larger ones down so that the slicer works. I had to do that when preparing a salad for 100 people. It added time but the berries looked great once cut. So I like the product. But you have to watch the size of the strawberries you are cutting.
