Cool for you. Uncool for fish.by Kent M Koren (1 out of 5 stars)

This was just one of those things that looks cool and interesting but when you get it. It's just dumb. You can't see the fish at all. No light really gets in the bowl. And it's really small. And my fish died a week after being put in this. So....yeah. Overpriced too for a gimmick.
cool, chic tank

This tank is not big enough for a fish!! Do some reading on tank and fish size before purchasing this. I use it for holding to keep my betta while I clean his 5 gallon tank or it can be used as a medicine tank as well if your fish gets sick. It should not be used for daily living!!
Pretty but awful

Would give this 0 stars if I could. This is NOT a suitable home for a betta fish, no matter what some of the reviewers think. I agree that this is a super cute design, but maybe if they sold it in a size that actually holds more than 3 gallons of water. If you're reading this because you're considering getting one for a fish, please please please, listen to me:
Fish are living creatures! And bettas can live for five years if given the right conditions. They deserve to have space to swim around in, plus a heater and a filter so they can enjoy warm, clean water. Your fish will be so happy and look so so pretty if you give them a little love. You can by a much bigger tank for a whole lot less and design it any way you'd like. You could even recreate this look with a little bit of plastic and epoxy.
Please don't buy this tank if you like fish.
Another Example of Betta Cruelty!

Shame on designer Teddy Luong for perpetuating cruelty to Bettas by designing a tank that is too small for the Bettas optimal health and happiness. And shame on Amazon, as well as Petsmart, Petco, and other retallers that sell this and other ridiculously small containers that they label as "Betta Homes." People assume because you can buy them that they are acceptable, but that is not the case. If your Betta is not active (and obviously it can't be active in a container this size) and if it is not blowing bubble nests it is neither happy nor healthy!
Better for a house plant

Got this for a beta, never had one prior to this. Not any room for them to move not to mention no filtration. Went and got him a 5 gallon tank with a filter and a light for less money and now he can actually move around. So now this is being used for a house plant.
This is a TERRIBLE home for a fish

This is a TERRIBLE home for a fish. A betta needs BARE MINIMUM 2.5 gallons, a heater, a filter, hides, and places to rest. Not only that, ammonia buildup in this thing will kill a fish very quickly. Please do not buy this for a fish.
Doesn't even deserve one star.

Please do not buy this! It is too small for any fish!! Do research on your breed of fish before buying an aquarium. Bettas will NOT be happy in this. I keep my bettas in a 5.5 minimum gallon tank. Don't be cruel, your fishes entire world is the environment that you are responsible to put them in.
Please dont abuse your fish

Please do not put your fish in this, betta or otherwise. I am begging you, your fish might "live" in this so called tank but it will be a miserable life, where it will be depressed, cold, and literally burning in it's own waste unless you do 100% water changes every week.
I can assure you that almost everything that you know about bettas is probably a lie. There's a lot of misinformation about bettas out there, and a shocking amount of people who believe that all bettas need to survive is a small bowl of water, some food, and a water change once a month. Did you know, with the proper care, Betta fish can live up to 5-7 years? Wow! That's way longer than the general thought 1-2 year lifespan, isn't it? They truly are amazing creatures.
Speaking of myths- did you know the belief that they prefer small spaces and dirty water is also false? You see, if you're looking into getting a betta, the smallest tank you should go for is about two and a half gallons, but trust me on this- go for a five gallon. Your fish will come alive with so much personality- I myself just upgraded my boy Pepper from his 2.5 to a 5 gallon and let me tell you- he has never been zippier. He's constantly exploring and moving, it's a lot of fun to watch him :) But he would never be able to move like that in something as small as this bowl :( Instead he would probably sit on the bottom and perhaps tailbite out of frustration.
As for the dirty water myth- if your water is visibly dirty, then it is actually burning the fish. You see, when fish breathe and waste, they create ammonia in the water, which is toxic to them. In a tiny bowl like this, you'd have to be doing 100% water changes every single day in order for your fish to be safe from the ammonia, and even that isn't ideal- all those water changes will really stress your little buddy out :(
Also- did you know betta fish are tropical animals? They are used to waters that are in the temperature range of 75-80 degrees. You may say "my house is never cold so i dont need a heater!" but, please, think about it this way- water will always be a few degrees lower than room temperature- in order to keep your betta's home warm, your house would have to constantly be at 80p degrees! And that doesn't account for temperature rises and drops- which can send betta into shock!
Which brings us to our next point, you cannot safely heat a tank unless it is at least 2.5 gallons, which is why it's the minimum tank recommended.
bettas are super fun and zippy little buddies when given the chance to be- my pepper follows my finger and even begs for food! It's really cute :)
So please consider passing on this tank for now, and investing in a more suitable home for your fish! The only creature that could survive in this is a snail.
Insufficiently sized, right angled-container with nothing of sensory interest ...

Insufficiently sized, right angled-container with nothing of sensory interest is a hellish box for fish. Besides, it leaks and gets slimy fast.
Tank will need to be replaced after a year.

Ok so I have this fish tank 2 stars. A year later I am reviewing the product as I am sitting here watching it leak without ever being damaged. I guess the lifespan of this tank is a year! And that's just terrible. I never cracked it, dropped it or anything yet it is losing water and now I have to get another tank. It's very appealing and definitely a conversation starter. I purchased it after seeing it on one of my favorite shows- being Mary Jane. It's a cute tank and exactly what's Pictured is what you will get. Just be prepared to replace the tank after a year. I don't know about you, but I don't recall having to replace a regular tank in my past life.
