The Spy Bolt is an updated and improved version of the old Soviet KGB "dead drop" hollow bolt used during the Cold War. It features an O-ring seal for weather-proof storage of small valuables, communications, etc. Simple, ingenious design is essential for the concealable gadgets spy work calls for. The Spy Bolt fits the bill perfectly. This device utilizes a ½" diameter bolt providing a larger storage area than the original. It also features reverse threading on the bolt head for additional security. BONUS only in 4.8 cubic inch bolt: The larger, 4.8 cubic inch bolt now comes with 2 storage containers that fit neatly inside of the bolt. Use is optional, but these containers can come in handy if you'd like to keep more than one item separate within the bolt. The containers feature a water tight plastic screw top and durable glass transparent body. Capacity of each container is 4mL.

I sincerely hope the manufacturer realizes this misleading issue and has the integrity to make this right!

Product blends in perfectly. Hopefully I won't ever have to put it to the test! But if I do I have no doubt it will not be found. However the title of this spy bolt states specifically
"large & small"

As in other products that offer more than one size, you have the opportunity to choose which you want small, med, large / 10oz, 12oz, 14oz etc....

With this product it doesn't give u an option to choose which size, giving the customer the assumption that it includes both.

So needless to say I was very disappointed when opening the package and only received one.

Pretty cool. Note to those who can't get it apart: it is threaded "backwards", so twist the opposite direction you think. Mine didn't come with anything inside, bummer, and it's a bit pricey for what you get. Probably make my own in the future now that I have one to work from.

Not Stainless Steel composition

Sorry folks but after receiving and looking at this I doubted if it was made from stainless. Also I found other vendors selling the same Spy Bolt manufactured by Shomer-Tec and advertised it as plain steel. So I contacted Shomer-Tec and was told they do not make the Spy Bolt in stainless - it is made from an actual plain steel bolt, usually made overseas, and tooled out to final Spy Bolt format in the USA (Washington state). Just giving it a 4 rating since it is still a great item and well made. I think the seller just has to advertise the composition correctly.

No matter what you gotta hide, this does the trick. I have also installed a ny-lock nut on the threaded end to facilitate easy removal and replacement of the hex end. I keep it in my toolbox with other nuts & bolts and it is completely camouflaged in the box. I installed the nut to add to the weight so it doesn't seem too light upon cursory investigation. Ny-lock is great, as it doesn't come off when using the left-hand threaded cap.

A lot bigger than I pictured. Looks like a normal bolt. The left hand threads are a great touch. I'm going to rough it up with a wire brush, leave it out for a bit to get some weather and nobody will be wise to it.

This is everything it needs to be. It's a perfect stealthy way to hide your valuables and or secrets just for you. And could even be made to look like it's really being used. Bought for a friend and he absolutely loves it.
