Blown Away by Canned Bacon!by Janelle (5 out of 5 stars)

Had to try this to add to our "emergency food". Was so curious I brought a can to work to open and have everyone try.......A truck shop with mechanics and drivers-they could not believe it. When I was pulling it out of the can we were amazed by how much bacon was actually there, so crazy. The taste is incredible, just fresh lean bacon-the best part is that it is not cheap, fatty bacon. I was completely blown away, I thought the reviewers going on and on about how great it was had to be crazy-bacon in a can? Not so, I am now one of those people amazed at the quality of this "canned bacon". I will be adding more to our emergency food reserves or to just have on hand for unexpected bacon cravings.

I got my order today and 4 cans were dented. 2 chicken chunks and 2 of the turkey chunks. Now I cannot keep them for long term safely! Not happy at $154 a case that they would come dented!
This stuff is legit!

Bacon in a can is now going to be a staple of my survival kit and a routine addition to my diet. This stuff came out better than I thought it would. Fresh, delicious, bacon. Doesn't hurt to throw it in the oven for a few minutes to crisp up some, but great straight from the can as well.
It's bacon in a can

I just received my order today and I love the fact that I now have a stash of "instant bacon". In fact I bought this with some well rated instant egg mix in addition to some canned bread, cheeses and butter.
The case I got today had the camo labels I've seen in other reviews for this product instead of the ones showing here (not that I'm disappointed).
The bacon was awesome. I snacked on 4-5 pieces and am thinking of many ways to use it for cooking.
The reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is that I was really looking forward to counting out 50-52 pieces of bacon and the can that I chose to open only had 38 pieces in it. I'm not sure if this is just a weight thing our not. They were impressive pieces of bacon. I don't plan on opening any more for test purposes.
You also get 3 sheets of heavily bacon grease soaked pieces of waxed paper measuring about 15" x 9" which I can think of a number of uses for.
Amazing BACON.

Amazing, this is so good. I couldn't believe how many strips of cooked bacon were in this can! Would be perfect for camping...
Good price and good backup or emergency food

Amazon's calculated cost ($20.00 / ounce) is INCORRECT! At $179.99 for 12 cans (full case) of Yoders Canned Bacon, it's $15.00 per can. At 9 ounce per can, that's $1.67 per ounce, much better than the mistaken $20 per ounce.
Each can has a lot of bacan and make's the $15 per can really worth it. I started one can to see what it's like. To make it easier to get it out of the can, open both ends, remove the top lid, and push on the opened bottom "lid" of the can to push the packaged bacon out enough to pull it out. Each layer of waxed paper has many slices of reasonably lean pre-cooked bacon. Even thought it's 9 ounces, it's still a lot of bacon because they remove a lot of fat in the precooking. I'd guess I'd have to purchase and cook about 4 pounds of fresh bacon from the store to get enough bacon equal to what is in one 9 ounce can of Yoders Bacon. So far we consumed only about 18 slices of Yoders bacon and there are about 30 or so slices remain in the refrigerator.
The taste is fairly good considering it can be stored long term. It's pre-cooked evenly, no burned parts and no uncooked fat - I wish I could cook bacon that well! Yoder's bacon is easy to heat in the microwave to eat from a bowl or can be heated when cut up and mixed into canned beans. Both taste good and make it tempting to use up the emergency food for everyday food.
I purchased the Yoders 12 can for emergency food and for backup food for times when food from the store runs out and nobody wants to make a special trip to the store. The long shelf life make this product much better that what I've found at many local stores I've shopped at.
The 12-can package arrived in perfect condition, none of the cans were dented. The case was packed in a box with air-filled plastic. The large air bubbles can easily be deflated and discarded and the box easily folded and put in recycle items.
Good bacon but....$$$$$!

This is really good bacon but the price has gotten ridiculous! The case I bought was $155.00 and thought that was high. I bought it for camping and emergency food but one day I needed bacon for a recipe and didn't want to run to the store so I opened a can. I was very pleased with the quality of the bacon and the way it was prepared...If I were to place a fresh cooked piece next to this I couldn't not tell which was which. That all said...there is no bacon on earth worth $22.00 per 9 ounce can. If it ever goes down in price (by $10.00 or more) I will buy it again. I'm going to covet the rest of the case and keep it for emergencies only.
Hmmmm, bacon!

I'm retired and really hate to schlep groceries so I am ordering everything I can on line, coffee, canned vegetables, paper towels and now bacon. The slices are very thin but there are approximately 50 per can. To translate that into real world terms it takes about 5 slices to make a decent BLT. It takes a minute to a minute and a half in the microwave to crisp it up and it is delicious.
I think it's a good value, when you consider the cooked weight of the Yoders against slabs of raw bacon, add in the convenience of home delivery the Yoders wins for me. Guess I'd better think about reordering, I'm down to my last 9 cans!
Love It

I really like this product. Even though it's fully cooked before they stick it in the can, heating it makes it taste better. Be sure to fully drain the juice from the can before you use or else it won't taste right. I will continue to purchase this product because it's easy to use.
Pricey but great quality

It's pricey but worth having on hand. Great for camping or the cabin. It crisps up quickly in the pan, and one can contains quite a lot. This is our second case and I will continue to order as long as I can afford it.
