Works greatby Amazonian pal (5 out of 5 stars)

I just got this the other day. It's exactly what I was looking for. E price was perfect and it works perfect. It's very powerful. It has a light dimmer too on the bottom. I can using this as a flashlight almost, it's that bright. It made so e what cheaply so not sure how long it will last but for the price if I get a year out of it, it was a bargain. I like adjustable arm, it works well and you can adjust the angle of the light part too. The only thing at would make it even better beside stronger build would be if the clip part was thinner or the adjustable arm was a an inch or two taller. It used AAA batteries so I guess that's why it has to be so thick.. But at least the batteries will last long.. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase..
Don't look into the light!

Seriously though, this will blind you. I have LED flashlights with only 6 LEDs and they're extremely bright....Well....This has 12. (Description says 16, though i only see 12. ) And really...it only needs 12. This is insanely bright!
Overall a great light, but only 4 stars because the body just feels a bit cheap. Which is fine, because it has 1 simple task: illuminate my books, and it does this, quite well.
Bulky and made of plastic

I have been needing a book light so that I can read in the evening when your trying to sleep. I thought this would be a perfect option. But it's very bulky and was was a bit difficult to use on small paperbacks and even with soft cover books.
Maybe it'll work for you when it didn't for me.q
Some pros, some significant cons

Briefly, here's what I like about this light:
* Bright. It can produce a lot of light.
* Adjustable brightness. If I want it to be dimmer, it can be, up to a point.
Here's what I dislike:
* Uses power even when turned off.
* The slider is too stiff, which makes it very hard to dim it past a certain point.
* Terrible battery compartment design. One end of each battery is recessed into the body of the device, making it difficult to install batteries and even harder to remove them. And they're very snug. This is particularly problematic given how often you have to change them.
And the battery cover feels kind of flimsy to me.
* Poor overall usability.
That last one bears further explanation. There are several general usability issues:
* Because this device uses a slip-over clip instead of a squeeze-to-loosen-style clip as most book lights do, turning pages is harder. You have to remove the device, line up the pages, and slide it back on.
* Because it only slides over a limited number of pages, it doesn't feel very solid, and you're always worrying about it falling off the book.
* Because this device has a fairly short arm, it doesn't work very well at reading the opposing page.
Great little reading light, could have more dim settings

I love the shape, the sliding on-off button, and the swiveling part that the light is on. I like that it folds. What I don't like, is the lowest setting: I can't get it as dim as I'd like. It goes from off, to very briefly (sometimes) too dim to even read, to suddenly so bright that I wake up my baby sleeping nearby.

Too many problems with this extremely tiny light.
Could be an glitch one I got but, the pic shows it upside down. To get the full range of positions, the clip, which is on the bottom, is on the top and the battery pack, where the dimmer is, is on the bottom.
It has a paper label over the battery pack cover, which got hot with the light, making the glue on the label go through the label and the entire light sticky to the touch.
It's not as bright as I thought it would be and the dimmer is just lower version, giving it two light settings, not really working as a dimmer.
As others have commented, the plastic is very cheap quality.
I've tried a few reading lights and might try another though I'm leaning more toward an actual table style and adding a dimmer extension to it.
This one was a waste of money for my needs & I'd recommend other clip lights over this one because it was just so sticky!
Amazon was very quick and helpful to refund.
Works very well. Dimmer switch rocks.

This device is smaller than I had pictured it, but it works very well.
The entire device folds up into a small rectangle about 3 inches by 3 inches by 1 inch thick.
The clip is nice and solid and the arms can be adjusted in 2 places.
The device has a dimmer switch that gives infinite adjustment between a fairly low light level and a pretty strong light. The dimmer isn't that amazing quality-wise but you generally will find 1 level that works for you and go with it. Most devices only let you pick between a few discrete levels (usually by only turning on a portion of their multiple LEDs). Hence the dimmer switch is a relatively rare feature and much appreciated.
The LEDS are pretty blueish like on the cheapo 9-LED flashlights for a buck. They aren't nice Nichia 5mm white ones. This isn't a problem for me, but some like a much warmer light.
The arms adjust so that you can turn pages easily without the arm interfering. This is a big deal! Many lights expect you to move them every time you turn a page! Unless you are the slowest reader ever, that is a huge pain.
All in all, Ive been quite happy with it.
Very decent reading light

I was worried about having the whole page lighted (so that I don't have to adjust the light every paragraph, this product's brightness and (wide) angle is more than enough to read even oversized books comfortably (read several hundreds using this already, without any eye-strain). The product i s not rock-sturdy, but for the price the build quality is decent.

Great product while size was small but that's my fault of not seeing the dimensions.
Such good light, I don't need my reading glasses when I use it.

I like that the light has a dimmer switch so I can adjust it if it's bothering my husband. The light emitted is white and bright. It's such good light that I don't need to use my reading glasses when I use it. Very pleased with this product. Before purchasing the Kikkerland, I had tried several different types of reading lights and none of them ever fit the bill. The others seemed dim, cheaply made or poorly designed. I finally feel like a made the right choice.
