Used for waterfall
by Bonnie D (5 out of 5 stars)

I used this for a waterfall in my pond. I have a pond pump (PP80016: 800 GPH submersible high lift pond pump from PonicsFarm) and water tubing located under the slab of rock to push water through the Gargoyle rain guard. I moved some of the rocks so you can see how I attached a cork in the back with a hole to put the tubing through.

Not So Ferocious Dragon
by PennyPincher (5 out of 5 stars)

Really cute, without being precious. I chose the dragon since I enjoy the irony in how this one breathes water instead of fire! It actually serves a purpose here; our downspout has a 4-ft long extension that would come loose and blow across the yard whenever we got sturdy winds. Unfortunately, most often those winds come when a storm is blowing in, sending the downspout out where it is useless at the very time it is needed. This has enough weight to act as an anchor, keeping the spout where it should be. After a heavy rain, only a tablespoon or so of water remains pooled inside which was something I was concerned about when I made the purchase. I do not want to provide mosquitoes with a place for them to set up a maternity ward. Dragon boy has proven to be worth the price, and he gets along surprisingly well with the large gecko population we have.

Great adds to the down spout extensions

Bought the Toscano Darian the Dragon after having bought the Roland the Gargoyle a few years ago from a different source. Darian is about 2/3 the size of Roland and, as others have stated, we had to compress the existing fitting to get it into his butt. It took two of us to get it done, but managed. He does stay put and is a very welcome addition to our down spout. The opening for Roland makes inserting the down spout a much easier task. Glad have the duo and since they are not next to each other the difference is not noticeable.

Ranier the Gargoyle

This may be a novel use for Ranier, but here he is feeding the inlet to my rainwater catchment. He just been up a few hours, but so far looks great.

Cute- no downspout fits it
by Garden Lady (4 out of 5 stars)

So these are great Gargoyles, but they do not come even sort of close to holding the size downspout that they claim to accommodate. I attached plastic extendable downspout drains in the recommended size to go in the Gargoyles. The plastic downspouts were intended to get water further from my foundation, and I still had to cut them & try to cram them in the back. I'll end up having to get super tape to attach them. The manufacturer could easily fix this. Who wants a Gargoyle with an open back & missing backend if not for this purpose?!?

Looks perfect, seems rugged enough.

This gargoyle was clearly inspired by the gargoyles on the Notre Dame Cathedral. I modified it to cover the outlet pipe from a sump by cutting off the back just behind the wings, then using spray foam to secure a pipe collar inline with the mouth. The gargoyle is hollow and has a shell which varies greatly in thickness, but this should never be a problem when it is used as intended on a rain gutter.

I was installing this gargoyle when I learned Notre Dam was burning; what are the odds of that?

Detailed, Awesome, Terrifying, and Very Solid!

This thing weighs almost as much as a can of paint. It's very solid and the detail is amazing. I'm sure it will terrify everyone who walks by in the dark. 😂

My only concern is that it may be stolen because it looks so ornate. I'm going to try and secure it to the concrete. Will update with a placed pic in a few weeks. May also paint the eyes red.

Cute, but does NOT fit over the down spot well :o(
by lobobolo (3 out of 5 stars)

It's really cute, but the opening on the dragon is smaller then the rain gutter which you have to pinch and squeeze to get the dragon on so unless you want to destroy you down spot to get in on properly the dragon will only sit on the end on the gutter and will stick out another 6 or so inches from the very end on the down spout! This makes it very easy to trip over.

Ferociously adorable
by R. Martin (5 out of 5 stars)

Got this on a whim and I am glad I did. The piece is fairly heavy and nicely detailed. It is a really fun addition to the side of the house where the rain gutter is. Now I am inspired to landscape a bit there to show off this little guy! As a bonus, I think he's scared off some of the critters too--squirrels are keeping their distance!

Gutter was a little tight to squeeze into the opening, but I think that may be by design to keep this statue in place. Was an easy fix to crimp in the gutter a bit so it all fit together.
