It worked well when it was intact. Pizza came out pretty good but I didn't think it was anything super special compared to my metal tray. Then one day I went to pick it up to make more pizza, the stone broke in half and shattered on the floor. I had no idea what happened and was dumbfounded. Perhaps I didn't treat it right? I don't know. I tried very hard to not put this stone under undue stress, but guess I must have done something wrong. Lasted less than one year. I think I'll stick to my metal pans for longevity sake.

When we were shopping for a Pizza Stone, we never thought we would find something this nice, and $10-$20 cheaper than our local kitchen goods store.

One of the things I really like about this Pizza Stone is that it is glazed on one side. Also, it is Top Rack Dishwasher-Safe, which is REALLY nice since our previous stone was not, and did seem to collect stains and discolorations. It can be used in an Oven or on the Grill (which is pretty darn cool). Emile Henry makes a lot of stoneware kitchen tools, and they are sold at fancy kitchen stores like Sur la Table and Williams-Sonoma. If this Pizza Stone gives up the ghost in the future, we would likely replace it with the same thing.

this stone has become indispensable. pizza comes out crisp & perfect. clean up is a breeze. functionally it is super easy (with no possible messes) as of the handles to place a pizza into the oven - i always struggled placing it directly onto the rack. multiple uses - i have found it can be a hot plate (those are boiling working glasses of pickled ginger and in that picture i had cooked 3 pizzas already so one can see it cleans up like new).

We received this beautiful pizza stone today and made a 13" pizza for dinner. Finally, after owning at least a dozen different pizza stones and pans, pizza nirvana was reached! Using 00 pizza flour and par-baking the crust the final pizza took about 5 minutes to cook. The crust was perfectly crisp on the bottom and chewy on top and supported every topping we threw on it. At first, it seemed a bit overpriced at $60 but well worth the cost. I'm dreaming of the next pizza creation and highly recommend this incredible pizza stone.

This is a really good pizza stone. We had this for over a year and probably used it every two weeks. I was sad when one day it rolled out of our cabinet and broke. Just bought a new one (same exact one) because we liked it so much. Like the other reviewers said - I would only use it in the oven and be careful when handling it. The handles are a must too - how else are you expected to take it out of the oven?!

AMAZING! I hate the look of used pizza stones... just one of my hang ups since they always look dirty. I got excited when I saw the finish on this one and thought I'd give it a try! Money well spent! Stuff doesn't stick too badly to the surface... and the things (cheese) that do, is very easy to remove. This is the first pizza stone I have ever had that browns and crisps the crust (my favorite part of a pizza) perfectly every time!

This works ok, I haven't had any problem with it breaking so far like others, but I've only had it for a few months and I try to always leave it in the oven to cool slowly.

I was very disappointed that it arrived scratched all to hell though. It obviously came from the mfg that way, so no consideration points given. That kind of thing should never be allowed to ship from a factory.

If you are even remotely serious about pizza, flatbread, etc - get this!

Ive had a couple of the unglazed pizza stones in the past and they are just such stainy pains in the tookus... I'd ultimately wind up not using them. Why? Because I was a cheapskate. Or, I wasn't super sure spending $50 would be money well spent.... well, let me tell you IT IS MONEY WELL SPENT!!!!!!

Crisps up SO nicely (provided you are patient and preheat it correctly to begin with. please do.)... cleans SO well... and stays clean. I've had mine in very regular use for over two years and I would still be perfectly comfortable putting it on the table in front of guests.

Also makes great "flatbread pizza" from wholewheat pitas. nom nom nom nom

Even if you make frozen pizza this thing is worth it. I had a pampered chef one and the second it gets dirty you're screwed. This one has a glazed finish that any cheese that melts off the side wipes right away. Flours don't burn on for making bread. It's worth every penny

In the past I have used pizza stones for pizza and bread. Due to arthritis in my hands I was unable to move the stones (I had 2, one for each oven). I really didn't miss them too much as my sourdough baking was over. Then several months ago I got Artisan bread making in 5 minutes a day, and I have loved using this dough for pizza and bread. After reading Amazon reviews I decided to try Emile Henry due to customer satisfaction and the lighter weight of this stone.

I received the item today. It was so well packaged! Within 15 minutes I had stone in oven with a pizza baking on top. This is (so far) one great stone. Crust was crisp and thin and baked uniformly from edge to middle of pie.

Can't wait to try artisan free formed bread.

Oh ,yes it looks good too.
