Great novelty itemby Mark Twain (4 out of 5 stars)

This comb is a really neat present or cool gift, or just item to have hanging around. It definitely gets look from people, and can even scare friends or family for a second, until they see you combing your beard with it. the only reason I took 1 star off is because it does a very poor job at actually doing any combing of beard hair. I know this isn't a huge issue, but if you'er spending money on something and it doesn't do what its supposedly intended for whatsoever, then it's not a perfect product, but it's still cool just to have
You get a bit more than you pay for.

Having previously held a switchblade I can say for sure that this looks flawlessly like the real thing from a distance. Closer examination shows that this product probably isn't worth more than 5 dollars. Good thing it isn't. Its not the best of combs but considering how little you pay and the novelty of such a ridiculous but at the same quite brilliant item, its really not a bad buy. Not at all. Durability seems to be the main issue. The metal parts are digging into sections of the plastic comb causing minor depressions which isn't a problem since it has a metal backing. One of the metal parts of the locking mechanism also has dug a trench into its counterpart which may cause it to stop working in the long run and never lock in place but I can't be sure without letting it open and close a few hundred more times. Its so cheap though I don't see much of a problem.
After a few weeks, I was correct in assuming that the metal locking mechanism would cause itself to stop working. It has done so.
Good for a laugh and it is useable.

When my brother was about eight years old he bought our dad a switch blade for his birthday. Sixty years ago they weren't noted as a weapon and my dad only had one hand, so it made perfect sense to give an easy to open knife for every day use. I guess they are now outlawed. I gave this comb for my brother's birthday to remind ourselves of days gone by and how funny it was.

I purchased this comb before ever knowing about the comments and what people could say. SO I had no idea how good this would be but I wanted it. So it arrived at my house quick and on time. It worked for the first three times I used it to flip open then after that it stopped. After a few minutes of tinkering with it I discovered the button you push down to release the blade (comb) wasn't pulling the metal tab that held it in place all the way back. I quickly learned if you pressed the button all the way in and pushed the blade down it would pop open like it should. So I quickly developed the skill to press it down with my finger and press the button to allow it to open. No one who sees it notices I do it till they ask to use it.
Over all I love it and people all ways think it is real. It is made out of cheep plastic and metal so i'm not sure how long it will last but it is a great comb and very cool toy to show people.

I've always wanted one of these when I was a kid but my folks didn't get me one. That's when I had hair. Now that I have children of my own (and I'm bald) I had to get a few of these for conversation pieces for my boys. They're safe and easy to use. Makes a kid feel like a bad-ass. - - This particular brand is surprisingly durable. Solid structure. The comb is tough, although fine toothed. My boys are 10 & 8 with thick hair and this comb works great. Personally, I think it's under priced. The quality is well worth $20... Since it's only $3 I bought 4.
Fun only.

The price pretty much tells you "this is a toy." I'm not saying that this is a terrible product, but I didn't get a very good one, if anything. The lock/switch began to malfunction after just a few presses. Now it doesn't even open properly. You have to give it the ol' flip out, but it's so light that even that doesn't feel like it works.
Anyhow, it was fun for two/three bucks. Could make slight improvements and sell it for a slightly higher price. Would be worth it in the end. For its current form? I wouldn't recommend it.
Great Nostalgiac Comb...

I'm trying to grow my hair out a bit. Going for a "Mad Men" type of do.
For that, I needed a comb...but no plastic comb would do.
I remembered seeing these when I was in grade school 25 years ago, and was happy to see they were still available today.
It's a good product, and works well as a comb. Like other folks, I've had hit and miss results with the sliding lock, but it's not too big of a deal.
I enjoy the comb, and it starts conversations with anyone that sees it.
The "blade action" was good which added to the realistic effect on stage

Exactly what I expected. I purchased with the intention of turning it into a stage prop switchblade. The "blade action" was good which added to the realistic effect on stage. However after a few shows, the action stopped working, but I go my money's worth. Next time I'll buy more so
I can make extra props just in case.
Never. Again. I've bought a couple of these ...

Never. Again. I've bought a couple of these, they're always either lost, broken, or stolen after a few days. No joke. This one arrived broken. The product is a 1, but at least returning it is free.
Cheap but fun

My two small sons were dying to have a 'switchblade' comb and now thanks to the power of the internet, they each have one. Although these are currently NOT being used to comb hair but have instead earned a place in their never ending weapons arsenal of Bruce Lee foam padded nunchucks and countless Nerf and 'pop' guns, oh let's not forget the swords. Yes, my sons wage tiny wars on each other daily (in fun) and these switchblade combs have been a great addition for them.
