Works just fine
by Tally O'Keefe (5 out of 5 stars)

I have a back injury and cannot reach. I need help. I tried several portable bidet bottles. They didn't work. This works. The stream is strong enough. Most times I do it twice.

Other people's complaints: It leaks when it is standing...well, there is a tiny hole in the base that lets air into the bottle when you are squeezing it, that is why it has a stronger stream than the others. There is a tiny metal ball that is supposed to fall into the tiny hole and stop it from leaking when the bottle is upright...so if yours is leaking...shake it, tap it so the metal ball gets loose. When in use you are supposed to put your index finger over the air hole until it is in position. Also some people complained that the stream wasn't strong...well, get a fire hose I guess, because this little bidet has a strong stream.

Some complained that if you need to use to twice, that is impossible when using a stall in a public bathroom. That is true, and filling it up once at the public sinks can be embarrassing. But that is true for all bidet bottles so I don't know what to say. And someone said that you can't fill it up with water and carry it around. You can't carry ANY filled portable bottle bidet around...they are not sealed...they all have a spout.

This used to be the ONE!, Price has gone up. One star taken off

I've owned and used various bidet devices over the years. I had a couple of the built-ins so I'm familiar with them. Sure the advantage is you don't have to fill in the water but there are also many disadvantages. For the built-in, the water only squirts in one direction and you have to wiggle or you could miss a spot. And the pressure is not easy to control. You could also leave a souvenir on the nozzle itself which means extra work to clean it up. In addition, the built-in makes your toilet unsightly and more difficult to clean up. There is also a handheld nozzle spray (similar to the kitchen sink nozzle spray) that you connect to the water line. The problem with that one is the press valve is close to the nozzle head, then your hand gets wet and you know what I mean.

With this model, there is some space between the nozzle and your hand and you have absolute control on the pressure and the angle of attack. For complaints about the bottle not big enough, please get two. You should get two anyway because you want to shoot from different angle because of the hair. If you're hairless then one bottle should do. Sure, the Chinese will get even richer if they sell double the amount, but still the payback is one year or less from saving of toilet papers. After one year, the devices are free from the cost standpoint. Talk about saving, this is exactly the same item as the Washmate which is selling for $2.50 more than this item. So, you're already saving $2.50 compared to the Washmate brand. Last but not least, guys should use cold water. It's good for the prostate. Don't listen to the complaints about warm water issue. The women can fuzz about that. We don't want it.

And remember, Happiness is seeing two Blue Bidets waiting for you in the bathroom.

Update: If you find your unit leaking, it's because the tiny metal ball that acts as a shutoff is stuck in the open position (up). Use a paperclip to gently nudge it loose so it will drop down by gravity. Then it will close the opening. This can happen if you fill the container to the absolute top. As you screw in the top, the water has no place to go but force the metal ball to float up causing water to leak through the opening. Leave a little room when you fill in the water so when you screw in the top, there won't be pressure to force the metal ball to float up and get stuck in the open position. Hope this helps.

Update May 22, 2013, this used to be $2.50 cheaper than the Washmate brand. Now the price is about the same. You can buy this brand or Washmate, thus, now just above average rating. Buy whatever is cheaper between the two brands.

The best portable travel bidet on the market
by Emmett Lynch (5 out of 5 stars)
September 3, 2018

Despite being one of the smaller travel size bidets on the market, it is extremely well made and convenient to pack when traveling. When refilling, the bottle fits conveniently under an airline bathroom faucet. You should be aware that all of the other brands can do that. A user can easily conceal the bidet in one's pocket or purse to avoid any embarrassment when using the bathroom. It does not leak if the user takes the time to screw the sprayer on properly. The spray is strong and effective. I tried other personal bidets and found their sprayers to be weak or breakable. You can easily clean the bidet by running it under hot water and using soap. A quality made product.

The Medline Cleansing Bottle is Superior
by Karen E. (2 out of 5 stars)
March 2, 2014

Had the Blue Bidet been the first portable bidet I had ever bought, I'd probably be giving it 4 stars for the simple reason that there's nothing like rinsing yourself to get rid of that not-so-fresh-feeling. However, I bought the Medline Cleansing bottle first and loved everything about it. My plan was to keep the Medline at home and the Blue Bidet in our RV.

Ways the Medline is superior:
1. Unlike the Blue, the Medline is transparent so you always know how much water you have in it.
2. The Medline spout is NOT angled, so if you're using it in the middle of the night, you don't need to worry about your aim. :)
3. The Medline does not have a weird "breather" hole in the bottom like the Blue, so transportation (even filled) is no problem.
4. The Medline spout closes securely. I'm not sure the Blue closes at all.
5. The Medline seems to have much better pressure, so I use much less water.
6. The Medline bottle is clear plastic and isn't likely to draw attention or curious questions like, "What is that?"

I'm still keeping the Blue Bidet in the RV, but instead of in the bathroom, I'll use it in the shower to save on how much water I use when showering and washing my hair. It's sturdy and will probably last a very long time. And that's one place where the leaking breather hole won't drive me nuts.

Great Behind Cleaner
by Daniel N (5 out of 5 stars)
July 2, 2013

This is perfect for cleaning your behind after making number two's. Paper don't work that great and you need to feel fresh an hour later and not get that wet uncomfortable feeling. Just put very light warm water, I learned this the hard way and almost wound up on the moon.

Returned
by P. Macy (2 out of 5 stars)

I've used a Toto Portable Washlet at home and while traveling/camping for 8+ years, but when it finally needed to be replaced, the new Toto only lasted 15 months due to button issue. (They just don't make them like they used to!) So I searched for a non-battery replacement. Purchased the 22 oz SmarterFresh and, with my years of experience with using and placing a wand, it works great! But I needed a second, smaller one for away from home. I thought this small BlueBidet would work well. Because the "wand" is permanently attached to the lid, I figured it would have less chance of leaking. However, in first experimenting with it at a sink, I was surprised to see water flowing freely around the screw-in lid, even without squeezing the bottle. I unscrewed and re-screwed lid carefully many times with the same disappointing results. So it's being returned.

BB-20; Well thought out design, good materials
by redjacket (4 out of 5 stars)
February 14, 2013

Something that I really need to use from time to time. I didn't want to install a big expensive unit at home, and I needed something portable I can take on the road and have at work. For the most part, it is a good product and works better than any "makeshift" water bottle version I could come up with. Some serious thought went into the design of the nozzle (angle, spout, flow, etc). Also, the material of the blue bottle is pliable and quiet when squeezed. i can see years of use from it. Also, there is a "ball bearing" air valve built into the bottom of the bottle to allow air in, and does not leak when turned right side up. All in all, it cleans up the messiest situation. I would have given a fifth star, but only one little nit... the screw top leaks no matter how tight I screw it down. The washer is definitely in place, and I've tried light, medium and higher torque with no success. It could be the one design flaw or a "one off". Oh well, it isn't that big of a deal and still works great.

Superb!
by David H Williams (5 out of 5 stars)
March 19, 2014

I bought this instead of having a portable bidet installed on my three commodes. I have a lot of bladder infections so I need to be very clean after a B.M. -- in between showers and this does the job very well. I did not buy it to use just for travel. It is noisy, so use in a public place is not recommended by me and also because it would be difficult to fill with water in a public bathroom. Also, the bottle could be just a little bit bigger because I have to fill it twice but I like to be extra clean. I also wipe once after I use it the first time, then fill it and use again and then wipe. It also saves on toilet paper since you do not have to use a lot. Too much wiping with just toilet paper (without using the bidet) irritates my bottom. I have recommended this to my family and my doctor loved the idea to help stave off the bladder infections since they are caused by the E-coli from bowel movements and using this keeps you cleaner. Be sure the little ball in the bottom stays over the hole in the bottom or it will leak. Just shake the bittle a little and the ball will reposition itself in the little hole where it should be. A winner and I am so glad I found it!!

Best postpartum peri bottle
by Momster (5 out of 5 stars)
November 20, 2015

This was one of the best postpartum purchases I have ever made. In Germany they do not hand peri bottles out for recovery and I knew this was a must have. This is one of the few companies that would ship to me. But more important, the curved spout made for really smart use. I could fill the bottle up and turn it upside down and use all the water unlike most peri bottles. I was disappointed it leaked a little bit but if I was careful in how I held it it didn't leak as much. I bought actually a few of these and gave them to my friends who were expecting as well. And I am saving it in case we have any more children in the future. I would buy again though if I needed to. I purchased this item at full price but I am providing a review to aide others in their purchase decision.

fake or quality decline?
by Robin Chen (1 out of 5 stars)
August 4, 2015

I'm not sure if I got a fake or the product quality has gone way down. I've bought this item before and loved it. The reason I bought a second one is because I gave the first one away. First one still looked brand new and nothing leaks after almost 2 years.

Difference with the previous one is, no Blue Bidet label on the white cap. The green spout has glue all around the joint. The blue bottle opening has uneven manufacturing and was shaved down with a knife. The new bidet leaks when held upside down while the previous one did not. New bottle seems to be less flexible, but that may be because it's new. Color of printing on the box is lighter than the previous box. Included bag has white string instead of blue, and it only loops around once rather than double loop, which allows you to close by pulling on both sides.

Item was sold by *SmartShop*LLC. I will be returning due to leak when held upside down.
