Japanese candy - so cool. So this whole line of candy is fun for the kids, and it can inspire concentration; read kids will be busy for a time and peace can fill the house.

Pros:

Kids make, admire then eat (much slower than buying a candy bar)

inspires arts and crafts element in kids and adults

adults can do something with their kids or rest

Cons:

Can be messy, so have a clean and open area

Kids will want to make more (maybe a plus)

Playing with food?! Don't be a scrooge, ever make taffy?!

I bought this product, we had fun with this product, and we recommend this line of products.

I thought this was an overall very nice kit. I am extremely pleased with the excellent customer service, which was very clear and informative on what do about a delivery problem I stumbled on. I was emailed twice, both very detailed and gave me all my answers. As for the kit itself, it is wonderful. My dad didn't really like it, but me and my mom did! We love grape, so this was good for us. The rice was good, tasted like a mix of cotton candy and grape. The fish part was like grape gummy, yum! The fish egg candies tastes like grape, too. The soy sauce was sweet and tasted like grape soda. All flavors combined nicely and had a light, nice mild flavor. I had a blast making this kit and have already ordered the Ramen kit to do next! I love Kracie Popin' Cookin! I would not hesitate at all to say that I definitely recommend this product to anyone! Very cute and tasty candy, and so much fun to make!!

Awesome activity!

It was really cute and fun to do! The only downside was that the directions were not in English, but translated directions were easy to find on my phone. The packets of powder are color-coded, so it wasn't hard to figure out. It makes 3-4 pieces of candy sushi.

Making the faux salmon eggs was really cool, the fluffy rice tasted like cotton candy, and the textured mixing tray left indentations to make the pink and yellow gelatin look like tuna and egg ingredients! The seaweed wrapper was eh, but the soda-tasting soy sauce was a great touch. The process was a little more complex than I expected, but it was fun (like a silly no-pressure science experiment) and resulted in great bonding time with my little sister. The salmon roe was her favorite part: you mix two liquids, then use the dropper to drop orange droplets into the clear liquid to make little fruity spheres that pop in your mouth!

The best part? All it needs is water! No ice water, no heat, just pain old room temp water. 10/10 would buy again ^^

Candy Sushi

This is the first time I have ever tried Popping' Cooking' Happy Sushi House and it was fun to make and it tasted good! It was fruity bubble gum flavored. I felt creative and entertained making them! I even took photos of them and will share them if I can!

You can make four kinds of candy sushi. This would be a fun gift or something for you to enjoy your self!

awesome awesome awesome kids did kit.

I've seen the YouTube videos on the Krace popin kitchen. I anticipated the package to be slightly bigger then my hand which it was. Although some people will have high expectations for this product I advise them to watch the videos, it's still very cool.

Meanwhile this is by far the best bang for the buck. It's a cheap gift that will keep the kids insanely entertained. Every single one of these kits are pretty cool. American products that have more plastic parts and brighter packages cost up to $15 or more, yet they fail to hold the kids attention.

I ordered this on Oct 10, received on November 13th. I'm not thrilled at the shipping time but it's less then $4 total for this awesome candy kit. 100% worth it.

This review is completely accurate and in no way am I being compensated for it.

The salmon roe are JUST as much fun to make as you think they are. Oh, yes.

This was an incredibly fun, silly present to myself.

It doesn't taste particularly good, but I wanted the fun of making it. The instructions were easy enough to follow. My rice came out decent. The black seaweed bits are really tough to work with and I ended up with a bit of a blob. I think it would be fun to include something else instead of the paste, but I suppose they know what they're doing.

As I suspected, making the salmon roe was THE MOST FUN. I just want to make little balls out of everything. They were tasty, too. I wish they sold kits of just salmon roe.

I felt bad that they provided so much "soy sauce" because the candy doesn't absorb it at all and you're left with a lot left over.

The little tools are the best, and the squeezy bottle works really well.

All in all, 4/5 stars, super entertaining. I'd love to have a Popin' Cookin' party some day!

these are fun to play with

these are fun to play with. not great tasting (synthetic) and frankly with all the handling - not sure I would eat them.

the boxes were damaged in the amazon box which wasn't so that seems to imply that the boxes were damaged going in the box...not happy at all with that since these were meant to be given as a gift but now couldn't give them due to the damage so I am stuck with weird candy play doh...would probably not buy again.

Fun Candy that would be even better to make with kids

I really enjoyed this candy kit! The only thing I dinged it on was the flavor- most of the ingredients are just sweet with vaguely fruity flavoring, though the "rice" has a decent bubblegum flavor and the "fish eggs" have a nice hint of honey. I found a tutorial on youtube that was easy to follow although I think you could probably figure out what to do from the pictures on the packaging (nothing is in English). It's essentially just stirring various powders into water and then watching them magically gel and transform. The coolest part is definitely the "fish eggs"; you drip the orange liquid into the blue and it instantly turns spherical and gels. It looks exactly like the picture on the box. I had fun making it and it took less than twenty minutes to have cute and decent tasting "sushi"!

Fun but not worth time and money

I was so excited to try these! I was disappointed to start because the boxes were smashed a bit when they arrived. When unboxing it's they have cute packaging. The instructions were decent to follow. The ingredients are no good I'm afraid. The taste was not as bad as I expected but not something I'd want to eat again. Overall they are fun to try and I'm glad I did but I won't be spending my money on them again.

Fun to make, exotic texture and taste!
by Nina (5 out of 5 stars)

I loved this DIY kit, I didn't make it as nicely as the videos, box, or anything, but it was super fun to make! Should be noted all the candy is in grape flavor in this kit, and I don't like grape flavored candy, but my mom loved to eat my sloppy made DIY kit candy! It's a bit messy but not too bad, i'd still recommend putting paper towels underneath the tray as you're stirring and making your candy! It does have a weird texture when you eat it, but it's also from another country, an exotic twist on grape flavored candy, and it's probably closer to the tastes of japanese candy in general, so don't buy it expecting it to taste how it would if the product originated from your country. The texture will be exotic, and you probably won't be prepared for it. It's a nice little culture ride though, searching for the youtube videos of how to make the candy, excited when you see something fun came in the mail from Japan even! It came in super fast too, wasn't estimated till August 28th - September 17th (or around those dates) and mine came in on August 7th! Jeez that's quick~
