Amazing purchaseby AshleyAJ (5 out of 5 stars)

Great purchase! We always have little animals and critters fall into the pool and it's so difficult to help them (if we see it in time). One of the neighborhood duck's babies kept falling into the pool. By the time we raised the water level of the pool (which goes down every day because of the sun intensity) and used a palm branch, it would take forever to get them out. The mother duck would be stressed out and think we were harming her babies. I bought this the same week the last time this happened and filled the pouch with rocks. So simple. The baby ducks figured it out in less than 2 minutes. The video I took of them looks unreal. Really grateful for this contraption.
Especially since we have outdoor cats. On rare occasions, animals that fall victim to them fall in the pool and almost drown. This would allow them to hold onto something until I'm able to get them out.
Great product.

We have had this in the pool all summer and have had no critters lost. Normally there were 2 or 3 frogs a week, but none this year. It helps all kinds of animals. My wife took this picture of a baby rabbit it saved today. We lifted it out and it hopped away. Great product.

So I really didn't think this thing would work, but I put it in anyway, apparently the frogs think it's a pool party now and have invited all there friends, so I ordered another! There are 7 frogs on it and it's only been in the pool for a couple hours

I don't have a pool, but visit a friend who has one. Each day we scoop the poor frogs from the skimmer. I mean EVERY day. No exceptions. Never a day goes when I am not removing frogs. And even more frogs when it rains. Every day, at least 3-7 little ones in the skimmer. The friend has found all sizes, but mostly small to not too small. It's like frog central. Someone mentioned a "frog ladder" that was supposed to work well. Since I wanted to do something nice, I ordered this FrogLog on a whim, hoping to stop the "frog flipping" which is sad and gross.
The product arrives fast, and we find rocks to weigh the upper part down. We place the FrogLog away from the skimmer.
Next day, NO frogs. The day after that, NO frogs. A third day. NO frogs. OK, I think, well it hasn't rained a lot.
We get a HUGE storm, lots of rain. I go finally expecting frogs to show up in the two skimmers. NONE.
So, I can say this works. I wish I had a "dash cam" for the pool but I don't. But I have a picture of how it looks in the pool.
I am so pleased, I had to write a review. I was a skeptic, but the proof is in the "skimmer!"

Great for Ducklings. They used it within the first hours of being in the pool. I used rocks in the compartment instead of sand since near the pool. Picture a little fuzzy as I took in through a screen.
No more dead chipmunks

Within four days, I found four drowned chipmunks in my pool. It was so sad and I felt so bad that I really didn't find any pleasure in swimming in my pool. I researched a way to prevent this online and found these. I bought 3 of them about a month ago, spaced them out around my pool and no more dead chipmunks! These work great. They also trap leaves and bugs and help keep my pool clean. Such a small amount of money to save little lives! Thanks to Amazon for carrying these and to whoever thought of this wonderful idea. Very humane and very cool. I can now swim guilt free. I just wish I had these sooner.

Great idea, great product. I added an in-ground pool in the summer of 2012, and a recurring problem was fishing out various creatures. We're in a pretty heavily wooded area, and although the surrounding fence keeps out larger animals, I would regularly fish out salamanders, frogs, and mice. The Salamanders were usually alive, the frogs were 50/50 on survival, and the mice were always dead.
A Co-worker recommended this great product though she added a disclaimer that she had never actually SEEN it work. She just no longer had to fish out swimmers. Until this weekend we had the same results, I never SAW anything using the escape route, but I didn't have to rescue anyone either. We even went on a week vacation, and I expected to have to do some heavy cleanup upon return, but nothing.
And then this weekend I saw it in action. A frog (added to pictures above) was on the log and hadn't yet fully left the pool. We happily let that guy go, and it's been over a month since I've had to remove any dead creature. Prior to (the simple) installation, I would take something out every other day at least.

This thing has worked wonderfully for us. We live in the desert and had issues with small ground squirrels falling into the pool while trying to get a drink. We managed to save a couple of them with the handheld skimmer when we found them ~treading water, but far too many were ending up at the bottom of the pool and it was bumming my family out. I have had Not One incident since purchasing this FrogLog last spring. Inflate the pad with 2-3 breaths, put some river rocks/other in the anchor, and it's all set. Seller was great, quick shipping, item exactly as described. I would highly recommend it for anyone dealing with wildlife getting caught in the pool.

I purchased 3 of these frog logs since we are surrounded by woods and wildlife. I cannot say how happy I was the first time I saw a frog sitting on the pad in the morning. There is no price I wouldn't pay to save a life, so they are worth every penny. Throughout the summer, many frogs were saved. I don't know how many critters actually hopped on, then made their escape, but picking frogs off the pad sure beats picking dead ones out of the water. I had 2 pads near the tanning shelf....seems that's where most of the frogs were found, but as a precaution, I had one at the deep end as well. Initially, I didn't get a chance to fill the part that hangs over the deck with sand, so I used a brick temporarily, which is what you may see in the photo. Also, I do not think the pads interfered with the filtering system. Leaves can get caught on them, but it wasn't an issue at all. Most debris went around the pads. Plop them in when you first open the pool, especially when the frogs are most prevalent, and leave them in until you close the pool! Every pool should have at least one or two. I highly recommend Froglogs if you care about wildlife!
