Very heavy construction. Fit perfectly between standard 16-in spaced studs. Looks like a true electrical panel. I have more than one of this type of gun safe in my home and workshop.... Some look like picture frames, etc.

This is a wonderful "hide in plain sight" unit. Looks like any other electrical panel in your more industrial business locations, or just put into a closet at home. Fits nicely between studs on standard 16-inch spacing. I used larger lag bolts and a 1.5-inch flat washers to bolster its attachment to the studs from inside the open safe unit.
Nice safe but company needs some quality control on final inspection.

The safe is built well and installation was easy. I did have trouble setting the 4 digit code because the cylinder that the knob mechanism rotates in was rotated such that I could not get access through the hole in the cylinder to the knob mechanism to reset the code. The paper clip must pass through the hole in the knob and then through the hole in the cylinder to the knob's internal mechanism. I was able to easily remove the knob and mechanism from the cylinder to set the code as I desired and reinstall. I did not have a large enough socket to loosen the cylinder from the lid and rotate the hole in the cylinder to the correct position (180 degrees). In other words, I will have to take the knob and mechanism off again to change the code or get a socket big enough to rotate the cylinder. Spending about an hour trying to push and reset the code was frustrating until I became desperate enough to disassemble and figure out what was wrong. You lose a star for frustrating me.

First, installation: It fit perfectly between my 16" centered studs...lesson learned: Both of my stud finders showed the space between the studs as not even 14.25" (which wouldn't have fit) but ultimately I found they both were wrong by 1/8". Total install was perhaps 20 minutes.
The safe is well made. One might suspect it is a safe, but it isn't obvious. Secondary lock is a bit too obvious as a clue. And the phone number on the front leads directly to the Console Vault main number...which is a complete giveaway!!!! (that's why only 4 stars).
