I got this as a gift for my Dad and he loved it. Its very different at the first look when you expect to see hands on a clock. It takes a few seconds to get used to looking at the time and even then it does not give you the exact time but a very close approximate. This is a great item for people who like out of the box gifts.

This is a good addition to the contemporary set up i have in my living room. However, the kids cannot read the time well - and most of the time - we ended up using other ways to tell time. It's not big - and thus, difficult to tell the exact time since the clock is hung up quite high. I would say that this is more a decorative item than a functional item. It is definitely not for regular time telling - given it's level of difficulty, and the small size, plus the fact that - the clock has to be hung (note - cannot be place on counter or console table as there's no stand for it).
Just stops working.

Have to agree with some of the other reviews here. This clock was meant to be the centerpiece in a "clock wall" in the dining room. Within 4 months the timing mechanism just slowed down. Now it's just a thing on the wall. We replaced the batteries a couple of times. No change.
Very disappointing.
For the approximate time

This should be fairly obvious by just looking at a picture of the clock - if you want precision, look elsewhere. (There is only one ball that marks the hour.) If you can put up with knowing the time with a tolerance of plus or minus 10 minutes or so, this should work for you. The "cool" factor makes up for the lack or precision, I guess.
The clock works as advertised and does get noticed. But you probably don't want this clock to be the only timepiece in your home.
What a conversation piece!

What a conversation piece! I enjoy it every time I look at it and so do guest that come into my home. Amazing how the little red ball moves around the face of the clock to keep perfect time. I've placed my clock on a black easle stand, looks great!
Broke after 1 year

UPDATE: MoMA's customer support contacted me and said they were aware of the problem, and that the new shipment of clocks is better. Unfortunately I had already tossed mine, so they reimbursed me for the defective one.

Looks great, worked fine for a year, then the mechanism slowed down and won't keep time anymore. Tried replacing the battery twice, no good. Apparently I'm not the only one who's had this problem.
