Cool item! Just know that It will probably fail (but it's an easy fix)

Read other peoples reviews so I was prepared for the light to both stop working and for the knob/knobs to fall off. So far (it has been 3 or 4 months) the lights are both still working on each knob. If the lights burn out it is a really easy fix as it simply requires a change in batteries. It takes the small button type of battery. (It should be known that the door knob is cool without the light effect)

I had been waiting to post a review until one of the knobs fell off. Well I had a party over the weekend and one of the knobs fell off. All that hold it on is glue. I bought some two ton epoxy, (the kind that you mix part A and B together. I think that just super/krazy glue would not be strong enough) glued it back together and let it sit over night. The good glue takes longer to cure. It is now fixed and I think that the bond is stronger than ever. (It doesn't look like they used enough glue to begin with)

In regards to installation, I had to do a bit to my door to get it to fit. I already owned a jig for changing door locks/knobs. I had to do some drilling/modifications. It would probably fit a newer standard door but my house was built in 1950. If you are not handy this might be a pain for you.

So all said and done I'm torn on how many stars to give this review. I paid $107 for mine and they are now selling for $150 or more. For that price you would hope that a product wouldn't fail! It is a very unique item that will add character to your house so that is worth something. At the end of the day I would recommend this item as it is very cool! You just need to be prepared to fix it when it fails.

After 1.5months of use the cristal doorknow came out of its base. I literally opened the door and the cristal head unglued itself from the metalic mechanism...

I wonder how do I get reimbursed or how can I get a replacement... It was rather expensive for such a low quality glue.

I am very upset.

These are awesome! I prefer them without the multicolored lights inside (it seems to give it a cheap/childlike look) but otherwise they are sturdy and beautiful. Easy to install.

Very nice looking, I read the reviews of other people that had said the knobs fell off. This also happened to me but with a little crazy glue they have been fine since. The light up feature was nice for a little while but the battery died after a couple of months. I can't be bothered to change it. Other than those two issues, the doorknob works well and looks great! I am satisfied with my purchase.

I really love the conversation-starting addition to my home! There are a few minor production marks (tiny black spots...??) on the crystals themselves but only visible to the truly discerning eye.

I how are you... i realy like the Skull Doorknob... but i have a problem with the "Backlight"... it stay's "on" and the batteries are getting low.... can you juste send me another light and i will send back the old one...???
