Does not cut fabric well

I really like the idea of these scissors, but they do not do what I expected. The blades do not work well on all or most fabrics. There are big and unwieldy, but I hoped the laser light would make up for that. But when I was trying to cut some fabric they just didn't work well at all.

The quality of the construction could be better. The plastic on the hangles is rough and the laser. The scissors do what they claim, but it might be hard to use them for a long time. The instructions also tell you to draw a line on the back of the item to be cut and line up the laser with that line as you are cutting. It claims that you can use it for fabric or paper. They aren't very good on fabric, but my new pair does cut it. I would choose one, or buy 2 pairs - one for paper and one for fabric so you do not dull the blades for fabric. Definitely worth $8.50.

They seem to cut paper just fine.

The laser is mostly a gimmick. Geeky fun. It's a pain to get it to actually line up with the cutting line of the scissors.

I do agree that they have a lot of excess extrusion in the plastic handles, which is uncomfortable. But, that's easy to grind down. A few seconds with some sort of file, and finish smoothing with sandpaper or emery paper.

I don't cut cloth, so I have no opinion on that.

Movement of your hand causes beam to shift

does what it says it will do (Shines the beam in a straight line), however it is hard to keep the scissors from shifting with the movement of your hand making the laser point in a different direction.

The scissors cut paper just fine and the laser light shows up real well to cut paper straight. But, they were advertised as ones that would cut fabric and they don't.

Saw something like this on ThinkGeek and got it here for tons cheaper! Love these things, this has helped my sewing and crafts so much along with a cardboard pattern cutting board (aligning the laser with a line on the board for straight cuts).

The battery cover comes off very easily and it is a pain to put back together. Scissors are sharp and the laser works good.
