I bought this as a fun tool for making my kids school lunches

I bought this as a fun tool for making my kids school lunches. It is not that great though I found. I make the regular PB&J, and when trying to cut the sandwiches with this I find that it doesn't do that good of a job. I starts off fine, but then begins to squeeze the bread in funny. The top piece is cut okay and then the stuff inside starts to ooze out, and it doesn't cut the bottom piece as well. I have tried pushing fast and slow, using even pressure and rocking it back and forth. I haven't tried it on any meat type sandwiches, so it might just be something that happens with soft ingredients. It sounded like a fun idea but it may have been a little too expensive for the results I get. I would say its good for making sandwiches at home, or if you have a sandwich container for a lunch box, but it could get a little messy if you are putting it in a lunch bag because of the way it pushes a bit of PB&J out.

It's ok if you don't expect a lot

I suspect this will work better for cookie dough than anything else. As far as comic nostalgia, it is great. It doesn't really go through sandwiches particuarly well, although the crusts were trimmed off well enough for my picky kid. We tried it on peanut butter and jelly made on some pretty soft and flimsy bread. It went through the top slice ok, but the bottom took some finagling.

Great for less waste!

We had a mustache themed baby shower and we had brownies shaped as mustaches and this cookie cutter was awesome. There was much less waste than if we used a regular cookie cutter and it cut out great little shapes. I gave it 4 stars because on the swirly mustache, we couldn't get any of the curls to come out, but they still looked super cute.

Lunch Time Fun!

I was way more excited about this product than my kids (who I actually bought it for)! :) The kids at school have this big thing about mustaches. (I don't quite get it, but...) I've cut their sandwiches into many shapes for the last several years. So when I saw this, I KNEW I had to get it. And it was well worth it! Both kids (a girl and a boy) love it. Their friends love it. (My son said he was Mario the other day, using one of the mustaches. lol) It is plastic, so it doesn't cut the sandwich/bread clean. But with enough pressure, I have no issues getting the shapes to work. (Note: The kids only take PB&J or Honey. Not sure how well this would work with meat, cheese, lettuce, etc.)

All in all, we LOVE this shape! Who says you shouldn't play with your food? Makes lunch time much more fun.

So Cute!

Took some practice to get these just right. Made my husband do it since he's taller and could use more "force". Made peanut butter and jelly sandwich's and let them chill for a few hours in the fridge, then used a cutting board and they all came out perfect. This was a perfect touch for our "little man" birthday party and everyone loved them.

How FUN!

I bought this to use for a mustache baby shower I'm throwing and its so FUN! The edges arnt sharp so it's not the best with wet snadwhiches like PB&J but for small finger sandwhiches its great. I'm sure I'll enjoy this for years to come. It arrived in less then a week, no damage, exactly as described. The only thing I would like to change is, I wish it wasnt all a solid piece. You have to use all 3 cut-out together, they are not separate pieces.

If you are cutting single slices, it should be fine. Not so much for sandwiches.

Makes lunchtime fun

I use this for my daughters lunches and it makes lunchtime super fun. I like that it doesn't waste a lot of the sandwich since it has three mustaches rather than one large one. We have had a lot of fun with this one and I like to pair it with a sandwich bag that I have written funny jokes or quotes on.

Works for more than sandwiches

I use this sandwich cutter for making sandwiches, but have also used it for jello gigglers for my son's Mario birthday party. I don't use store bought bread with it, I make my own wheat bread, but i would imagine it would work similarly. It does smash the bread down when cutting a sandwich, but i have found that it helps to have the bread refrigerated first before cutting, or better yet make the sandwich ahead of time and then cut it. I dont usually have time for this, I want it to be ready to go when I get the sandwich made. My son does not seem to mind that it is smashed. In fact it makes it a bit easier for little mouths to eat their sandwiches. Thi would also work for cut out sugar cookies.
