Product Description
This award-winning “teetering, wobbling, shifting, tipping, unbalanced, balance game” is a must-have for family game night! Take turns hanging the notched, rubber-tipped wire pieces from the tabletop stand. With each added piece, the balance shifts and the sculpture transforms. But watch out! One wrong move could send it all crashing down! Suited for 1-4 players, this game is guaranteed to appeal to kids and grownups alike! Besides being an exciting game to play, Suspend helps promote important developmental skills. Retrieving and placing the wire pieces helps refine fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, while the strategic thinking and logic involved in deciding where to place a piece helps brush up those problem-solving skills. Playing games also helps children make social-emotional connections and learn important concepts like taking turns, playing fair, and winning and losing gracefully. Our activity game for families is easy to set up and play. This hand-eye coordination game includes 24 game rods, wooden base, 4 frame rods, colored die, and wooden connector. Fun game, but so is the kids version!by Lo Frenzel (4 out of 5 stars)

We are a family that loves board games. We were given the kids' version of Suspend earlier this year as a birthday present for our 6 year old. We loved it. As a birthday present for our 8 year old, we purchased this version. Our sons, my husband and I, and three 7 year old friends all played this version this evening. The game as just as exciting to them; however, I think the "kids" version is just a tad more fun due to the "add 2" and "take 1 away" aspects to the game that the spinner adds. This version comes with a dice instead and seems simpler to play since you always always add a piece or possibly pass your turn. We didn't find this version with the metal pieces any more difficult than the kids version. They're both great, but if I was deciding between the two, I'd choose to purchase the kids version whether for a child or a group of adults.
Fun for everyone

I bought this for a Christmas present for one of my grandchildren, and I learned long ago to open all boxes and inspect all games before Christmas so there is no disappointed little ones.
I opened this up and pulled out the pieces..then sorted them according to size and color...everything was intact..so i set the game up and gave it a whirl, the basic object of the game is to try to continue balancing and hanging metal hangers onto the pole without everything dropping back off...you could play this game with multiple people or just by yourself or your own entertainment.
First thing, right off the bat that I noticed was that you have to 'think' and logic out your moves, and calculate out what will balance and what won't.... its harder than it sounds.. but yet easy as long as you think about each piece you hang and visualize what is going to happen as you add it onto the growing structure.
I found the game overall to be good quality, challenging, educational, frustrating and fun. But I think they could have made a better base for the set up, the little piece of lightweight wood with three holes drilled into where the supports go.. seems a bit chintzy for the overall quality of the game.
Its a good game.. that will entertain a child or an adult, or both at the same time. I have no complaints other than I thought the structures base was not made as well as it could have been.
I hope you found this review to be informative to you.. I did include some photos of the parts and pieces...
Family fun

This is a fun, though frustrating, game for the entire family. The equipment itself is heavy gage wire with covered tips so there's no danger of pokes or scratches to the younger ones. It's well designed that way. I think that kids should have sufficient hand/eye coordination in order to play - otherwise it will be overly stressing to them. And adults? Well, they should be sober. This game is lots of fun.

I played this with my 7 year old daughter. It was pretty easy to use up all the pieces without anything falling over. Basically whoever started first was the winner. We didn't really enjoy the game after playing it a few times.
For more fun - buy two sets!

I bought this game for my 9-year-old son. While it was fun to play, we seemed to be able to hang all the pieces. One day I happened to be at a thrift store and there was a set for sale - so I bought it. I am so glad I did - this game is way more fun with more pieces. While we did discover that you could make the base twice as high with the second set - the weight caused it to topple over. So if you do buy two sets, just use the regular sized base and all of the squiggly pieces. My 5-year old likes playing it by himself and getting all the pieces to balance symmetrically (I should have taken a picture, as it was pretty cool).
Fun game and EXCELLENT customer service!

This is my first Melissa & Doug game and won't be my last! I purchase new games and or puzzles for the Holidays when the family all home. Saw this and it sounded fun. Package arrived timely and undamaged. When we opened there was one of the sticks that was bent and had a metal rough part. I emailed them on Saturday December 30th and got a nice auto response which I expected as it was on the weekend and not during business hours. To my surprise they sent an email on December 31st that was personal to me about my problem. Very shocked as it was not only a Sunday but New Years Eve! They asked that I call on Tuesday and would fix the problem. Called Tuesday and they are sending new piece. I would buy this game again as it is fun for all of us and I would especially buy again from Melissa & Doug as they have outstanding customer service and stand behind their products.
Not great but a good game

I have had a lot of people recommend this game to me so I was excited for this purchase. It is a great concept and I LOVE all things Melissa & Doug so I had high expectations. We have only played this game a couple times but we all ended up more frustrated than having fun. It was more difficult than I thought it would be and took a while to play. There seems to be a need of different shapes. Some of them are very difficult to use. I think after more play and getting comfortable with the design of each piece, the game will be more fun however if we are looking for just a fun, quick, stress-free game, we will probably choose something else.
A really fun game, although for only 1-4 players

This game is a simple concept, and yet I really enjoy playing it. It takes a combination of strategy, dexterity, and balancing in order to be good at the game. And the whole tide can change with just one turn, which definitely adds to the fun in my opinion.
It also seems to be something that both the adults and the nieces/nephews on my family can all enjoy playing, so I wish that there were some sort of expansion set that would allow more than just 4 people to play.
Aside from that, I couldn't ask anything more, and I really wish I could give this 4.5 stars.
So if you don't mind playing with 4 players or less (or perhaps you might want to experiment with combining two sets), I say go for it!
SO FUN! This is not just for kids-- I am ...

Wow, SO FUN! This is not just for kids-- I am 23 and my friends and I enjoy playing this routinely. It can be as easy/hard as you want (you can play it safe or try to make the next person fail by stacking your precariously), and every round is unique.
One star deducted because my set was warped in several ways. The die came rounded oddly (clearly just a manufacturing error) and the set doesn't lean exactly as it should, sometimes the back lifts off the surface a bit (I think this could be due to a hole that's been drilled slightly crooked). These don't severely impact play but I know it could've been better. My friend had a set of the same game without these problems.
