Great except for the BSOD's.by ConnecTech I.T., LLC (1 out of 5 stars)

This product is causing a BSOD on our windows 7 machine, see screenshot. It's also causing the USB "connect and disconnect" sounds to play out of our speakers constantly. We didn't notice at first because we keep the speakers on mute most of the time, found this out by chance.
Having said that, assuming you don't have these issues, it's a great product. We love that you can turn individual ports on and off, they light up so it's clear if it's on, and it has magnets on the bottom. The place we put it happens to be metal, so it sticks right in place and doesn't move a bit! The magnetic feet were really a bonus because we didn't read that when we bought it. 28 ports is crazy, we have about 17 ports used with room for 11 more! we can charge more things and there's a whole row of ports in the front for easy access when we need to plug in a USB stick or something.
Unfortunately, it's too good to be true and we're going back to our 14 port and 10 port USB hubs.

Not for Windows 10 Storage Spaces
by gtaus (1 out of 5 stars)

Not for Windows 10 Storage Spaces USB HDDs. Unfortunately, only the HDDs connected to the 4 USB 3.0 ports on this hub were recognized by Windows 10. I had to go back and use my old 7 port powered USB 3.0 hubs to get all my 17 USB HDDs back online. Don't know if that is because there was a mix of both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports in use when trying to use this Mondohub, or if there is something in Storage Spaces that requires the faster USB 3.0 protocol. Either way, I could not get my drives to work until I put everything back on my old powered 7 port USB 3.0 hubs.
UPDATE 12/22/2015: I contacted Manhattan about my experience with the MondoHub and they did respond. Basically, they stated that the MondoHub was not designed to provide enough power to all their ports if used at the same time with HDD's - like I was attempting to do with 17 HDDs. Unfortunately, they did not state how many HDDs the MondoHub would support at the same time. However, they suggested I use smaller powered hubs for my setup. OK, wish I had known that before I made this purchase. When this unit failed, I only had 2 HDDs on the USB 3.0 ports 15 and 16, and the other 2 USB 3.0 ports 1 and 2 were going out to my smaller 7 port powered hubs. Don't really understand the benefit of having 28 ports if you can only really use 4 at a time, or less? BTW, all 17 drives appeared to be OK in Storage Spaces until I actually started transferring about 500GB of files to the drives. Then everything started to shut down on me. Will have to find another use for this hub, but don't know where. Waste of money to be sitting on the shelf back in its box. Hope this review helps someone else from making the same mistake I did.
Save your money and buy two 10 or 13-port USB 3.0 hubs

I made the mistake of buying one of these things in the past. A 28-port USB hub is more proof-of-concept than anything. The power adapter that comes with this thing (5 Volts at 4 Amps) is nowhere near adequate to power 28 bus-powered USB devices!
A bus-powered USB 2.0 device is 5 Volts at 500 Milliamps (0.5 Amps). USB 3.0 is 5V, 900mA.
With 24 USB 2.0 devices (assuming they're bus powered--they don't have their own AC adapters), they'll need 12 Amps! The four USB 3.0 devices need 3.6 Amps. That's 15.6 Amps!
Shoot 15.6 Amps through that hub and stuff will fry!
There's a reason why the good USB 3.0 hubs with 10 ports have power bricks larger than they are: the devices need all that power! The reason the current (Amps) don't end up frying those hubs is because the power bricks are actually 12 Volts instead of 5 Volts, and the power brick "undervolts" to allow more devices.
In other words, Volts * Amps = Watts. A hub with a 12V, 5A charger = 60W. USB 3.0 devices at 5V, 900mA (0.9A) = 4.5W. Ten of them would be 45W.
So given 24 USB 2.0 devices and 4 USB 3.0 devices need 15.6A at 5V, that's 78W! So a 12V charger would have to be 6.5A to properly support this thing...
...but kids, don't try that at home! This piece of crap would probably get fried anyway at 6.5A!!!

It's pretty good, i don't ever notice any lack of power like the other reviews are saying. I've never had any problems with it, and it works just fine after 3 years in service. The downside is that it only has 4 usb 3.0 ports, and the rest are 2.0. more usb 3.0's would be better.

The 3.0 ports never worked from day one. All of the 2.0 ports seemed to work and provide enough power to run several external WD 2 tb hard drives. I doubt that the power rating on this thing would come near to operating more than 3 or 4 devices at a time. All in all I would save money and just buy a 10 port hub hat has actual real power expectations and better quality construction. Each of the switches is supposed to light up when turned on. 5 of mine didn't turn on the lights but still seemed to work. As soon as I find a suitable replacement I will get rid of this unit in a yard sale.
