Product Description
Do you ever want just one glass of wine, but worry that the rest will be wasted unless you finish the entire bottle? Rest easy; Air Cork protects your wine from oxidation while allowing you to enjoy your wine tonight and tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Air Cork is intuitive, simple and easy to use. It provides an airtight seal no matter how much wine is left in the bottle. To use, lower the balloon end into the bottle until it reaches the top surface of the wine. As you pump, the balloon floats and seals itself to the side of the bottle to provide an air tight seal from the inside of the bottle. When you're ready to enjoy another glass, simply squeeze the valve until the balloon completely deflates. Lift it out of the bottle, blot it dry or rinse it off. Inflating the balloon until 1-1/2 Inch is showing as pressed to the bottle side should inhibit oxidation and keep your wine at its peak for about 3 days. The Air Cork allows you to avoid losing the beautiful aromatics of your wine or pouring into smaller bottles to eliminate excess air when storing your wine, all while seeing that it's working from outside of the bottle. The balloon is manufactured in the USA and is constructed of natural rubber latex, a bio based elastomer material. All ingredients in the balloon meet US FDA standards for food contact. In no way will it affect or alter the taste of your wine. The Air Cork is designed for standard wine bottles only; 750-ml bottles or smaller. Enjoying your wine within 3 days of opening is recommended. Rinse with water, blot dry and store your air cork in its convenient pouch.Features
- Air Cork wine preserver; includes Air Cork device, storage pouch and instructions
- To use, lower balloon into bottle, pump and watch the balloon create an air tight seal from inside the bottle

Works great!by LovetoCook,Top Contributor: Cooking (5 out of 5 stars)

It works!!! I really like that there's no need to search for a pump in the drawer every time you need to seal up the bottle again, too. The balloon part can get a little over-inflated and require you to pinch it a bit to get it to go down (to get back into the bottle) once it is wet, but it's not that big of a deal. I've been using the VacuVin for a while, and it's great, but I find myself wanting to use this one for the convenience. It also seems to be working really well at preserving wine, but I'm still kind of a wine newbie so take that with a grain of salt.
However, the experts at Cook's Illustrated definitely know wine, and this was their top-rated wine preserver! They said: "Once you get the hang of lowering the food-safe latex balloon into the bottle and inflating it just above the leftover wine's surface, this budget-friendly device effectively seals off air, preserving wine's drinkability for at least one month (we are continuing to test). A downside: You can seal only one bottle at a time. Balloons are guaranteed for 80 uses; replacement balloons cost about $4"
And if you're curious, this is what they said about the VacuVin: "After discovering new, more effective products that raised the bar for wine preservation, we developed some reservations about recommending our former favorite tool. We still value it for its compact design, ease of use, and budget-friendly price, but since it keeps wine drinkable for only about a week, we'll use it just for short-term storage."
I'm sure that it comes down to personal taste and what feels most comfortable or convenient to you, but this is my personal favorite between the two!
Great concept, excellent customer service

I saw this on Americas Test Kitchen and wanted to give it a try. Like many others, I experienced a fail on my first try. But the owner reached out and provided another one. My second works like a charm: holds its air while in the bottle completely blocking off air to the wine. I'm solo so opening a great bottle of wine was usually something I did only when company was coming. Now I can open a bottle and not worry about having to drink it up immediately. Very cool.
Very good idea. Doesn't last.

Very good idea. The only issue that you really have to check it everyday if your storing for an extended period. Sometimes the balloon deflates a little and you need to pump it up again. Not always, but I check it every day to be sure. If the balloon hasn't deflated, you can keep wine for quite a few days (at least a week). I live alone, so I can't finish a bottle of wine in one day. I have a different apparatus that vacuums the air out. But the air seeps back in with that one too. I had to put the stopper in, vacuum the air out, put a double thickness of saran wrap around the stopper secured with a tight rubber band, then wrap that with a double thickness of aluminum foil secure with a tight rubber band. This is simpler.
8/13/2014 - I have to update this review. I just threw out both of these wine stoppers. I had 2 of them. They both began deflating sooner over time. Over the past few days, they wouldn't stay inflated for more than an hour or two. I don't know if it's the balloons or the seals where they attached to the tubing. But, they're both in the trash now. I'd never buy one of these again.
This is great, however the balloon got a hole in it ...

This is great, however the balloon got a hole in it after 5 months - quite expensive to replace. BUT it works great when used. The balloon is expensive on Amazon ($20) but you get two for $8 on the AriCork Site. So I am giving it 5 stars - It is a great product and I love it
That's four days better than the vacuum pump system

Kept wine drinkable for one pour each day of five days. That's four days better than the vacuum pump system, using the fridge, or both.
Worked great.........one time

Well, the idea seemed really good, but oft times good ideas do not translate into good products. The idea of creating an air tight seal is well conceived with an inflatable balloon to be inserted in the partially full wine bottle, the balloon then inflated to give said seal between atmosphere and wine.....excellent concept......but....
the instruction pamphlet enclosed was very clear. Twice I was warned not to over-inflate the balloon. I was also told that it would take between 18-21 full squeezes on the pump to achieve the desired "sealing of the bottle". Well, 10 squeezes and the balloon popped. Poof. End of unit, end of $24.95.
"Balloons are easily replaceable". Yup, for an additional $5.00. So, in for a dime, in for a dollar, I'll probably invest another $5.00 to get another inferior balloon, and then throw the whole thing out.
Works as advertised.

This is a useless product. The "balloons" that came with this lasted for only two uses. I will never buy this product again and I would not recommend it to anyone.
So far so good

Based on other reviews, I was very afraid of popping the balloon, but so far I have been careful. I was worried I would not see the balloon in the darker red wine bottles, or know when to stop pumping, but that has not been an issue at all. To make sure I have a seal without overinflating, I turn the bottle upside down over the sink to check for leaks and adjust if necessary.

This is a case of NOT reading the instructions. I saw it on Shark tank, right??? One picture is supposed to be worth a thousand words, but..... Read the instructions and do NOT over-inflate. This product does everything it is supposed to do and I highly recommend it.
