This stuff is cool

You can barely even feel it in your hand. It has a slight bluish tint, but is almost entirely transparent. If you break it, don't touch the edge, it'll cut you...

I had no idea what this material would be like. It is actually a solid and makes a very strange sound when handled. I have no use for it but to keep it as a really neat object d'art.

Pretty cool stuff.

Kind of useless unless perhaps you need it for an experiment of some sort. It's more of a novelty item sitting on my desk that I show to friends. It's very light and see-through, and at first I couldn't even see it in the little plastic box it came in.

It arrived quickly and was exactly what I expected. All was well till my girlfriend squeezed it and it fractured. She is no longer allowed near the aerogel.

arrived broken
by greg (2 out of 5 stars)

I opened the box, broke the seal on the case and there it was, in pieces. Some gentle handling of the larger pieces then continued to break into smaller pieces. I don't know if the one I got was defective, but it was definitely disappointing.
