Product Description
Sky Bed is an innovative, fully patented asymmetrically designed hammock that offers an amazingly flat and comfortable relaxation space. Using an inflatable pad in a hammock has always been a problem as the pad slides around and refuses to stay in one place. Sky Bed solves that problem by making a dedicated sleeve for your inflatable pad. The sleeve is integrated into the hammock itself and will accommodate most any 20" wide standard size inflatable pad on the market. With your inflatable pad in the dedicated sleeve, Sky Bed provides built in thermal protection which never moves. The rigidity of the inflatable pad creates the stunningly flat, insulated and cozy sleeping surface. It is a much easier solution for hammock insulation than buying an expensive and bulky under quilt. If you have always wanted a flatter laying hammock or a hammock that keeps you warmer at night then Sky Bed is the answer. Sky Bed is made from super strong rip stop nylon, which is reinforced with webbing at all of the seams. Weighing in a only 23 oz and complete with 100 inches of climbing rope suspension on each end, Sky Bed is arguably the most satisfying portable camping hammock on earth. Note: Inflatable Pad Is Not Included With The Sky Bed.Features

Flat enough I can lay on my side!by Greg Morphis (4 out of 5 stars)

So after using the hammock a few times I hate the rope "suspension". I dislike it so much, I'm taking a star off because I'd almost consider it a design flaw. Here's my reasoning and it's simple.. It's not easily adjustable. I prefer my hammock to have a short loop at the ends of the hammock, maybe 6-8". Tree straps attach the hammock to the tree and adjusting those are easy. Unless you're tying a bunch of knots into the rope, it's not easily adjustable. But then you have a knotted up rope on both ends. However, tree straps are easily adjustable (as are whoopie slings). You just tighten or loosen them and that's all. The ropes almost makes the hammock seem 8-9 feet longer (~4 worth of rope per side). They are useless to me. I'll cut them off, add some amsteel loops and use my tree straps or huggers and whoopie slings. I'll update my review as I get more time in it.

This is a nice hammock. In fact the only thing I dislike is the rope. I'd prefer a smaller rope and let my tree straps or webbing do the adjusting because it's much easier to adjust the webbing than to untie and retie the ropes. That being said, this was definitely one of the most comfortable hammocks I've laid in.
I used a Thermorest Z-lite pad which just fits into the sleeve (72" x 20"). I had a little trouble getting the pad into the sleeve but not too much, just took a little messing around to get it in there. The hammock lives up to it's claim, it's a very flat lay. Flat enough where I can lay on my side easily.
I opted for the Sky Bed without the bug net since I can leave that at home in the winter time and save a bit of weight.
I recommend this hammock especially for beginners who may already have a sleeping pad and don't want to invest the hundreds of dollars a down under quilt will cost.
One thing to note is if you have wide shoulders where you need a wide pad, you'll have to place something, maybe a cut down pad, to compensate. Or else your shoulders will get cold. Other than that, this is a great hammock to start hammock camping with. My 6 year old and I approve!
Get out there and have a good time.
Really comfy except in hot climate.

Have a pair of this hammock for more than 4 years now.
I really like the assymetrical shape and the fact you can put a sleeping mat in the made on purpose sleeve.
This feature really makes a difference in cold nights because of the added insulation provided by your airmatt.
My only regret: living now in a tropical country i can't use this hammock anymore... the fabric is thick, not breathable and thus: too warm! Even without adding a matt.
Have to buy a new light one maybe with mosquito net...
Best hammock out there

I've had this hammock for six years now. It's easily the best hammock on the market and well worth every penny, in my opinion. I frequent several online hammock forums and the "experts" ramble on endlessly about their Warbonnet's and their Hennessy's and their ENO's and then complain about how pads slip around in their hammock of choice.
Hammock Bliss Sky Bed solved that problem years ago but the so-called "experts" haven't figured that out yet. Easy to set up - I use ENO Atlas straps - lays flat, very comfortable - I'm asleep in five minutes and snoring loudly. I pair it with a Thermarest NeoAir sleeping pad and I'm toasty warm. Works for side-sleepers and back-sleepers equally well but I don't think it would be as comfortable for belly-sleepers. (But then no hammock would be.)
When it gets cold and drafty underneath, a simple, cheap, lightweight under quilt will help keep the chills away because my Thermarest is doing double duty as a pad and insulator.
If you are serious about getting a good night's sleep on the trail, this is the hammock to buy. (I'd give it 10-stars if I could.)
Perfect hammock for ground camper transition.

This one or the netted version will put a ground sleeper in the air using their existing pad and sleeping bag good for up to 3 seasons. Low price option to see if you will like hammock camping before spending a lot of cash with cottage vendors figuring it all out. CHECK out Derek Hanson, The Perfect Hang, to get started. Including this one, I own 10 different hammocks so I feel a little qualified.
Best hammock ever!

I own a Hennessy and an eno, but they do not compare in comfort and warmth to this hammock. I am planing on getting the one with bug netting cause I love the asym lay and comfort of the pad insert but I just need the netting to really be able to camp in northern Minnesota without getting eaten!
Love it

I absolutely love this hammock. The integrated sleeve is useful to hold a sleeping pad which prevents it from sliding around (anyone who uses a regular hammock know what I'm talking about) and gives added insulation (with the pad) when it's cold. The asymmetrical cut makes a near-flat lay and opens up the hammock space for broad shouldered people, or those who don't want to be "cocooned" in their hammock. One tip is not to hang it too tight. If your pad is curling at the edges in the sleeve then give it some slack. Hands down my favorite.

I own several camping hammocks and this one became my favorite immediately. Not only is the quality supurb but the innovation in design makes using a sleeping pad pure pleasure. I highly recommend this hammock. If you are trying to decide, consider that you have nothing to lose choosing this over other designs due to the ability to put a sleeping pad in the innovative sleeve. You can also sleep without the pad if you are in a warmer climate.

This is a fantastic hammock for camping or lounging around the house. My son really appreciates the fact that his sleeping pad fits right in the pocket to add to the comfort.
