Warning!
by Metzman1965 (1 out of 5 stars)

I originally gave this a 5 star rating. Looked great, easy to install. But about 20 months later, and less than 100 hours (yes 100), it only works on one color and it flickers. Its supposed to have a 65,000 hour life. That's 7.5 years if the light is on 24/7. I contacted the seller, bigfish1980, and was told: "generally speaking, our warranty is about one year." "Generally"? "about one year."? What is the warranty exactly? When I pointed out it was advertised as having a "3 year warranty!", the warranty information was removed from the description on Amazon within 12 hours.

Disappointed

Very dim light. I only have 15,000-20,000 gallons. This light doesn't reach out past 8 or 9 feet even on the brightest color. Going back to the stock flood light. I assume it would be a great light for a spa. Sorry the attached pic does not have better resolution, but enough to get the point across.

Brighter than I thought!

I finally got this lamp installed in our pool last week and it looks great! Previously we had a Jazz light with a super expensive 100W halogen bulb, so when it burned out I decided to shop for a LED pool lamp.

This lamp requires a standard fixture, so I also bought a Pentair that has a clear lens. This lamp in the Pentair fixture seems to light up the pool better than the Jazz light did! My wife commented also that it looked brighter than before.

Some have complained that this lamp doesn't light up their pool, so when I turned it on for the first time at night, I was pleasantly surprised. The original fixture had a blue-green lens, and I don't think it would have worked as well, which makes me wonder if the negative reviewers had fixtures with colored lenses. If you are considering this lamp, and your pool light fixture has a colored lens, then I suggest you plan on buying a new lens, or a fixture that has a clear lens. You could wait and see if this lamp works in your fixture, but then it's like doing it twice. Replacing the fixture only takes about an hour.

Our pool is 17,000 gallons, and shaped like a backwards geometric J. This light illuminates the opposite wall that is 33-ft away. It does not illuminate the tip of the J, but neither did the Jazz light.

Edit 09/29/17: Our favorite is the blue light, see attached photo.

"You Light Up My Pool..." Replacement for a failed unit quickly delivered by seller AM-World
by Barona (5 out of 5 stars)
December 10, 2017

Update: When one light failed 9 months post-purchase, seller AM-World quickly delivered a replacement unit. I bought two of these lights; only one has failed to date, the second is still going strong. Five-star review restored. Thank you AM-World!

Update: Seller responded to my request for warranty replacement and has advised it is sending replacement to me. I will update again once the promise is fulfilled.

Update, 9 months later....

I bought two of the 120v models. Spa Light will now only flash on and off, no matter what setting. Functionally useless.

Pool light is still working; time will tell if and when another time-consuming replacement will become necessary.

Original review:

Replaced two 300W incandescents with two of these LEDs; one in jacuzzi, one in pool. I run the jacuzzi in red mode. As red is less powerful, it is perfect for the "red hot" jacuzzi. I run the cool pool light in the subtle blue-purple shift mode. Sweet! Saving energy and $$$ on electricity. Colors are better than the old gels I used, which faded over time and were expensive to replace. The light is perfect and the pool and jacuzzi look amazing. Winner!

I bought new gaskets for the light fixtures... recommended, as a leaking fixture will put a damper on your party. So far, no performance issues with either light, and we're about five months in.

1000 hours only!!!
by justin matusiak (4 out of 5 stars)

Bought in 2016 worked for about a year and then started acting up. To this day I'd say it only has 1000 hours of use if that. The description claims 65,000 hours of life that's total BS, I took the light apart and there are multiple LEDs that have failed on the board. Contacted the company they gave me a song and dance about it being a year warranty only but would be glad to see me a new one that's "upgraded" for $250 bucks. Horrible customer service and zero assistance on lifetime product support like the description claims.

Update: after posting this review I was contacted by the poor English typing customer service rep who all of a sudden was willing to send me a new light. I have received a new light and the 3 times I have used it l, it was worked as expected. So basically if yours screws up write a piss poor review and haggle with them and they will send you a new one. Just because I basically stuck it to the man and for shits and giggles this gets a 4 stars rating now. MERICA!!!

Great upgrade to my pool....!
by Tatertot (5 out of 5 stars)
December 20, 2015

I finally replaced a Pentair bulb that burned out some time ago as I thought I had to buy an entire housing. This bulb fit perfectly and works just as described. I'm glad I bought a new gasket as suggested by other reviewers as my old one turned out to be deteriorated. The color combinations from the bulb are great and upgrade the appearance of my pool dramatically from the old bulb. I rate this as a top "I should have done this earlier" purchase.

Super cool!

I bought this light to install with our new pool liner. When it arrived, I just had to try it out inside the house before the pool guys came to install everything. I thought it was cool that it will screw into a standard light socket. I love it and the kids do too! Super cool.

Finally the new liner was installed and the pool filled. Turned it on and it looks great! Our favorite is the blue. It really makes our new liner look great at night! Thanks.

Designed to fail past the warranty
by SandyEgo (1 out of 5 stars)

This light was great while it worked for less than 2 years. Unfortunately, I bought it when it came out and paid double what it sells for now.

Total time ON was probably less than 100 Hrs. Bottom line, don't buy Chinese designed junk. It's part of their business model to design it poorly so it fails and you have to buy another one. Not good for your wallet or our planet.

Pleasantly Surprised!!
by Ben Wilson (5 out of 5 stars)

Installed this light today. Works great! Red, as stated in other reviews, hardly goes anywhere in the water. Everything else does great. The "fades" aren't that fading. It's a sudden jolt of a fade when going through all the colors. When going between two colors like blue & cyan, it's great! I'll keep you updated if something goes wrong. Until then assume all is well!!!

Rip off
by John Bushar (1 out of 5 stars)
August 31, 2016

This is a total waste of money, we hardly used it and now it won't turn on at all. Had an eletrician here to make sure it wasn't the wiring because we really didn't think it would die so quickly. Glad we spent money on him coming here to find out it's a junk product. Horrible waste of money, we can't return it, it lasted just long enough to go past the date. This company is just here to rip you off don't buy anything.
