Bulky but Great
by sshays (4 out of 5 stars)

As an electrical engineer, I am always looking for cool new gadgets to make my life easier.

The first thing i noticed about this charger is it is a bit bulkier and heaver than expected. A bit cumbersome for a pocket but doable in an emergency. I think this is better for bags or something like a camping trip rather than carrying it at all times.

As far as charging mine worked great with borderline non stop use for about a year and a half. The 2 amp charging port (unlabeled which was annoying) charged my phone fairly fast and allowed me to use my phone for literally days longer than normal. If you are not in a hurry or need to charge multiple devices, the other socket also worked well but over time would not charge my phone while I was on it but rather slow it's decharge.

As far as capacity is concerned this battery pack was good for about 4 to 5 charges. It also has the standard built in flash light which is more of a novelty than anything but can be useful if you do not have your smart phone.

Besides it's size, the only down side is it's recharge time which take about 24 hours to fully charge it back up.

Compared to other devices this one is fantastic and I would recommend spending the extra money but towards the end of it's life this will stop working well.

I really want to like Limefuel Blast L130X
by Scott B. (1 out of 5 stars)

Update from three stars to one star:after continued use it's become frustrating to not have this battery pack charge an iPad at full 2.1A. I need this to work while traveling and it can't even maintain an iPad's charge while in use. I can have it plugged in, spend an hour on a plane, in airplane mode, at medium brightness, and the iPad will still drain 5%. Yes, it would have drained 10% or 15% without the limefuel, but other battery options will actually increase the percentage while in use. I just can't endorse this product when it fails it's own specifications.
-------

I really want to like my Limefuel Blast L130X, but I'm struggling since it's not operating as advertised. It's compact for how much battery life it provides but it doesn't charge at advertised amperage. According to the package it is supposed to provide 2.1A per USB port, but when an iPad or iPad Air are plugged into either port they both will say "not charging" which is what you get when you when charging off .5A standard USB port. It will eventually charge the iPads, if not in use at the same time, but at a slow rate.

You will probably have better luck, but from what I've read, I'm not alone. So consider it a roll-of-the-dice.

Would buy again and again and again

Awesome idea. Charge it and keep it in your backpack. This is great for outdoor recreation as well. I own a headlamp that charges through USB ports so this battery is a must have on camping trips. My only regret is not paying a little more for the more powerful battery. Still though this battery can charge my smartphone at least twice. This thing is perfect for music festivals or really anywhere you need to charge your anything up. Also I've noticed my devices all charge faster with this battery pack so much so that I don't even plug my phone into the wall anymore if this thing is all charged up.

Worthless and just out of warranty!
by BikrGurl115 (1 out of 5 stars)

This product went belly up after about 16 months. I had the 15600 model. I followed all the instructions. In that 16 months, I probably only used it about a dozen times to charge my iPhone in emergency situations or one time when I was out camping for 6 days. It was handy when it worked, but after 16 months, the would not charge up anymore. I tried everything; different cord, different plug, different socket but it would not charge! I contacted Limefuel, but the warranty is only 12 months. So basically, I paid 50.00 for about 18 charges when it did work. Wow was that stupid expensive! It's worthless now. I wish I had never purchased this. I ended up having to buy a different charger.

Top notch!

I received this yesterday, and ran my battery down on purpose to try it. First, I'd like to say that it comes charged, ready to use. Secondly, their customer service is great. They responded quickly, and didn't even snicker at my question. (Turns out the instructions were more clear than I initially thought!) Last, and most importantly, my phone went from 63% to 97% (when I unplugged it), in 64 minutes. That's a Samsung Note 2, folks! And, while I was uploading videos, surfing the internet, and playing games! Top drawer, Limefuel! P. S. I purchased the carrying case, too, and I'm glad I did.

My favorite external battery pack
by Daniel Ernst (5 out of 5 stars)

I have several of these, in different sizes, and they all perform well. I took them with me on a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro to keep iPhone, Kindle, and several large SLR batteries charged. It was cold, yet I had no problem keeping everything charged, and the units still had significant charge left after nine days on the mountain. They're also great for keeping my devices topped off while traveling.

I have several other brands of batteries. The Limefuels are the best constructed, easiest to operate, and most reliable.

Buyer beware: Fails to take a charge after 6 months.
by Gaudi (2 out of 5 stars)

Mine was fine every time I used it, approximately six times over several months, then it stopped taking a charge. Their customer support says to use a 2 amp charger but honestly most people are not going to know how to identify such a device, and they are in my opinion rare. Example, the stock charger that comes with an iPhone is only 1 amp, and the output of my 5 year old Macbook Pro is less than 1 amp. The manual does not explicitly say to use a 2 Amp charger and I'm not going to buy one on the hopes that it works. So what would have gotten five stars gets only two, and it should be 1.

Worked for a while, now doesn't, but great customer service
by Dustin Sneath (4 out of 5 stars)

The unit I had worked great for about 6 months but then stopped being able to charge my devices. I contacted customer support and received the following message within hours:
"We apologize that unit is no longer working as expected. We will get a replacement unit shipped to you shortly. Please recycle or dispose of the defective unit within the regulations of your area. Many local electronics stores offer free recycling locations. We will email you with tracking information once your replacement is shipped."

Great customer service and prompt response. Will buy again.

Love the battery, wish I would have gotten the 18000mAh
by Kenny Embry (4 out of 5 stars)
January 21, 2014

I was looking for a nice, portable external battery for my phone and tablet. I looked seriously at the Anker Astro3, which I still think is a great product, but eventually went with the Limefuel 13000mAh based on reviews. I don't regret getting the Limefuel, but in retrospect, I wish I would have gotten the 18000mAh. Having owned this unit for about a week, let me give you my pros and cons of this external battery.

Pros:
*The soft feel of this battery is reminiscent of the Nexus 5. It has a soft touch rubber feel I like a lot. It doesn't show fingerprints, and it's easy to hold without slipping. It just feels great in the hand.
* Unlike most other external batteries, you don't have to push any buttons to start charging. I have another external battery (a huge 26000mAh IntoCircuit behemoth) which requires the user to press "on" to start charging the battery. A couple of times, I've forgotten to press that button, meaning I was wasting time thinking I was charging. Not with the Limefuel. It automatically starts charging as soon as you plug in your item. Smart!
* Another great perk of this battery is you don't have to figure out which port to plug your tablet into, then your phone. Somehow this battery figures out which can take a full 2.1amp charge, and which will only take 1.0amp. With both my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, the battery has accurately given the 2.1amp charge to the tablet regardless of which port it's using to charge. Again, nicely done.
* While I haven't done any truly scientific studies to find out battery efficiency, I have no problem believing this is 90% efficient. Compared to my other batteries, this lasts longer on a charge.
* Price. For a similar Anker battery (which I still think is high quality), you'd pay $50 for the Astro3 with less capacity (12000mAh for the Anker, 13000mAh for the Limefuel). This battery comes in $10 cheaper with greater efficiency AND greater capacity.
* Build quality. This seems VERY well built. I wouldn't want to test this, but I wouldn't worry about dropping this battery.
* Aesthetics. Finally, I like the way this looks. It is minimalist. Two output ports to charge your devices, one input port to charge the battery, an LED light and a button to check charge/toggle the flashlight. Nothing more.

Cons
* A little on the heavy side. With great build quality comes a little heft. It's not bad, it's just a little heavier than I anticipated.
* Charging time. First of all, for the capacity of this battery, the 10 hours I spent charging it was probably reasonable. Limefuel has done a good job of developing technology to charge at 2.0amps, which is a first. However, 10 hours is still a long time to charge anything. If you plan to use this a lot, you're going to have to budget some substantial time for charging.
* No charger, just a cable. Not including a charger is becoming the norm, and it's hard to argue people don't already have a ton of chargers. But what I've begun noticing at my house is chargers begin failing. I bought a ton of Kindle Fires for my kids, and eventually every one of those chargers has died. It's a cost cutting move for Limefuel to cut the charger, but I just wish they would have included one. By the way, I also wish ice cream still came in half gallons rather than 1.75 quarts.
* Size. Again, the size isn't bad. When I put it behind my Nexus 4, it is a tad wider (maybe 1/2"), a little shorter, and about twice as thick. However, compared to the 18000mAh battery, this is only .3" shorter for more than 30% less capacity. Honestly I wish I would have gotten the 18000mAh if they were going to be essentially the same size.

In the end, I really like this battery a lot. It does all the important things right, and I'll be very interested to see what's up Limefuel's sleeve next. I still like Anker for their breadth of products and high quality, but in my mind, I think Limefuel seems to be as good or better than them.

Again, my only regret is I wish I would have gotten the 18000mAh battery rather than the 13000mAh. However, if cheap is the word, it's hard to beat the 13000mAh for value.

First Power Pack
by Z. Taylor (4 out of 5 stars)
September 9, 2013

Electronics:

iPad 3rd Generation (Retina/30-Pin)

HTC One
--

I got this shipped through Amazon Prime, so naturally it came right on time.

The product package was wrapped in a low-quality saran wrap, not heat sealed, no tape. Just budget-brand cling wrap. That got me very nervous as previous reviews have stated defective products shipped the same way. (-1 Star)

Upon opening the box, I found a dual use Micro-USB / 30-Pin cable, and the battery pack. There looked to be some scuff-marks on the pack, but they came right off when I rubbed them with my shirt. This looked to be a refurbished product if I ever saw one.

I used the included cable, and my iPad charger (rated at a 2.1A output) to charge the pack. It seemed to be taking a lot longer than I thought... I replaced the included cable with one of my own and it charged a lot faster. I let it charge overnight, and it was fully charged by morning (from the shipped 50%).

The pack itself has 2 female USB outputs, one rated at 1A, and the other at 2.1A. I used the 1A output for the HTC One, the pack charged my phone even with GPS+Navigation, and streaming music through Spotify. The 2.1A port seemed to charge the iPad, but very very slowly. I just got off a Skype call, and the battery was at 30%, and I let it charge for about a half-hour and it was only up to 32%. It charges just fine, although very slow (compared to the official Apple charger).

The green charging lights are very difficult to read at any angle other than right in front of your eyes, if the pack is laying down on a table and you try to check it, it will look like only 1 light is on, when in reality there are 3. The built-in LED-flashlight isn't all that bright, but it can be useful in a pinch.

Overall this was a great first-choice for a long-lasting power pack. The design is great, its fairly light, and very small (for the mAh it holds). I just really hope myLimeade steps it up with Amazon Fulfilled purchases, and professionally seals the products from now on, or at very least, indicate that it was previously opened.
