You get what you pay for.

If you're looking for a screen to watch the occasional backyard movie, this is the one to get. It's lightweight, very portable, and setup is easy. The blowers are integrated into the bottom of the screen and quiet enough that they're easily drowned out by the audio. The screen surface comes folded and it's very prone to wrinkles, so I recommend rolling it up after the first use and storing it separately.

As for build quality, you get what you pay for. A decent commercial grade screen of this size can start at around $1500. This is definitely consumer grade. I've used it 3 times, and some of the stitching is already starting to fall out. The plastic stakes that came with it are fragile. I've broken 2 just by pushing them into the ground manually. The screen surface is held on by plastic buckles, and although the straps are adjustable, you can't tighten them to tension the screen. The frame isn't strong enough. That also means it's more susceptible to wind.

My biggest issue was with the manufacturer. When I received the screen, one of the buckles was missing from the screen surface. I contacted them with pictures of the problem, and they offered to send me JUST the buckle, and told me I'd have to sew it on myself. Fortunately, Amazon's customer service made up for it and I got the replacement delivered today.

Bottom line: Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. This is a novelty item intended for occasional personal use. If that's what you're looking for, you can't beat it for $150.

Blowup movie screen , honest and accurate review
by The Rod Works (5 out of 5 stars)
April 23, 2015

I just wanted to do an accurate review .

For the money it's great . Easy to put up and the blowers are quiet and with a decent set of speakers or (1) powered pa speaker 400 watts that's what I use , you don't hear the blowers at all .

The wrinkles most of them you don't even see when the movie Is playing and this was on a chilly day and only up about an hour before playing a movie.

If you have used Christmas and Halloween blow ups it's the same quality , and with a little patience last a bunch of years as mine have.

Now I do recommend getting a plastic storage tub instead of trying to put it back in that bag . This is so its easier on the blowup plus it's quicker to put it away and better for protected storage .

My first time putting it up took about 20 minutes including staking it down . It took about 25 to take down letting it deflate on its own . I am not going to use the zippers to deflate it , no reason and it's just a good place for a leak to develop.

I really don't have a single complaint about it for only $159.00 it's a lot of cheap fun and it's a great picture .

I have a 2200 lumimun Mitsubishi projector , and using (1) 400 watt powered pa speaker ( eBay cheapie) , running through my lap top and it looks , works and sounds great.....

And by the way I am very picky person so my review is honest and accurate and for the money I couldn't be more pleased . If something changes I'll let you know .... Get one and have some summer fun with a movie under the stars...

Tried two different screens and both didn't work correctly.

I hate leaving negative feedback but I feel like I need to on this product. When the screen came only one of the fans was working so once you attached the screen on it didn't have enough air to hold it up. I returned it that same day for a return and was happy to see they sent me the replacement as soon as I noted through amazon that I was returning it. The second screen came within two days and we set it up with no problems but midway through our movie it suddenly stopped working completely and deflated. At first I thought it was the power outlet it was hooked into but after moving it several times and making sure all the wires were still connected we knew it was an issue with the electronics inside the screen. We put it away that night and I tried again the next day to see if it had overheated or something but it wouldn't blow up at all. I had to return it again and this time got a full refund. I have very disappointed kids because this was their summer surprise for getting good grades. The customer service on getting a refund was easy, but I would NOT order this product.

Awesome

Love this thing. It's huge! Used it in the backyard for a graduation party with a projector, blu-ray player and computer speakers. Easy to set up and take down, fans not too loud at all. Picture is without the screen attached for scale.

Great movie screen for the price!

We love it and so does the rest of the neighborhood. This thing is big. When it is set up you feel like you are at the drive in. (Well we do anyway) I bought it because I wanted an elevated screen. This is perfect. We set it up in a 5 acre field we will have anywhere from 10-40 people watching the movie. Because it's elevated, everyone can see with no issues. I use a Projector that is 3500 lumens and had. The picture quality between the projector and the screen are great! It inflates quickly and deflates pretty quickly. It isn't heavy but I bought a black plastic box with wheels to store it in and move it around.

As others have said. If it doesn't inflate completely check the zippers around the fans. Make sure they are zipped shut. We lay it on it's back and strap the screen to it then plug it in. Also if the screen straps are too tight (they are adjustable) it will not inflate completely. To deflate it I don't unzip the zippers very far as others have said because the zippers aren't the greatest. I unzip them just enough to allow the air to escape. I am very happy with this and am glad I bought it.

Great Purchase!

We bought this about a month ago and have used it twice. It's very simple to put together. It comes with stakes and ties and has 2 fans (one on each side) that blow to inflate. The fans are not loud. I never heard the fans once the movie was playing. The screen does show some wrinkles but you don't notice them at all once the movie is playing. This was worth every penny! We are a hit with the neighbors. Big movie night party every Friday now! This could get expensive. LOL

perfect for an outdoor cinema!!!
by Andrea Sánchez Quintana (5 out of 5 stars)

The screen is exactly as it appears on the pictures. I got it for an special surprise (celebrating my 3rd anniversary) and I created an outdoors cinema, adding the inflatable screen add that SPECIAL TOUCH I was looking for! my boyfriend was so excited and absolutely loved the surprise. The screen is very easy to use, just plug it to an outlet and voilá! I didn't even need to secure it to the floor or anything. The only difficult part is to put it back on the bag.

Awesome outdoor screen!

5 star review! 100% recommend this product to anyone looking for an outdoor movie screen! The build quality is flawless...the screen is perfect, the buckles and straps and stakes and nylon tie downs are better than I have ever seen before. The fans that blow the screen up literally take less than a couple of minutes to stand the screen up and it's just amazing. The fans have no problem maintaining the screen and they stay cool. The fabric that makes the base of the screen has been put through the ringer, I thought for sure we ripped it several times, and NO, it's super strong.

I highly recommend using the tie downs exactly how the instructions recommend. They keep the screen steady if the wind is blowing.

For those who say the screen wrinkles, of course it does somewhat if you keep the screen folded, however, once you start watching the movie, you really don't notice the folds much at all....if you want no wrinkles, you will need to keep the screen unfolded...but you really won't mind like I said once you start watching the movie, it's barely noticeable. The base comes with a very sturdy bag to store it in while not using it...great material and very durable.

This was a birthday present for our kids for outdoor movies, and I cannot recommend it enough!

Convenient, Portable Outdoor Projection Screen
by Josh (5 out of 5 stars)
August 20, 2019

Here's a first impressions review of the Gemmy Airblown Projection Screen.

I got the basic model, the trapezoidal 91" one, so my impressions will be based on that unit.

In the Box>

Everything comes in a one-foot-cube double-wall cardboard box. I recommend keeping this to store and transport the screen.

The unit comes in several pieces.
> The inflating frame is made from a light weight parachute-like nylon material. The blower motor is installed in the lower corner, and can be removed.
> The projection screen is made from a heavier burlap/canvas like material. One side is white, the other is black. It installs into the frame via a fair number of clips, and can face either direction.
> A small bag full of stakes and ropes that you secure to a pair of X-straps on the sides of the frame with metal clips.

Setup>

Setup is easy, and can be performed within 10 minutes.

Three of those will be spent waiting for the thing to inflate.

Just set it out, power it up, tie it down, and clip up the projection screen.

Then adjust your projector and you're in business.

Teardown is a little less elegant, but isn't too inconvenient.

Just take down the screen, power down the blower, pick up the tie-downs, then roll the entire shebang into a heap of nylon around the blower motor, before dropping it all back into the box it came in.

Then I fold the tie downs and drop them into a bag, fold the screen back up, and place it safely on top.

Electrical>

SOMEBODY's going to ask, so I'm going to provide. I used a Hopi 9800 "Kill-a-watt" style meter to make these measurements.

The blower draws 120w when at full power while it's inflating the frame.

This then falls to around 95w once the frame's fully inflated.

Power factor is around 0.9, with no detectable inrush current.

There is a 5A inline fuse in the power cord. If you've used any late model box or desk fan, you know the type I'm talking about. It holds a spare.

It is audible, but not too much so. I'd place it at about the same as found in inflatable holiday decorations, and I know you've seen those once or twice.

Any decent audio system that could give a group of people a satisfying movie experience will drown out that blower no problem.

The blower is weatherized but not waterproof. The manual warns against direct exposure to water. I would power it down if it starts raining while you're using it.

Picture>

The heavy canvas projection screen gave a beautiful picture using my Epson Powerlite 826+ set to Eco power in twilight conditions from several points in the projector's working range. It had no problem filling the usable area of the screen.

Just as Advertised
by Lindsay Dolotina (5 out of 5 stars)

Received this screen about a week ago and used it over the weekend. As others have stated, the zippers were partially open on both fans. I set the screen up at night and couldn't find the zippers if my life counted on it. Eventually found them circling the fans at the bottom.

The buckles are pulled to their tightest, so you may want to loosen them as the screen may bow in a little. Screen itself is full of wrinkles, but I'd assume leaving it in the sun for a few days would cause them to fall out. I folded the screen back up, but with less folds. Left the screen out of the bag.

Buy a separate tub for the inflatable. Stuffing it back in the bag is possible, but it's really a tight fit getting it back into the bag. Looking forward to more family fun with this screen!
