I love the FitDesk 2
by Wilco (5 out of 5 stars)

Update:
After owning this product for almost a year I had enjoyed it very much and was thinking of buying 1 as a gift for a friend. So when I was reading the reviews I was surprised to see my review was the number 1 rated on the page. This was exciting so I thought well let me give an update to the product after using it for 1 year.
Here are my detailed experiences. I hope you enjoy.
#1 reason to buy - gets a lot of use. I was quite surprised how much I use this FitDesk. I would estimate I use this bike for 2-3 hours a day and about 4 days a week. This is more than I have used any exercise bike before, so I really recommend this for that reason...and others.

Comfort - the saddle and bike design work well for me. I had read reviews on other bikes about comfort issues and was a little concerned this would be like that.
Happy to say that after a little time in the saddle I got use to it and have no more issues getting on and riding for long periods. I remember the first few weeks I used a pair of padded bike shorts to help with adjusting to so much exercise time.

Desk use - I like the non slip surface and overall quality of this part. I learned that I could bring the computer closer to me so I could lean back by placing the computer on both the desk and armrest at the same time. We have the optional wide desk kit they sell. It has helped me have room for a mouse and my morning coffee. This seems to be sold separate but is nice.

Reliable- my family and I have used this for almost a year at an average of 60 hours a month. The odometer has turned over once and at 5737miles now. So with over 15,000 miles of use and really no maintenance I would be confident to say it had performed quite well.
Still very quiet and looks like new.

So I am sitting here pedaling on my new FitDesk 2 and thinking I really need to write a review.

This is not my favorite thing to do but I feel I need to tell people about this product.

So what I have found is that it really works great for both my fitness

and my ability to get the extra things done, like sending a letter or email.
This was a pleasant surprise and I look forward to using it more everyday as part of my daily routine.
After having the FitDesk for a while I wonder how I lived without it.
Here is my list that I think will help others know what to expect.

Pros:

Comfortable Saddle and back rest with easy "pull" height adjustment knob

Desk Surface is extra gripping and slides back and forth to adjust to my height of 6'2" and my wife at 5'6"

Drawer under desk is nice touch

Ultra quiet and smooth pedaling also resistance level can be set very high

Arm exercise bands are great and easy to use

Massager is nice feature and I do use it

Feels stable when riding and no shaking screen

Folds up easy and rolls on wheels to make putting away fast

BEST OF ALL "I use it daily" unlike other exercise equipment I have tried

Cons:

Meter is simple, but keeps information so is easy to use

Would like other color option

Need 2 so I don't have to ask my wife if I can use it now

Great product, highly recommend because I am amazed at how much I use the product.

Way Better Than I Imagined....Very Happy With The FitDesk!!
by Ashley Davis (5 out of 5 stars)
May 4, 2016

I received my FitDesk late yesterday and already logged over 31 miles. In fact, I am typing this review while cycling.. The assembly was easy for me (50 YO Female) - took about 1 to 1.5 hours from receiving the box to sitting on the machine. The packaging was great and the unit is extremely sturdy. The desktop is perfect for my 11" laptop and my mouse to sit next to it, along with my phone. However, I did order the expandable desktop because I work from home and am behind my computer for 8-12+ hours per day so I need more space to have more things around me, i.e. notepads, remote controls, drink cups, etc. The desktop expander will be here later this week. The laptop is very stable and doesn't move at all with regard to wanting to slip off the desktop or bouncing while I am cycling. The rubber mat on the desktop is a very non-slip surface.

The unit is very quiet and in fact, I hear nothing really. My laptop fan is louder than the flywheel or whatever the mechanism is called. I would imagine this would work in any office or cubicle without anyone being the wiser, unless they actually see you on it. The seat is nice and large but is going to take some time to get used to. I wish there was a way to install a bench seat in place of the model that comes with the unit. However, I went ahead and ordered a gel padded seat cover to try instead of the fluffy towel I am currently using. As with any cycling, I am sure it just takes some getting used to because at the gym, I typically walk on the treadmill or use the elliptical where I am standing.

Some of the reviews have complained about the backrest not being able to lean back a little. I find that my posture is perfect on this because before I was mostly working from the couch with my laptop on my lap and found that I was slumping over at the neck and shoulders causing a lot of strain and stress on my neck. With the FitDesk I am sitting straight up and have no problem reaching my laptop with perfect posture. You can lean forward a little on the armrests and push the desktop away from you if you want a different position. Then to sit up straight, you just pull the desktop back toward you. I was a little confused that this was capable of happening before assembling the unit, but maybe I missed that in the description and reviews?

I haven't had a chance to try this with my Fitbit Charge HR to see how accurate the workout meter is because the Fitbit battery was dead. The fact that meter is located behind my computer screen is a plus for me, because in the gym I find myself staring at the distance, time, calories, etc. prolonging the workout and feeling like it is never going to be enough to finally finish. With the FitDesk, I just work away and then shocked at how long I have been cycling when I decide to finally look at it. I do get winded and sweat somewhat if I set the tension higher and cycle faster so no doubt I am receiving a workout. It's not like a spin class but then again, I could never get my work done on my computer while in a spin class. It still beats just sitting on my rear on the sofa while working and doing nothing for my health.

Overall, I am extremely happy with the FitDesk with the exception of the sore derriere. Can't wait until the desktop expanders and gel seat cover arrive. Just FYI, I was not paid or offered any discounts to post this review and I rarely ever post reviews for anything. Just your ordinary consumer finally happy with a purchased product.

Give it a try, you most likely will not be disappointed!

Needs some tweaks for short people, but over all functional
by M. David (4 out of 5 stars)

I'll start by saying that I really like the Fit Desk. I have been using it for about a week and my back and legs already feel better. I'm a consultant, and spend about 50% of my time in the field, and 50% writing. My struggle with standing or walking desks is that I sometimes have to not think about my body when I'm writing. If I sit too much, my lower back and legs suffer and my productivity goes down.

With the Fit Desk, I can sit still, pedal, lean on the seat, or stand over the seat, depending on what I feel like I want to do. It's easy to pedal while I'm reading and writing. I even pedal automatically without thinking about it. I can easily burn 500 to 600 calories in a day without much effort at all (assuming the read-out is remotely accurate).

The set up is very stable and I feel safe when I'm sitting on it. It's also very quiet. The adjustment knob seems to do what it needs to do, but I never use it on very high settings. The arm strappy things are kind of an awkward afterthought but they can help you elevate your heart rate quickly if you add them to the ride. I can't comment on whether it is fairly compact to store because, honestly, I haven't been able to bring myself to put it away. I just keep using it throughout the day, so why bother. However, when folded up, it takes up about 2 feet by 2 feet of floor space without the desk extensions, and it's about 58 inches tall at the highest point (the top of the read-out).

There are questions about how tall you need to be to use this bike. I'm 5'2 with about a 30 inch inseam. I'm almost too short for this bike, but I can make it work. I have the seat installed without the extender bracket and it's all the way down in the post. Since the seat is so low, it means that the desk is a little high for me to be 100% comfortable while working. As a result, there are a bunch of modifications I'm thinking of making to the bike so I can use it more comfortably.

Things that would improve this product in general:
1) Make the desk angle and height adjustable: In the pictures, it looks like the desk is more tilted down than it is in reality. It's nearly horizontal. I can make it work but it's kind of high for me and might figure out a modification/rebuild the desk out of pipe and plywood. A knob-joint at the point where the desk connects to the mounting bracket would be useful.
2) Improve the adjustment for the arm bar: The toothed mechanism for adjusting the arm rest bar limits the angles you can set it at. It's either too high or too low. I'll probably modify that too.
3) Make the desk forward/backward slide adjustment range of motion a little longer: I can't quite get the desk close enough to me, so my arms are straight out when I'm typing. The arm rests help, but it could all be better.
4) Make the seat adjustment knob low-profile: When I stand over the seat, the knob jabs me in the inside of my upper thigh. I'll probably find a replacement for that too.
5) Make the seat back more adjustable front-to back and up and down: The seat back can be tilted forward, and the pad can be installed in two different positions, but it wouldn't be that hard to make the system adjustable in a couple of different directions (e.g., up and down, and forward/backward) with knobs and slots or spacers or something. I'll fix that too.
6) Improve the computer strap system: If you use the desk extensions, the strap is harder to use. Honestly, the strap is barely needed.
7) Improve the desk extension connection: I like to remove the extensions when I'm storing or not using the bike so I don't use the screws they provide for permanently attaching the extensions. Some kind of quick-release knobs or clips would be helpful here. They do stay on just fine for light loads if you don't screw them on.
8) Move the cup holder to a different location: The thing takes up space right where a right-handed person might want to put a notepad or mouse pad. It's just not quite right. At least it has a notch for a standard coffee cup.

Also, I'll be adding a gel seat cover. The shape of the seat is a little sharp on the front edge. That's a problem for me on most bike seats though, and not necessarily a flaw of the bike. I'd consider adding the bike seat post adapter kit, but I think it would make the bike seat too high for me.

I know it sounds like maybe I don't like this bike with all these corrections. I recognize that most equipment is not built for everyone. Regardless, it's been a huge benefit for me to be able to ride this thing and use it. I feel better in the last week than I have in months. I'm clever enough to build some modifications on this thing and then I'll be kicking even more ass on it than I am now. In the meantime, I'll strap some blocks on the pedals so I can raise the seat. I hope this was a useful review.

Disappointed

VERY UPSET WITH THIS COMPANY AND THE PRODUCT!!!!! We got this for my husband who works from home. After using it once, the pedal broke so you can't use the pedal strap anymore (see picture). I tried to contact the company and got no response. Pretty disappointed as it would be a big pain to disassemble the bike to return it to Amazon.....

UPDATE: I got a hold of the company. They are shipping us a new pedal, but I was told that it is very common for the strap piece to break off and it is NOT covered under warranty because "they would be shipping out millions of pedals all of the time." Wow.....completely unimpressed! Customer support also told me to not use the straps because it is more comfortable, but we find it very difficult to use without the straps.....not a good purchase!

Very cool combination - great bike!

This is a very cool idea. It can be used as a standard bike (without the desk) too......and it folds for easy storage. Picked this up a great price on Prime Day with no regrets. Some of the silly built in "extras", like massage bar and the resistance bands are fairly pointless.

If you buy this, do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks to get the "FitDesk Desk Extension Kit for 3.0 Exercise Bike" - the extension kit is well worth it to top off this great bike. (

FitDesk Desk Extension Kit for 3.0 Exercise Bike
). The product title seems to have been changed to push the desk part as a tablet holder, but with the extensions you can use a real computer on the desk.

Don't waste your money on expert assembly.....it's pretty easy and straightforward to put together with clear directions.

Great idea, poor quality and workmanship. Needs heavier duty design to last more than 7 months
by Bountiful Helpings (1 out of 5 stars)

Lasted a whole 7 months. Strange noises from fly wheel leading to a disintegration of internal part. I took apart to see if I could fix and saw this in pics. You will need a special tool for proper removal of pedal crank, I cut the cover off because I wanted this fixed today, unfortunately the part is destroyed due to faulty design engineering and cheap parts. This is a great product idea, but it is not executed well. 7 months of 30 min 3x per week should not end like this. I have submitted a claim to the mfg, we will see what happens. For now this is where we are at.

I also purchased the desk extensions for about $50, as no laptop will easily fit on the basic desk part, a wireless keyboard doesn't fit either.

Again all great product ideas and I loved this while it worked.

Good luck

This bike is fantastic.

So, over the last few years, I have become very sedentary-- an assistant professor trying to reach tenure and writing a lot of articles. Good news is I did achieve it. But, I still sit, write, and grade a lot. I put this bike/desk together in about 30 minutes with some help from my husband. Most of the parts are already assembled. My package was missing one small washer which we added one of our own. I do a lot of spin at the class and the seat on this bike is wider, more padded. It does have a seat back but I don't use it because I am short and tend to sit up to type. The tension is tight so that will take some getting used to but it helps in that I am able to type and work like normal. In the hour that I have been on the bike, I have burned almost 400 calories. Those are calories I would not burn doing the same thing at my desk! That alone makes me love this bike. The desk is very stable and holds a large laptop. I did order the extension kit to hold my mouse and books. I also would recommend a small mat. It doesn't take up much room but we have wooden floors and use one just for protection. The handle bar, although odd at first is great because you can lean on it when you need to to type. There is also a tiny desk drawer under the table top that you can put your phone in. I would recommend ordering the water holder, which is a few dollars; I plan on adding that next!

REALLY QUIET and LOVE that I can use my laptop with this bike.
by Tony NYC,Top Contributor: Health & Wellness (5 out of 5 stars)

This is a WHISPER quiet exercise bike. I see that some people have complained about a clicking noise. I have only used mine for 3 days, but I will update this review if that problem ever arises.

I assembled the bike. It was very easy for me as I am very mechanically inclined. It would be better if you had a 5/8 open end wrench and a 13, 14 and 15mm sockets. There is one mistake on page 10 of the instruction manual. It states that you should check the tightness of the crank arms after the first couple of hours of use using a 14mm socket. Trust me, it is NOT 14mm, it is 13 mm. Not a big deal.

The bike is solidly built. I can see where some people feel that the desk could be make a little sturdier but I'm also factoring in price in this review.

A better design for the desk adjustments would be a welcome improvement, but since I am the only one using this bike, I won't have to be adjusting it after the first time, so for me, it's not an issue.

Mine did come with a bent saddle post (part number 66) which is what enables you to adjust the height of the seat. I shoved it in for now and I am using the bike. I called the company and they told me they would ship a new saddle post the next day at no cost. They did ship the part and I have the tracking number. I called customer service and spoke with the CEO whose name is Steve and someone else the next day. Both were very helpful and very communicative. I don't know why some people are stating that the customer support for this company is bad. I thought it was great.

I love the idea of the bike having a desk. Over the years ALL exercise equipment bored me. With my laptop, playing backgammon on line while I peddle away, the time seems to fly!

The seat feels a bit uncomfortable to me but my bike riding friends said that I would get used to it. I was going to buy a gel seat cover but I threw a down pillow over the seat and it helps a lot.

The unit is REALLY quiet, I mean like SILENT. I was worried about this because I have a tenant downstairs from me and I don't want to bother him. I am a night owl and I can use this without being concerned with any noise from it.

I think that this is a GREAT exercise bike (it's not really a recumbent but a regular exercise bike with a backrest and a desk) for the money. I just hope I don't get the clicking sound some have complained about. If I do, I will update this review.

For now, I am REALLY happy with this bike!

My 15" laptop sits on the desk firmly with NO need for a strap since the plastic desk is rubberized and has a lip so my laptop doesn't slide off.

UPDATE: 6-22-15 I really wanted to make the seat more comfortable so I ordered a few different seat cushions. WHAT A RELIEF! I bought the Derri-Air Luxury GEL Padded Seat Bicycle Seat Cover - Medium 1 1/2" thick. It fits PERFECTLY and it makes a HUGE difference in comfort. Just be sure to get the MEDIUM sized cushion. I don't see it here on Amazon so check their web site. The only one I see on Amazon is the larger Derri-Air cover. that one is NOT the right size. MEDIUM 1 1/2 inch thick is what you want.,

ALSO, I bought the desk extension kit. It gives me much more room for remote controls, eye glasses and other junk. It has a cup holder that should have been on the left and not the right side since there isn't enough room for a mouse if you use the cup holder, but for the price, I find it well worth it just for the extra room on top of the desk. If you want to use the right side of the desk for a mouse, I suggest you use a Track Ball instead or just use the touchpad on your laptop which is what I do.

So far, I put 127 miles on this thing and it's still whisper quiet. I hope it stays that way since other said that the bearings go and it starts clicking. If that happens, I will certainly update this review.

An uninspired workout complete with FGM.
by M. Armstrong (1 out of 5 stars)
July 16, 2017

I wanted an exercise bike that I could watch videos on my computer. This seemed to be exactly what I wanted, the reviews seemed great. Like others the pedals started clicking and acting up within a month. The odometer went out in the first week and only worked sporadically afterwards. The worst part for me was that once I was ready to up my game and increase the intensity of my work out, I found it to be impossible. You can increase the tension in pedaling but that is all. Moving your body to a different position is flat out impossible, the pedals are too far forward for a stand or squat stance. It is literally impossible to take a "spin" position on this bike. Also the seat is THE WORST, making your hoo-ha fall asleep and tingle (in the worst way possible) totally uncomfortable. You really can't get any work done on the desk because after 30 minutes your lower parts are BEGGING you to get off this damn thing. So forget about using it in a casual way just to burn more calories because even using it as a desk and not a cardio burning bike, your time is extremely limited unless you are into FGM.

it was nice for couple of month, then it lost tension, there is no resistance when you ride the bike, try to contact the manufacture, but nobody ever got back to me. so I spend over $300 for nothing :(
