We really liked the idea of this & though our son would love that it "conducts energy" and makes sounds, so we chose this over the other ones. It is a lot, I mean A LOT smaller than I expected (maybe 9 inches, max, from bottom of handle to top of hammer). I didn't read the dimensions, not even sure if the dimensions were listed. Anyways, both my boys did enjoy this . . . until they received one of the other ones that is a larger & a little more realistic looking. My 4 y.o. always almost always chooses the other one, while my 20 month old (who it is better suited for) will often times choose this hammer.

I was looking for the big foam Thor hammer for my nephew for Christmas, but couldn't find it at a reasonable price, so I opted for this one instead. It is a great size for little hands, and the light and sound effects make it extra fun! Once he discovered that the sounds and lights are activated by touching the hammer to metal, he went through the whole house touching it to do things and was so excited when it would light up! It was absolutely his favorite Christmas gift!

Super cute toy for your Avenger Fan

Got this for my 5 year old, he is a huge fan of the Avengers, and he just loves this hammer. I will admit that we lost the magnetic coin that came with it the 2nd day, but it doesn't really matter. Any metal will make the hammer light up and I found that even just swinging it quickly in my hand will make it work. Such a cute and educational idea, now my son really understands the concept of metal vs non-metal and magnetic properties.

Awesome toy until it broke after two days! My son loved it and was so excited to see what things around the house 'made lighting' with it. Disappointing that it stopped working because it's a great idea to get kids interested in more than just the typical superhero toys.

Doesnt light up and is pretty small

It's a nice concept if it was executed correctly. The metal detector works with no problems and it even makes sound. The hammer doesn't light up at all at about every attempt to try. My 4 year old was disappointed in the toy not working properly.

This is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but it's the perfect size for my 2 and 4 year old. They love it. It only lights up when it detects metal. I thought it would light or make sound when hit against something, but my boys don't seem to mind running around the house looking for metal things to make it light up and thunder!

Someone stole the hammer out of the Marvel box and I recieved a charger only!! Sad part is the amazon tape and box was intact so must have happened prior to shipping. What a joke.

My son loved it! I bought this as part of the Thor costume. Because it comes with a little metal "coin" that goes on top and make the hammer glow and make lightening sounds, it would be perfect. Unfortunately, the coin wasn't strong enough to stay on but my son was content with the effects produced. The best part: now that Halloween is over and the costume is put away, the hammer is still being used as a night light.
