As man who had the best intention of grappling, I appreciate this device. My only problem with it is that when in a closed position, the tines of the hook itself tear at the metal of the stem. So far this has not affected the functionality of the product. And my plans to be a super hero on weekends are unaffected.

I bought this product to specifically fulfil my childhood dreams of climbing with a grappling hook like a secret agent. When the product arrived at my doorstep I was immediately surprised by how small the product was. It is very mobile and easy to carry on the belt loop on my jeans. It is also quit hefty in weight compared to size as well. It can be quit difficult to turn the shaft when you want to extend and retract the claws, but I do not see that as a disadvantage. It is easy to swing with the right rope and definitely looks cool. The Jet black look and finish is done very well and is hard to scrap off. Don't worry about it rusting as well. Also I have used this to hook on branches to use as a rope swing into lakes and rivers during the summer time. Also it is very easy to hook the grappling hook on stones, stumps, and other terrain protrusions. You will not be disappointed in having this multi-functional and fun and cool product.

I used it only once but it grabbed hold of the limb (I had cut off with a pole saw about 10 feet high but hung up in the rest of the tree) then tied to my atv and pulled the limb down. The limb itself was about 25 feet long and I dragged it away so the grappling hook was pulling at least a few hundred pounds, it will come in handy.

If your looking for a grappling hook, stop. There is no need to continue to look. This grappling hook is probably the best hook Out there. It's built to last. EXTREMELY durable. Fits most purposes including climbing, pulling tree limbs, throwing to out of reach objects, ext. Also very portable with its folding claws. Carries huge amounts of weight (400kg. 800lb) and that's just for one hook. Use two hooks at once and it'll be able to move/carry over 1000lb guarantee. I actually use this hook myself for many different purposes but mostly for pulling trees and beaches out of the way on my farm. Great grappling hook.

I purchased this grappling hook to fish large branches out of a pond, combined with a 100' paracord. The design is great in that the grappling hook folds up and locks in a folded position for safe and easy storage and transport. When in the working position (arms locked in the spread position), the grappling hooks grabs extremely well and is quite strong- we pulled 200+ pound branches out of the water with this and never had any concern of the hook bending or breaking.

I tested the product this weekend at the mountains and it definitely passed all my tests. I'm 200+ pounds and had no issue handling my weight. Love the fact that it's a flat black matte finish for virtually no glare. Product seems very rugged and durable.

I use this to pull branches down from trees for trimming. Light enough to throw over high branches, sturdy enough to pull those branches out or down far enough to trim. Put some paracord on it and you're off to the races.

Grapple is nice to use, the fact that it folds make it handy get carry on the tractor my only complaint would be that the grapple arms are not notch for better hold. My first unit one of the grapple arms broke but was replaced in todays, I was very happy with the customer service.

This item arrived packaged very nicely. It is simple and easy to operate. This is not some gadgety ninja grappling hook although it would work for those purposes. I have been using it to pull down dead tree limbs and pulling stumps. This thing is solid and I was skeptical until after throwing it 50 feet up and it smashing down on the driveway for a weekend. It is very well made. I have used it for climbing but the eye hole on the hook doesn't allow for the most optimal gauge of rope. All in all it's very cool and very well made. It is hands down the best model of this type of device. I read the other reviews and can't see how anyone could be disappointed with this simple yet ingenious style of grappling hook. It's has been a lot of fun for both work and play.

I would use a little oil on the threads to keep it from rusting and ease of use. Def made of quality has some weight to it !

I wouldn't call this light weight, however, it is very sturdy and my husband has no problems with it. We have used it to pull limbs and debris from our pond on the back of our property. It is small enough that we can get it through the surrounding trees and still get to the limbs that have broken off in the middle of the pond (using a long rope). We can pull out the smaller limbs by hand but have tied it off to the riding lawnmower and pulled out larger pieces with no problems. I really like the way it folds up for storage. Not something I would leave around for the kids to play with. The tips are very sharp.
