Wasted My Money

I let my gadgetphilia get the best of me here and purchased this garbage tool that was probably OK when they thought of the concept but was a loss after the Chinese built it. Learn from my mistake.

Best part about this products was throwing it away

Normally info not write reviews because I'm a very busy person, but felt the need to share my experience: overall the concept is a great idea. The execution however is terrible. The first night the button that slides the Allen / wire stripper tool broke off. The blade is very thin and doesn't sit securely into the case when extracted and wobbles around a great deal. The pliers don't close all the way and are very flimsy. Overall I would pay well over $100 of this case was a quality built product. After three days of use I threw it in the trash when the knife button broke off and went back to my life proof nuud case. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODICT. TOU WILL BE EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AND WASTE YOUR MONEY.

This is my personal review of the task one iPhone case for iPhone 5/5s. I work as a electrician and in construction so when I received this as a gift I was more than excited because I'm always trying to consolidate the amount of items and tools I carry regularly in my pocket.

Pros:
1. It's well packaged with detailed instructions about the unit and even comes with a free screen protector.
2. It's light weight and to assemble you must screw it together with provided screws and Allen wrench. I've dropped it a few times and have had no issues. It is also light weight and not much bigger than your average phone case. A big +++
3. Consolidation of my pockets is a plus. I used to carry my phone of course, a knife, Leatherman and usually a couple of smaller screwdrivers. This case provides all that and some extras including Allen wrenchs, bottle opener, pliers and my personal favorite a quote stripper which is one of my favorite points of the case as I do electrical work and this usually saves me a trip to the truck when I'm trouble shooting.
4. It's just cool. Everyone asks about it and it performs as it should.

Now I had high expectations, maybe too high, whenever I received this case. So up next comes the negatives in my own personal experience with this item.

Cons:
1. Putting this case onto my phone took alot of patience when lining it up to insert it. I have larger hands so screwing the frame together took control and required some time. Once together I have noticed there are small cracks around the back that aren't flush which is kind of annoying.
2. I received the case with red trim and this was the most disappointing feature. I opened the package and already noticed that the red rubber trim was already coming off. When I rub my finger up and down it the trim starts to bunch up and looks as though it's glued together very very poorly. I don't give the trim longer than another month before it starts falling off. Major eye sore and a overall disappointment as it appears they went cheap here.
2. The center button that releases the Allen wrench is very loose but all the rest are tight. I tend to test my finger there and it's annoying how it feels like it's going to pop off.
3. The other big disappointment is the knife blade as it was the number one reason why I was so excited about this case. It opens and retracts well but when open the blade is wobbly which is something that is undesirable to anyone who uses a knife consistently. This needs to be addressed. The button on here also seems loose.

Overall I like the case and I love the concept I just think that for the money you are spending you should have something that doesn't cut corners that unfortunately the Task One seems to have done.

Who doesn't want a bunch of sweet tools in their iphone case! At first I was a little confused about how to get the knife out and back in, so I was going to rate it a bit lower, but the instructional video on the manufacturer website showed pretty clearly how to do it so I am going to give it 5 stars. I have not dropped my phone with it yet, but I think it can take it, seems super strong.

last time I use it assemble all my desk and chairs I bought from Ikea, no problem at all.

most important of all, when show your iphone in front of other iPhones, this case stands out your difference right away.
