Epic Costume Fail-- Great in Theory, Horrid in Design
by Kitty LeNoir (1 out of 5 stars)

My dog is a terrier mix. She's about 15 lbs and a size M in doggy clothing, and this costume was way too big on her.

As many product reviews stated, this item was very poorly executed. The head piece kept falling over and twisting around, making it difficult for my dog to walk. The "rider" is soooooooo heavy, it kept falling over sideways (like a drunk) and kept startling my dog to the point that she stopped walking all together and wouldn't move until I removed the costume entirely. No amount of pinning would keep this rider upright because it's too top-heavy (seriously, the rider's head weighs as much as a grapefruit). I spent almost an hour pinning / adjusting / readjusting the costume on my dog, and she wore it for a total of 10 minutes, which is the time it took to walk from home to down the block, because we stopped every 3-steps to fix the rider. Total waste of my time and money.

I really wish this costume had worked out because I'm a huge Star Wars fan. It's a very clever idea, but just poor in product design / execution. Unless you have a bigger dog ( like a boxer or pitt) and are willing to invest in some time sewing / pinning to reinforce the rider, don't bother ordering this item.

Good Star Wars costume for the mutt...
by J. Rowan (4 out of 5 stars)

A nice costume for a mid-sized dog. Although it is adjustable, it needs to fit a little tightly otherwise the weight of the Tusken Raider will make it roll to the side. Also, it took a LOT of safety pins to get the Tusken to sit properly. Without them, he flops off the back or side.

Be less stingy with the Velcro.

I bought this costume for my pit bull. The saddle and mini figure fit great. Unfortunately the headgear did not. The Velcro straps were too short and they didn't reach around my dog's xl head. I had to use a piece of ribbon to aid in keeping it on his dome. I think the costume makers should take into consideration that block-headed dogs like getting dressed up for Halloween too. Besides this one oversight , it was a great costume.

Great costume for dogs or a small reindeer
by Mark Heffernan (4 out of 5 stars)
December 14, 2018

Saw this a while ago during a Halloween promo, but I don't have a dog. We do a reindeer pass for Xmas and the price was right to pull the trigger. It worked out great for a Star Wars friend. It was WAY too big for my little reindeer but I was able to double wrap the straps around and velcro so it was pretty secure. I would say it fits a medium sized animal.

PROS: The Tusken Raider is spot on. Well done complete with his feet sewn into the foot holsters and his hands on the reigns. The velcro straps are well designed and close tight.

CONS: As with other reviews, the Tusken Raider didn't seem to be attached to the saddle in the front. Not sure if this was defective or by design, but it is resolved with some safety pins. Also, as noted by a friend... the Bantha does not have a beard.

Sizing stinks
by Rachael Fayard (1 out of 5 stars)

Costume looks cute on the picture--and I have a dog of similar size as shown and read the sizing before buying. The head piece was way to small for my aussie while the saddle was way too large. Nothing would hold it in place--excepting telling my dog to stay. He was miserable. Won't buy one of these "rider" type costumes again.

Cool costume needs size adjustments
by Elizabeth Lukjanovs (4 out of 5 stars)

I was very happy with the product the only complain I have is that the headpiece was way too small. It looks like it would only fit the head of a small dog, as in shih-tzu,poodle, dachshund or smaller. The body piece was a little big for my dog Kilo but we made it work by jusy tying the straps together. The reins were a little long too we had to tie those as well so the little dude would stand upright. So basically a lot of adjustments but hey we made it work and Kilo looks pretty freaking cute!

One could only hope
by Maleck135 (2 out of 5 stars)

Being such a huge Star Wars fan determined this purchase for my 25 lbs Mini Labordoddle. I even recorded an unpacking video because I was so excited when it came. However, this costume did not stay on my dog. The Tusken Raider was too heavy and would just fall backwards. I spent time trying to get the head piece to stay on hoping that the reins would help the doll stay upright. But nothing I did helped.

So I requested a refund but the company will only allow exchanges or credit that had to be used by the end of the month. Very disappointed in this purchase and did not see another costume that I would want to spend shipping to return this item for an exchange. So I listed it used on Amazon.

Was hoping this would be my favorite pet costume of all time! Especially in time for the new movie in December!

Oh well, one could hope.

Best Bantha costume!
by None Yabiz (5 out of 5 stars)

This stayed on my girl a lot longer than I expected. Had to adjust some things to fit her- best thing was to temporarily sew it to her harness- the sand person stayed up for most of the night, although by the time the pic was taken it was time to take it off. Big hit in the neighborhood even with the sleeping sand person on her back!

Costume for A Dog With Impossible Proportions
by Reba Joy (1 out of 5 stars)
October 28, 2017

If your dog has the head the size of an acorn and a body the size of a crysler, then this costume is perfect for them! The head piece is incredibly small with teeny ear holes meant for a little mouse I think? About half a centimeter of Velcro was used for the whole ensemble... not very intelligent seeing it's supposed to be one size fits all. Very disappointed that I spent 15 dollars on this.
