Retractable Hidden Blade directions:

Slide the switch above the skull to the ‘on’ position to lock the blade inside the blade compartment.  Slide the switch to the ‘off’ position to unlock the blade and press down on the skull to eject the blade from the blade compartment.

Ok so this thing is well made, works like its suppose to and the safety works like it is suppose to. I'm not sure if others with bad reviews got faulty ones because the one my son got is perfect. He wears it constantly and is constantly extending the blade and it still works like it is suppose to. He has been dressed like an assassin since Christmas, I figure that is a TRUE test for his hidden blade and it has held up perfectly! Only con would be the top piece is very hard and doesn't give at all, it doesn't conform or anything just a hard piece of formed plastic. My son LOVES it, he doesn't see any cons (it is also LOUD when you extend the blade) He absolutely freaked when he put it on and he is an Assassins collector so he knows what he's looking for! We would give it more stars for details but alas 5 is all we can do!!

Excellent. Very strong spring, mechanism works like magic. The reviews stating that the blade is curved or bent are correct, but after receiving it I can say with almost absolute certainty it is intended to be that way to guide the point away from the users hand in case of accidental deployment. My only concern is for the plastic "belt" that goes around your wrist and the the blade mount. The little faux buckle part is not forgiving at all. It hasn't broken yet, but I imagine it will in due time. Other than that it's a great little piece of gadgetry, and at $34 it's really very worth the money.

Buyer beware. We actually bought two of these (brand new) for a costume and the production quality is wildly different between the two, which indicates to me a quality control & supply problem. One was in good shape, well painted, and worked without issue. The other was painted terribly, put together shoddily, and had a visibly worse quality of wrist strap than the first. What a mess.

Surprisingly big but cool-looking

This looks really slick; it's awesome. But as a grown woman, my forearm is barely long enough to fit the blade part! The blade tip actually extends into my palm area. And the gauntlet part is loose, though it's not at risk of slipping completely off. I'm 5'4", thin-armed, and proportional, so if you have short limbs or are looking to buy this for a kid, keep that in mind.

Also, don't buy this for a kid. The blade shoots out with some force, and the tip isn't completely dull. Grown adults will hurt themselves screwing around with it, never mind little ones. The good news is the spring mechanism has a safety that's not easy to bump accidentally, so it's only ever your own fault when the blade pops out.

Arrived well in advance of the projected date but in a kind of bubble envelope instead of a box. Product was okay, product box was not, if that matters to any collectors out there.

90% sure this is a bootleg... paint right out of the box is scuffed and worn, the bracer is warped, and the face of the blade is scuffed. Only using it to replace the broken blade part of my other one. If you dont mind the prop looking cheap, for this price, its functional. Will require some work to make look good though.

Broke first day

Bought for a 12 year old. The Velcro straps that hold it on are made for an adult, and even if they fit, it would be very awkward to attach the ends. The blade detached and flew out the first day.. Our price was around $26 last week.

My son was adamant about this purchase, but I warned him against it. He spent his money and, sure enough, it broke about 2 weeks later. It's a decent product if you want to buy it and stick it on a shelf, but, come on, what kid does that? Not mine. Anyway he did enjoy wearing it and opening and closing it before it fell apart. The side clasp broke where it fastens and then the knife spring action part broke.

1. After emailing the company and having them promise that my order would arrive FROM CHINA before Christmas, it didn't. It arrived after Christmas.
2. The spring-loaded "blade" worked twice, after that, it shot completely out of the gauntlet which made it a very dangerous, pointed, projectile. I was able to put the "blade" back into the gauntlet, but it kept shooting completely out. After three or four times, the blade would no longer stay inside the gauntlet, so my son can no longer play with it.

Total junk. It was great for 30 mins! So if you want to a dollar a ninute....go for it.

Ours just broke.

Now I would have rate 5 stars if the plastic screw didn't break. It's too bad really.

I'm pretty mad we are our the money.
