Never forget to turn off your devices again
Valta is a remote energy management system that can detect unused devices, identify energy waste, and notify you to help you save. Connecting Valta to a home router allows you to check and control connected devices on an iPhone or laptop anywhere or anytime. The Valta interface will also provide connected devices’ energy usage data, to help you make more informed energy decisions.
Valta allows users the ability to turn on/off all connected devices from a smartphone. Additionally, Valta can detect unused devices and send notifications to your smartphone, if unused devices have been left on in the home.
Tasks that are repetitive in nature can be accomplished easier with Valta's scene setting functionality. The Valta app has three setting options to make the connected devices in your home work around your day.
- Schedule: Schedule your device to turn on when you want it to.
- Timer: Decide how long you want your device to be turned on for. Want to fall asleep listening to music? Schedule your stereo to be on for only the next hour, fall asleep, and the system will turn the stereo off for you.
- Grouping: Control multiple devices with the touch of a button. You have many remote controls for your home entertainment system. Group them in our app, and turn them all off with touch of one button as you leave the room.
Make Informed Energy Decisions
Valta takes the guesswork out of energy efficiency by letting you understand how each device adds up to your energy bill. The system goes beyond total consumption and shows you how much energy is used against how much is wasted. Availability to this information can help you make better energy decisions. You can also customize the display value in kWh or dollars by inputting your local electric rates.
Orange Button
Valta's auto detection system helps you identify energy waste. When a device is found to be wasting energy, e.g. standby power, the “Orange Button” appears to alert you of the status, and prompt you to action against the device.
Valta observes your energy usage for a period of time so that it can make personalized recommendations to you to help you save. Valta also comes with a friendly interface to easily display how you are working towards your energy management goals and encourage users to use best energy practices. Find out how your devices consume energy on a monthly and weekly basis, or you can drill down to daily and hourly information. Your daily, weekly, and yearly information is stored on the Valta cloud server so that it can be easily access from your smartphone wherever you are.
Created with Users in Mind
The Valta starter kit comes with everything you need to set up. Simply download the Valta app from the iTunes store, and the app will walk you through a simple set-up process, and the system will be ready to use. Valta is scalable. Each one of our control hubs can support up to 16 sockets. Additional sockets will be available to be purchased through Amazon soon. Additional sockets and hubs allow users to gain a larger area of control, and any Valta account can support an unlimited amount of Valta hubs.

I was pretty curious reading about Valta on Kickstarter and various tech news websites and I'm glad it made it to market. Super jacked that I could buy it off a trusted retailer like Amazon and even more so when it arrived.
Set up of the base hub was as simple as connecting my garden hose and as for the sockets, the hardest part was how to decide where to use them (try to maximize energy savings vs. making my life easier and stress free). I opted for the latter and used one socket for the main lamp in my living room and the other for an electric space heater in my bedroom. I like controlling my lamp remotely (especially last week when I was on vacation in Florida so people would think someone was home with my lights turning on/off at random times in the morning and evenings) and as for that heater, I don't worry about forgetting to shut it off when I go to work and heating a room that I wasn't spending time in. Connectivity between the sockets and the hub have been solid. I input my electricity and time of day rates am starting to get some data on energy usage but I think if I wanted to maximize energy savings, I should plug something else in like my home entertainment unit.
Looking forward to seeing where this company evolves it's products and services!

They have no customer service. I went to their facebook page and got some help initially, but now a year later and i can not turn my devices on/off remotely, it only shows if they are on or off. As of 5-31-2016 i can not even get the My valta app to work. No customer service, no response on their facebook page. Looks like they are out of business!!
Great Investment

Honestly, I've been looking at technology like this for a quite a while but most of them come with expensive home security systems and require a monthly service fee.
Valta took less than 10 minutes to set up and, after only a week, I've started to see the benefits. Who knew my home theatre system was wasting $10-$15 each electricity bill, just while I was at work each day? Valta doesn't just show you how much energy you are consuming, it shows you detailed stats like time of day, day of week (I love the graphs and charts - great presentation on both the app and the website). The Scenes let you program in seconds when to turn things on and off (the user interface is super simple).
Hopefully, Amazon will start selling expansion packs and larger kits. I definitely will pick up a few more outlets for around the house. It's crazy how much energy is wasted when I'm not even home! I never gave it much thought but when it's this easy to change, why wouldn't you? Plus, it's pretty cool to turn something on and off from my iPad!

My Valta kit has worked great, and it's been much more useful than I really expected. I'm having a lot of fun controlling appliances in my house from my iPhone, but honestly the best part about it isn't that... it's knowing what's on, and what's off, no matter where I am. I can check in on my house while I'm out with my wife or whatever. I know there are some other systems out there that do this, but they were all super expensive and required a pro to install it, so for this, to be able to just plug something into a wall... it started working pretty much right away. Interested to see what else this company comes out with in the next few years.
Excellent and aesy to set up!!

I had them for 2 weeks. The iPhone app was not consistent with statuses on the devices also they keep shutting off so my equipment were being shut down without any settings to do so. Setup was easy but the features is limited; you can not do too much with configuring each device.
There is better products out there.

Valta "Starter" needs to have Valta "finish"

I love my Valta Starter Kit! Now the problem seems to be getting them to move on and create additional units to add onto the system.
I got Valta a few months ago and have seen some energy savings. But more than anything, I love the convenience of being able to turn things on and off. I've tried several other systems, and none seem to work anywhere close to as well as this product does. I've yet to have any kind of connectivity or function failure.
One of the things I like most is that the system revolves around an app that can be upgraded to add more features over time. The potential for it is endless. So why downgrade it a star? Simply because they say it will handle up to 16 units, but you can't even get to 3 units. New units are just not available, and it has been awhile guys. Adding a new package would probably take an upgrade to the app and the desire to get it done. But there's only so much time that you can put promises out there and still hold credibility. Valta needs to take care of the needs of customers they already have, even if it means slowing down the acquisition of new customers for a product that is consumer ready, but a product line that is not.
At this time, I still recommend the product, and two units will get you started. However, how long I will continue to make that recommendation is entirely in the hands of the Valta people.

No Android Support? It Just Starts There!

Was thinking about purchasing this product because I liked the idea of being able to monitor power consumption throughout my home. It's also a very nice looking product that I thought would blend into my walls nicely. After some research, I am so glad I DIDN'T buy this set. First, there was no Android support. Apparently they have been promising this for 2 years. Why would you ignore over 80% of the smartphone market? Guess all the guys that run this company have iPhones. I was really done at this point in my research, but decided to do a little more digging. I guess out of total disbelief that you would ignore such a huge part of the technology world. The next thing I found was this very expensive hub has to be plugged directly into my router. I have one last precious open spot left in my router and I am glad I didn't give it up to a product that only controls 16 devices. Oh wait! Actually, none for me since I use Android. Lol!! My Sonos bridge controls up to 30 devices (maybe more). My Philips hub controls up to 60 devices. My WeMo hub, for their smart bulbs, doesn't even need to be plugged into my router and controls 50 devices. Valta has great intentions, but is too far behind other products.
As you can see from above, I went with other products that were smarter and much cheaper than Valta. I purchased Insight switches by WeMo that basically do the same thing that Valta does. WeMo's products are somewhat awkward to set up but not difficult at all. WeMo Insight switches have the hub built in so you don't have to give up precious spots on your router. The cost of one WeMo switch is more than HALF of the cost of this Valta set and, as I said before, doesn't require a separate hub. WeMo's Android and iOS interface is easy to understand and simple to change and reconfigure if you so choose. Philips Android and iOS interface is a bit more awkward than WeMo's, but the product is very nice and works well like WeMo does.
Connected home products are very cool and I love their potential. I even bought an Amazon Echo that supports WeMo, Philips, and Wink. They do not support Valta. Echo is simply just an amazing device. I can have Echo turn my products on and off with my voice. So cool and extremely helpful. The Echo was another reason not to buy Valta. With so many great products being developed to make our lives smarter and more connected to our home, we have so many great choices now. Unfortunately for Valta, they are being left behind in my opinion. There are just too many products out there that do more, are easier to use, supported by other products, and cost way less than Valta. Do your research and consider Valta carefully before you buy.
