Good, and getting better daily.

Works as advertised. Great addition for any game that supports it. The number of games that support it is growing every week. It started as a small list but has grown to over 300 games now. The list on logitech website is a terrible list. If you really want to know what games this works with, use afterpad's master list

This controller qualifies as a standard MFi controller for iOS 7. The difference between standard and extended is that extended controllers have analog sticks. There are some games that REQURE extended and won't work with standard. My experience though is that is a VERY small list.

To the complains about the pressure sensitivity of directional pad. This varies from game to game and I think a lot of it rests with the game developers. Direction pad is an ANALOG pad by apples MFi specifications. This means the controller sends HOW HARD you are pressing it to iOS and iOS and the current software running (ie your game) decide whether or not you are pressing it hard enough to walk vs run or whatever. A lot of games pretty much do require you to press it 100% to move and this is really a software problem, not hardware. Something apple and/or that game dev needs to address. It's no fault of controller. Some games play perfectly and use the analog directional pad correctly (where a light press is walking and hard press is running, etc).

Great, so long as you know what you're getting.

The shell feels very solid, well made. The buttons feel good, not squishy. The d-pad works well in any game I've used it in, I haven't had any issues with having to press hard. It's a bit large to use as a case full time, and if you do have a case the fit is so snug that taking the case off would be necessary. I use it with an iPhone 5S and the controller fits like a glove. The instructions state that it can also be used with the iPhone 5 and the iPod Touch. The instruction manual states that you need an adaptor for the iPod Touch though, and I don't think it came with one.

The only issue with the d-pad is it has the same problem as the Xbox 360 d-pad, its difficult at times to press only one direction, it you try to press right 90% of the time it will register as up-right or down-right, unless you're very careful. This isn't a huge issue most of the time, but a d-pad with four separate buttons, like the Razer Sabertooth Xbox controller would have been preferable.

The battery seems good, I haven't tested it thoroughly, but I'd estimate that it charges ~80%-90% of the iPhone 5S's battery. There is a small switch on the left hand side that turns on the battery. The case itself charges in around an hour.

They have a decent amount of supported games (there is a full list here: http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/game-list). I wish there were more, but there are still quite a bit.

Overall this is a good peripheral, and while you probably wouldn't want to use it as a case full time, it is still very handy for people who dislike virtual buttons.

Worth the cost in battery power alone

I bought this controller for 70 bucks off amazon when the price dropped and it was a very good buy! Like the title says, not only is this a wonderfully made controller, but the charging capabilities are on par with other portable chargers. To test it, I fully charged my powershell and drained my phone to 10%. I then left it charging in the powershell while I watched a movie. At the end of the movie the powershell was depleated of power but my phone was at a whopping 92%!

That being said, there are some limitations that I wish I had known about before buying it: it does not work with all games, but you can do a google search and find the expansive growing list of compatible games! Also, if you are buying this only to play with terraria like it shows on the box, don't bother. They are still working on the kinks and for terraria specifically I find myself using touch controls instead. The powershell works WONDERFULLY with games like Knights of the Old Republic, COD, and Sonic. I also have bastion that it works with and I'm excited to try that out!

Happy buying :)

Fits iPhone 5/5S and ipod 5th gen like a glove
by G. Ramirez (4 out of 5 stars)

Pros: Fits iPhone 5/5S and ipod 5th gen like a glove. 8+ dollars.. Shoot yes

Cons: D pad and buttons are small. D Pad not quite right (don't know if its not responsive enough or too sensitive, just a bad feel)

I bought this for my jailbroken iPod to use with emulators. Some issues with certain emulators with button mapping but nothing too bad, overall its good. The DPad just doesnt feel right for some reason. I also have an old ION iCade Mobile and I tested the difference and the DPad is better on the iCade. iCade is older and still sells for about 19$. iCade only works with iPhone4 size so you have to modify the case by cutting out some of the rubber, so while heavier more expensive and you have to modify it, its actually still a better controller for emulators. The Poweshell buttons are also really small and I would have liked for them to bring them down a little bit from where they are currently sitting. If I had paid the original price of 100+ when it first came out I would have been mad. They are only 8 Dollars now with free Prime shipping and I had to give it 4 stars just because they are so cheap. You cant beat that price for a lightning connected controller that is lightweight and so easy to set up and use

WORKS PERFECTLY WITH GBA4iOS AND NDS4iOS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by grant urbanski (5 out of 5 stars)

I love this thing. It really works, and people say the controls are broken but they're not broken they're just different type of controls. I mainly got this for gba4ios and it not only works with that but with nds4ios aswell. The d pad can be pressed harder to get a better response because at first I thought the response was weird because when I was using it, it wasn't working when I was just touching it, but when I pressed down it was easier to control games and it was very responsive.

GBA4iOS
(. And if you don't have gba4ios google how to get it, it's easy and amazing, you don't need a jailbreak to get it but you can only get it on the gba4ios website by setting your date back to February / 18 / 2014 on your idevice after it try's to install a second time, then you open it then after opened set the date. )

Controllers Review / Features

Now I think the Moga ace would be better because it has more joysticks for games like dead trigger and other shooting games for example for looking around easier, but this is the only flaw besides what games from the iTunes App Store are compatible with it, same with the Moga. The game compatibility is not the controllers fault though, the developers of the other games need to implement compatibility with these controllers so playing these games that we download would have a real portable like psp or original game boy advanced experience.

Now the powershell is more casual for the idevice because it like blends the iPhone in with it so it's like it was manufactured just like that. It is comfort to hold in landscape and upright iPhone/iPod position and easy to use in both positions. It is a good size as well, much smaller than a psp vista except a millimeter longer so you could fit it in a normal sized pocket no problem.

Bought this for my mom for her birthday. She loves her iPhone but cant really play games on the small screen so this lets her play her games (that this works with) without fumbling the buttons. My boys play terriera on her phone with it and say they need one for their phones. they don't have iphones so I don't know how that would work. At this price this is a great item for anyone who games on iPhone or just to mess with

Finally, a product that makes potty time fun! I first tested out this product during a long #2 potty break and it was awesome! I just clicked my iPhone right in and immediately started navigating my phone to test out Sonic 2. This controller feels great to hold. I liken it to a Gameboy on steroids. Now my iPhone really has a purpose. It even charges my iPhone without having to plug it in, which means that I don't have to fuss around with cables when i'm in a rush to get to the bathroom. I just grab it and go. This is a fantastic piece of engineering and if you can grab one of these for a reasonable price here on Amazon, even better! The only downside to this for me is that I feel that the battery drains fairly quickly. I have to charge it once a day with moderate usage. Also, the small button that you slide to power on the phone is really finicky. As a women with manicured nails I can just about manage after a couple of attempts, to turn the screen on. But, if your the type that bites your nails or just clip them super short, then you absolutely cannot rely on your nails to function that part of the controller. But, those shortfalls really are quite tiny when weighing the pros and cons. This product is a must, and it will keep your coworkers wondering what the heck you are doing during your potty break, especially with all of the fun and frustration induced noises you'll be making while playing games.

two stars, bad dpad,
by nntb (2 out of 5 stars)

so I want to elaborate on the DPAD issue, the issue with the DPAD is not its responsiveness when a contact is made it's fast and accurate. the issue is the design of the pad physically. when comparing it to any controller Nintendo sony sega Microsoft has ever made it feels like a 3rd party cheap controller from pelican.
3rd party controllers from Logitech in the past and PC controllers have never had this issue. instead of a PLUS, it is a circle that rocks to hit one of 4 buttons. if the circle was under the external surface of the device and you only pushed on the up down left or right button it would be a much more usable design. so to say its apples fault it is not. this is 100% on Logitech,

I hope this trend doesn't continue.

also i fear this device might have lowered my iphone battery's life.

One of the best controllers I've ever used.
by Pedro Valencia (5 out of 5 stars)
June 5, 2015

This is a seriously neat controller with a beautiful finish. It's really comfortable to hold and the D-pad works fine. Perfect for emulators on a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch.

Not all games I've tried work with this, mind you, but for the ones it does work, it works really well. I've used it primarily for emulators, and it works splendidly with Retroarch (which emulates a ton of different platforms, GBA, SNES, you name it) on a jailbroken iPod Touch (gen5). For Retroarch I just had to remap the controls to make it work.

I don't understand the complaints that some people have about the D-pad. Really, the D-pad works fine for me, and it makes me question whether those people were simply using apps that were coded badly. I'm using the Logitech PowerShell primarily for games *designed* with a D-pad in mind (old emulated games from the 16-bit era) and I have had ZERO issues. As a bonus it even works with analog-controlled games like Playstation 1 games (which Retroarch also emulates).

For the price you can buy this at, this controller is an absolute steal. Can't recommend it enough. It's easily one of the best mobile-related purchases I've ever made.

The only downside to the product I've observed is that if left untouched or unused while a game is running, it seems to "time out" and the buttons stop being recognized by iOS. I have to turn off and restart my iPod Touch to get the buttons working again. It's just a minor hassle though, since it only happens if I leave the iPod unused for a while. In a long gaming session where I'm playing nonstop, this problem doesn't occur at all.

Great for about two months, then it dies
by Sean R. Wood (2 out of 5 stars)

I've just gone though my second one of these. Both of which lasted about two months of use on a daily basis for less than an hour a day. They both just stopped working. Nothing dramatic, just all of a sudden the phone just stopped recognizing that it was there. Other than the short life span, it's a great product for me. I primarily play snes and gba games though an emulator on my 5s, so the d-pad control is great for me. I would probably buy another, however it doesn't look like they're available for Prime anymore. Five stars if I didn't have to buy a new one every two months.
